|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Experience Montana the way you have always dreamed of it. Tucked away in a secluded area surrounded by national forest,our cozy custom built home offers you serene beauty and adventure. Relax by the creek that runs year round or go pick huckleberries on one of our many hiking trails. Thirty (30) minutes away from the small vibrant town of Whitefish and and only twenty (20) from Glacier National Park, you'll never be without something to experience. Set on 50 acres, there is a lot of room to roam the outdoors right out the front door! Horses, dogs and a tree fort are also on the property. There is a master bedroom upstairs that has a connecting patio door to enjoy the outdoors from the twin rocking chairs or the hot tub located on the upper deck. There are three bedrooms downstairs sharing a full bathroom. Both the upstairs and downstairs have spacious living rooms that invite conversation and good memories. The open floor plans give you the space you need but the feeling of home you want. Winter time you can cross country ski, snow shoe, snow mobile, or go sledding out the back yard. There is a snow mobile outfit in Columbia Falls that will rent machines and the trial goes up behind Big Mountain one mile up the North Fork road from us. Or you can just stay home and enjoy the quiet serenity of wintertime. With full windows on both sides of the family room, when it snows you feel like you are in a snow globe! We encourage family re-unions as all ages will have something to do. All Holidays are decorated for. As our guest book says - pictures cannot capture the beauty, serenity of our home. Lynn and I and our three children custom built the home.
Lynn and I have been natives to Columbia Falls Montana all of our lives. I was born and raised here on our homestead and Lynn moved here when he was 4 years old. We enjoy the outdoors and horse back riding in the Bob Marshall. We and our children built our home as a family which made memories for all of us working as a team creating everlasting memories and work ethics. Which, now that they are on their own thank us for all of the things they were taught. Family is what we want this vacation home to be - for all ages.
Joan purchased this house in 2004
Staying with us you will have no neighbors as you are surrounded by forest service. Cedar Creek runs year round for the relaxing sound, along with a horseshoe & fire pit.
Sitting on the front porch hearing Cedar Creek either from the rocking chairs, reclining chairs or the hot tub is soothingr! At night the stars are abundant and the moon is close on a clear night. On hot summer days the porch is always the right temperature to enjoy the outdoors. The home has central air conditioning so all is comfortable at all times.
our group of 8 rode up on our motorcycles and were pleasantly surprised of the home and the property that it is on. Joan the owner is a wonderful host showing us around and making sure we felt right at home. Our rating is a 5 star plus Thank you Joan
I cannot speak highly enough of our experience staying at this property. It is a perfect home base for exploring Glacier National Park. The home is beautiful and ideal for a sizable group of friends & family and the memories from our stay there are some of my all time favorites. Joan is wonderful too. If you are planning a trip to Glacier stay here if you can.
The reviews show this home to be beautiful, secluded, and very accommodating which we endorse enthusiastically. Having been in the building materials business all my life, I found the local materials that Lynn and Joan incorporated into their home to be truly amazing. We were excited about getting our 16 person family together because Joan had been helpful and informative with our new adventure planning to Glacier Park. Our family “threads” appreciate their privacy as well as the late night comradery. The floor plan allows kids and adults (yes, even grandparents) wonderful space inside and outside the house to accomplish both! It’s not our first VRBO, but it is the first we would choose to go back to, again.
We like to think that our family home encourages friends and families to repeat visits. This house felt the same. If anything is missing it will be there quickly with a warm smile. An extraordinary example of the hospitality occurred when one of our party had a bad accident on our first full day together at Glacier. Joan made it clear that whatever else was necessary to make their stay more comfortable would be offered. Our family member ended up 20 minutes away at the Whitefish Hospital for the rest of our 4 days together. If anyone is worried about the medical facilities nearby, they need not as it’s a wonderful place from the caregivers, to the providers to the food and attention to family from afar.
We had planned our get together for several months as an extra special getaway. We feel fortunate to have found the right hosts and the right National Park. We traveled home through two other national parks; making us appreciate this splendid place on earth even more. The setting is perfect, but more importantly, you will be dealing with good people that will not let you be disappointed with your stay- guaranteed. Thank you, Joan and Lynn, for providing the perfect HQ for our excursions in Glacier Park!
We stayed for a week in September and was able to have all of our family stay at the cabin and have our wedding reception on the deck. Our dogs loved the creek and the space to run and got along well with Brick. The deck was perfect for sitting and talking and taking in the views. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all very nice with all the amenities we needed. The kitchen also had ample space and amenities for us to cook our big meals and the caterer was very pleased with the space he had for the reception. It's a quick drive into Columbia Falls and perfectly secluded. We were all very happy with the cabin and have no complaints.
I just can't say enoght about how amazing this house is! We were greated by Joan when we arrived and she took me on a guided tour of the house. She was quick to help us get settled in. We were then greated by Brick! He was quite the host as well!!
We were 4 families staying together in this home. 7 adults and 7 children. There was always more than enough room for everybody and we enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. The house and property had everything we could ask for and more.
In a heart beat we would stay there again.
Our family stayed for a week at this lovely property. There were 14 of us, ages 2 to 73. We were part of a reunion of 24 with the other 10 staying elsewhere. This property was so large and well appointed that it served as our nightly recreation center after our daily adventures in the National Park. Our children enjoyed the creek and the very friendly German Shepard, "Brick". All the amenities needed for nightly dining, barbequeing, and patio deck relaxing were available and used. The owner couldn't have been nicer and accommodating. Beautiful.
