Overview

About the property

2 Bedroom 2 Bath Secluded Ocean-Front Condo (sleeps 4)

Aloha! Lae Nani Unit 526 was purchased and remodeled in 2013 by a family who wants to share this piece of paradise with others, offering a unique vacation experience to family, friends and guests.

Our condo is about a 10 minute drive from the airport and is located midway between the recreational and scenic attractions found on the island’s north and south shores. Lae Nani is located on the Coconut Coast overlooking Wailua Bay and the Pacific Ocean. It is refined and ‘Old Hawaiian’ rather than being pretentious or glitzy. Its extensive, lush grounds, swimming pool, gas grills, tennis and laundry facilities are clean and well-maintained. Parking is free. It's aglow with flowers, tropical plants and trees. It’s secluded, yet an easy walk to a large assortment of restaurants and shopping. In short, it is one of the best places to stay on Kauai.

Lae Nani has a number of accommodations for vacationers, some of which are special indeed. Our unit (526) is one of them. Here’s why:

• Unit 526 has been completely updated. It has stainless steel appliances, bamboo flooring, new décor, a large flatscreen television with dvd, and premium mattresses and bedding (King size in the master bedroom, extra length twin beds in the second bedroom). It is light, airy and comfortable.

• Unit 526 is a true ocean-front condominium. It’s about 50 feet from the beach. Nothing obstructs the ocean view or the rhythmic sound of the waves.

• Unit 526 is a second floor condo, which means that the spacious lanai is elevated, for glorious views of the ocean, sunrises, whale-watching and privacy. Yet because of the building’s design, it’s only one ½ flight of stairs to the front door.

• Unit 526 is an end unit at the western boundary of the property, adding to its already unique location and making it very private. An extra large window not possible in interior units translates into more light and a feeling of openness.

About Kara Brown

This is a family owned condo purchased 2012 by a family from Fort Collins, Colorado. After several vacations at Lae Nani, we knew we had found a real jewel, and when this particular unit (some say the best location at Lae Nani) came up for sale we knew we had something special and we jumped at the chance. Since then, we have updated this condo to make it our home away from home. We know you will enjoy it too!

Kara Brown purchased this condo in 2012

Why Kara Brown chose Kauai

A lot of property advertised as 'ocean front.' For most it is a stretch. Not so with Unit #526! This is a true ocean/beach front condo with unobstructed views of Wailua Bay and the Pacific Ocean beyond. From the living area you could be fooled into thinking you had taken to sea, as the surf rolls just outside the lanai.

Real vacation, nice place, nothing to worry about!!

  • 5 of 5

The condo was perfect for us- couple and 2college kids. You cannot beat location- end unit , 2nd floor gave awesome view and privacy/quiet. Condo was clean and had all necessities. The owners were great at communicating and very accommodating. We relaxed and explored , hiked, kayaked, ate a ton then relaxed! Would go back in a heartbeat.

Wonderful & Relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 stayed in this wonderful condo (kids' ages 14 & 12). Everything operated smoothly and professionally. It was a perfect spot to see all sides of this beautiful island.

We loved exploring the gorgeous grounds, swimming in the on-site pool, and watching and listening to the ocean from the lovely lanai. Condo is convenient (walking distance) to much shopping & restaurants as a bonus!

The condo is well-appointed, updated and clean. We thought the condo was a comfortable temperature, even in June, with the fans operating and ocean breeze through the windows.

We look forward to returning to Kauai someday, and we'd highly recommend this condo/location.

Stunning views, peaceful respite.

  • 5 of 5

Part of me is still in Kauai even though I have been home a month. I have never felt so relaxed and at home as I did at this beautiful condo in Kapaa. There is not a better location on the island; one walks in from a long journey and there is the ocean, a beautiful space, and coffee and fresh bread from Great Harvest. It is pristine--which is not always the case with condos in Hawaii. I get the feeling that the owners take great pride in sharing their beautiful home. We have already signed up to go back!

Amazing, relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We had never stayed on this part of the island and were curious about it. This condo is so nice and so well priced, we figured there had to be a catch. There is no catch. We stayed for a very relaxing week and loved the location as it is so central to everything. This is a calm place: no big hype, just quiet and easy and beautiful. We ended up getting sushi at Safeway many nights and eating on the comfortable lanai. The lack of air conditioning was not a problem, except that the second bedroom felt pretty warm at night. The beds were very comfortable. The rest of the condo had plenty of breeze going through. The pool is HUGE and the ocean is pretty swimmable, depending on the tides.

Million-dollar-view and condo that has it all!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from 2 wonderful weeks at this beautiful condo. My jaw dropped when we first walked in and saw that magnificent view! The crashing waves, swaying palms, and the huge, perfectly landscaped yard area. Lots of light and open feeling in living room/dining area/kitchen. Kitchen is totally equipped with top-quality everything! I could work in that kitchen forever and gaze at that incredible view. Extremely comfortable beds, ceiling fans and standing vertical fans in both bedrooms and living room. Temp was very comfortable throughout condo. Building 5 directly faces the ocean and receives maximum airflow from tradewinds. Waves crash so loudly that we had to turn up TV volume! Lanai is large with table, chairs, and chaise -- we spent many enjoyable hours there playing games, reading, having coffee and meals, and enjoying the company of our gecko friend who showed up every morning. This condo is an end unit -- lots of privacy, but just a short walk to the huge pool with ocean view and lots of very comfortable chaise lounges. The pool area was quiet and very relaxing for reading and snoozing. We revisited our favorite restaurant, Hukilau Lanai (nearby at the Kauai Coast Resort near Coconut Marketplace). We also discovered great new places: Kilauea Fish Market (thanks, Kara!), Korean BBQ Restaurant, and Monico's Mexican. Our favorite breakfast spot is Kalaheo Coffee and Cafe (in Kalaheo) -- a good place to eat on your way to Waimea Canyon and Kokee/Kalalau Lookout. The North Shore area is a true paradise, especially the drive from Hanalei to the end of the road at Ke'e Beach. Every turn of the narrow road is a picture postcard. I hope it always remains that way. We loved staying at this beautiful condo -- our all-time favorite place to stay. I look forward to future visits there and am recommending it to all my friends.

Beautiful condo, grounds, and view!

  • 5 of 5

Very nice island décor. Comfortable beds. Very clean. Would have been wonderful if it was air conditioned but got use to the damp warm air with the help of all the fans. Best location on the island and loved Kapaa with all the restaurants, shops, etc. also, close to the Path which we loved walking and running....great scenery. Easy drives to all other parts of the island. Property manager was very helpful and attentive when needed. Would highly recommend.

Our condo is an end unit located in a lush ocean/beach front setting on the north shore of Wailua Bay. While tucked away in a very secluded setting, the condo is within walking distance of numerous restaurants (from Kintaro Japanese Restaurant to the Brick Oven Pizza) and shopping, including the outdoor mall at the Coconut Marketplace. The condo is also a short drive from the quaint town center of Kapaa, and an approximate 10 minute drive from the City of Lihue and the Lihue Airport. Centrally located on Kauai's Coconut Coast, our condo is at the same time the perfect place to relax and recharge, and an ideal jumping-off point from which to explore Kauai's numerous attractions between the North and South Shores. The most difficult decision each day (if you choose not to stay home and relax on the lanai or soak up the sun at the pool) is whether to drive north to Hanalai Bay or further along to Haena State Park to hit the Kalalau Trial to take in the breathtaking Na Pali Coast, or instead to drive south to Poipu and beyond to Polihale State Park and the beautiful open beaches on Kauai's western shore. No matter what you choose, you can't go wrong!
