About Pete Holte

I am the second generation owner of my family farm originally purchased in 1947. Through the years it has evolved to a hobby farm with large lawn area, hiking trails through the woods and a small vineyard. The Villa was built after the flood in 2007 to provide office space safely away from floodwaters and to provide a vacation space for those who like to escape to the countryside and enjoy nature or simply to relax and enjoy time with friends and family.

Pete Holte purchased this cottage in 1998

Why Pete Holte chose Wisconsin

I have always enjoyed this property because of its fairly unique setting that includes 2 valleys with lots of hillsides and trees for wildlife habitat and trails throughout for a variety of hiking opportunities. The farm also has numerous springs and streams that provide a place for natural trout reproduction and a relaxing waterfall sound. I guess I have always wanted to share this with other people so that they can enjoy what I live with and with their feedback always enjoy it myself and never take it for granted.

What makes this cottage unique

The setting here is very appealing! The property is surrounded on several sides by running water. Several Waterfalls are on the property and the immediate scenery is incredible throughout the four seasons of the year.

This really is a cool property with lots of space to explore and enjoy

  • 5 of 5

We had a group of UWL Alumni that got together here for a small reunion. The house was very nice with more than enough sleeping space to accommodate us. Even better was the actual outdoor property itself with plenty of room for yards games, hiking, bonfire, and other activities. We had a bus pick us up Friday night and Saturday night to bring us downtown to 3rd street which was only about a 30 minute ride each way. The scenery was absolutely great and Pete is a very accommodating host. I would definitely stay here again

Thanks Pete for opening your home to us, it was lovely! The fireplace was great to use at night and the huge porch was great to sit out on and have coffee. It was so peaceful out there, we would definitely recommend this place!!

Hidden gem with a spectacular view

  • 5 of 5

Our family rented this house for a surprise birthday trip to celebrate my mother's 60th birthday. It was the perfect place for our family to gather and spend time together. The property is tucked in a valley so the views surrounding the house are truly breath taking. The owner of the property was great to work with, he even checked in with us a few times to see if we needed anything. I hope we can make it back to stay here again in the future.

Wonderful Stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here during a fly fishing trip in the area and had a wonderful time at the property. From the inside and outside the place was great. Even thought of having toys there for the kids to play with in addition to the hiking trails and easy access to the fishing. Would stay here again!

Pete is a spectacular host! We can't thank you enough for such an amazing vacation experience. Everyone had a great time and that says a lot since our group varied in age from 8 to 88!! We are all looking forward to visiting again soon!
