More About the Neighborhood:
This home is located in Palm Springs' El Rancho Vista Estates, northeast of the Palm Springs International Airport, and accessed via Vista Chino, and is the first of architects Wexler & Harrison residential subdivisions. Developer Roy Fey, a former Chicago accountant who came to the desert and developed a small real estate empire, built this 75 single-family home development. He saw the potential Southern California Modernist architecture had in the emerging post-war housing market. His belief in the product led him to use the street name “East Avenida Fey Norte” to memorialize his involvement in the development – a not uncommon practice among residential developers.
“El Rancho” has been experiencing a resurgence in popularity with mid-century modern aficionados, many of them buying and restoring these beautifully designed gems. Several photo and video shoots have been done here in the recent past, helping ignite the excitement about this formerly hidden neighborhood.

We stayed here for 2 night with a late check out at 2pm on Sunday - additional $73 but so worth it. There were six of us and although the outside area is perfect for 6 or more, the house was a little small. The kitchen has everything a chef needs (pots, pans, utensils etc..) but with 3 of us girls prepping together - it was tight. Couch space limited but fit our 3 guys that watched sports. The dinner table doesn't fit six. We grilled outside during the day it was great. You'll notice the grill is directly in the sun earlier in the day but I promise it moves after 1pm so you wont cook in the desert sun.
Finally, sleeping in. Well that's impossible because there are no shades in the bedrooms or blackout curtains. My friends that slept in a smaller room complained about an outside light that they were not able to turn off so it glared at them all night. I was in the master and am an early raiser so it didn't bother me. Bed was comfy. Tons of towels.
Dogs friendly!! Our pups loved the yard and lounging under the tree or under the patio. - I love my animals so all the other stuff is just noise as long as they are allowed.
all in all, I recommend.
Lots of local attractions, including nearby public golf, tennis and spa options. Empire Polo Club, home of the Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals, is only 4 miles away.
