We rented this very special beach home for eight years before we were fortunate enough to be able to buy it and become the new stewards. Our love for "Another World" was immediate. The obvious benefits of this house are numerous. The location affords front and back views of the ocean and the basin from the wrap around deck; and we are located within walking distance to the convenience store, liquor store, restaurants, surf shop, and bait shop. Another World is also next door to the charming breakfast spot, Mad Martha's! There are three bedrooms (queen master, twin single, and ocean facing large room with double sized futon and single bed) and two baths on two levels of living space; and there is an additional day bed on the ground level. A pull-out queen sofa with Bob-o-Pedic mattress in the living room creates extra sleeping space - so the house easily accommodates 8.
We provide most amenities including wifi, smart TVs, CD/radio/stereo, Bose Sound Dock for iTunes, all kitchen appliances, utensils, and serving ware, towels and linens, washer/dryer, (2) bicycles, single and double kayaks, beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, and coolers as well as a grill and propane.
The beach provides hours of enjoyment - the tide and sandbar change constantly and make for a delightful daily experience. Sunrises and sunsets are sublime, and the ocean air at night is renewing.
On the Southern side of the island is the nearby refuge -- 12 miles of national and state shoreline with bird watching and natural splendor. You can bike there easily or get up early to park at one of the several lots. On the Northern side at the mouth of the Merrimack River are daily fishing excursions as well as a public beach that's worthy of a visit. It's an easy walk or bike ride if you want to check out the lighthouse or the fishing activity at the Northern end. No matter which direction you head in when you set out to explore on this beautiful, unspoiled island, you will find natural
delights everywhere as well as the unique characteristics of a place unmarked by commercial overdevelopment. It is a restful oasis.
If you want to leave the Island, Newburyport and all of its charm is a 10-minute drive or a 30-minute bike trip away. The restaurants are plentiful and outstanding.
