Our home is designed for comfort, there are 3 bedrooms, one downstairs that has a queen bed and a full size bed, Upstairs there is a large bedroom with a queen bed, king bed and a twin, and a small bedroom with a king bed and a twin. There is a 42in TV downstairs and a 32in upstairs and we have Direct TV, high speed wireless internet, washer and dyer, water cooler with cold and hot water. If you want to climb a mountain or cast a rod, float a river, ride a horse, play a round of golf or go to a casino, it is all within minutes from our home.
To have a place in Colorado was my husbands dream and in 1995 we had an opportunity to buy the land and started to build the home ourselves. It took us five years but we received our occupancy in 2000 and have enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the mountains ever since.
Alice Gregory purchased this house in 2000
We vacationed in Pagosa Springs and loved the area.
The cabin was cozy and comfortable. The beds we used were comfortable. It's a ways off the paved road, so it takes just under 20 minutes to get to downtown Pagosa Springs (just under 15 minutes to the Walmart). It does get you closer to the Chimney Rock national monument than a room in town would. It was very quiet during our stay except for some dogs barking one night and the smoke alarm low-battery chirp waking us up the first night. One suggestion would be some better reading lights in the living room area. There is one lamp, but it's a little dim, and the overhead lights are pretty dim for reading as well. The TV setup in the living room is nice with a satellite TV and WII for games. The WiFi worked well except for trying to watch a couple of movies on Netflix; I assume that's a problem on the ISP's end (Centurylink?). I'm not sure what the norm is, but there was almost no drinking water when we arrived, so we had to make a water run; it sounds like some folks had more water stocked on their arrival. The cabin was nicely equipped as far as linens and cookware. There are also some toys and games. Thanks for having us, Alice!
Beautiful setting. Every thing went smoothly and we especially enjoyed the yard that opened into a beautiful area where we just enjoyed sitting in chairs and talking. Thanks.
The house was beautiful and clean. I would definitely recommend this vacation rental.
This was a super home to stay for our Christmas ski vacation. House has plenty of beds, great hot water tank and almost got too warm with pellet stove running. There was a lot of snow on ground when we arrived so a 4x4 was exactly what we needed. Beautiful area to visit.
We had a great week staying here with our children and their families. There were tons of pots and pans and plenty of silverware and dishes. It was close to Pagosa Springs, and easy access fir traveling to Navajo Lake and Durango. Having DirecTV was appreciated also.
We loved staying here! 3 others were supposed to join us but they were unable to. There was plenty of room for the 6 of us. We enjoyed cooking our meals and doing laundry too. We were very comfortable here. The house is close to town and we enjoyed the scenic trips to Pagosa Springs, Treadire Falks, and Chimney Rock. We will be coming back!
