Capt C is a graduate of UF with a degree in wildlife management. He and his buddies vowed to one day return in Central Florida where the fishing rivals the Virgin Islands to put down some roots. Although Capt C is busy with many opportunities as a Captain, he and Adraine find Haines Creek to be their perfect getaway retreat.
It's SO quiet. At night, you only hear the palm trees brushing the tin roof of the lanai or the owls in the trees on the canal.
We stayed here during Christmas and really enjoyed our time at the property. The house is very comfortable and the back yard and lanai offer a private setting in which to relax. A prolonged drought resulted in low water levels behind the house so no fishing, but that was a very minor item. The owners were very user friendly and made us feel welcome. We prepared several meals and the kitchen was adequate for all our needs. A small shopping center is a short drive away and easily accesible. We would definitely stay here again.
Located less than 10 minutes from Mt. Dora antique shops and antique fairs
