Peacefully nestled at the top of a subdivision enviously located close to all ammenities, minutes walk to a fantastic trail, this home has it all. Beautiful open-concept design with bedrooms and baths on opposite ends offers the utmost in privacy and comfort, with 2 gas fireplaces, a jacuzzi tub, and a wrap-around balcony which bathes in the glory of Sedona's red rocks from sun-up to sun-down. Truely inviting living room with picture windows that skillfully draw the outdoors in.
While we currently live in Ontario, our second home in Sedona is a special place of refuge to find peace, tranquility and yet with numerous opportunities to engage in an active lifestyle of golf, tennis, biking, and of course hiking which is second to none. Moving closer towards retirement, we'd like to both spend more time soaking in the beauty and comforts in Sedona, the wonderfull weather, but also take advantage of the varied activities she offers.
Reinier or Catherine purchased this house in 2012
Having travelled widely and lived in various places around the globe, Sedona drew us in. She has a powerful beauty which is complemented by this magnificent property which has made short vacations repeatedly special. The location and how its positioned among the hills is breathtaking. It demands to be shared.
Location. Radiant glows of the red rocks welcoming in the day at breakfast.
Location. 20 minutes walk from the front door on a trail around Table Top mountain finds one perched high above the bustle of the homes below, with Bell and Courthouse Rocks in the distance.
Location. A short walk to the main road, a visit to one of the coffee shops, and pick up a few groceries before strolling home.
Location. Settling in with a glass of wine on the balcony, and take in the sunset.
And so much more.
We stayed in the house for almost 2 weeks, last October (2012) and we
had a great time. The view at the famous Sadonian red rocks is
astonishing from all (bed)rooms in the house and also from the spacious
The accommodation itself is luxury with a complete kitchen and
comfortable beds. The master bedroom even provides a jacuzzi, which is
very relaxing after a long hiking day. The entrance way to the house
provides access for 2 cars, which is very convenient, too.
The location of the house is in a quite neighborhood of Sedona, but
still at walking distance from the shops and a variety of restaurants
along the main road.
Hiking trails are easily accessible by foot or 5 to 10 minutes drives by
car. The drive to the Grand Canyon is about 2 hours drive by car.
The weather was great, too. Cool at night and comfortable warm with
clear blue skies during the day.
So, we had a great 2 weeks here and we definitely want to come back again!
PS. Don't make too much noise at night or you will wake up the neighbor's African watchbird which makes a very interesting warning call.
This home is wonderful. From the views to the location. There was plenty of room for our family of 5. Kitchen has everything you need & beds were very comfortable. 3 grocery stores within minutes of the house. Main St only 5 minutes away & of course plenty of hiking in the area. Catherine was very easy to deal with & always responded to emails quickly. I would highly recommend this home.
We stayed here for a week in April 2017. We've stayed in many Homeaway/VRBO properties over the past decade. We recommend this home for your Sedona trip as it nails almost all of the basics and has a tremendous view and location.
. Amazing view.. truly panoramic and gorgeous at all times of the day.
. Quiet and great location. No road noise -- the house is located back up in a residential neighborhood just below the Airport Loop trail, yet you're 3 minutes from grocery stores and restaurants, despite crazy Sedona traffic! (who knew?)
. Private. Although there are neighbors close by, there are no sightlines into the home from other homes.
. Well-stocked kitchen. Multiple sets of dishes, and all implements, bowls, and utensils you will need, plus a blender, toaster, microwave, good gas range, etc.
. Good beds. The beds were very comfortable with no squeaking frames or springs. There was a good selection of blankets to get your sleeping temperature just right.
. HVAC works well. We weren't there for weather extremes, but we ran the heat a couple of times and the AC once. There is also a gas fireplace which we did not attempt to use.
. The two non-master bedrooms and bathroom are a bit "scuffy." Meaning, they could use a nice coat of paint (walls, doors, closets, etc). Carpet is also on the back nine of its service life. Not a dirty feeling, but a bit more "well-used" than we're used to seeing.
. Slow Internet. Less than 2MB down, which means no streaming of anything (we travel with a Roku stick to watch baseball and an occasional family movie in the evening) on the very small TV in the living room. Cost to go to a faster Internet package would be very, very minimal -- on the order of an additional $30 a month. This should be an easy fix.
. On our trip we had an issue with the non-master bathroom shower not giving consistently warm water. It was luke-warm at times and very warm (not hot) at times. We guessed correctly that it's on a separate hot water heater from the master bathroom (which WAS consistently hot). We alerted the owners (who responded quickly but had no answer). This issue should be looked into and fixed.
Overall, RECOMMENDED. The views were amazing and the in-town privacy was great. The home covers all of the basics and was clean, but it is not luxe in any way other than that truly amazing vista. The owners are very communicative, nice people.
We stayed for the month of March in this wonderful house. We never tired of looking at the gorgeous views of the red rocks and the changing skies from all of the large windows. The house is very roomy and allows for plenty of privacy with bedrooms on each end of the house. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The owners were very responsive to all questions and needs and easy to work with. We will be back again as we had a great experience and love Sedona.
The house offered everything we needed. Great size and great views.
We stayed the month of September in this wonderful house. We use vrbo each year and this was the highlight of the past 5 years.
The view when you enter the front door is a astounding.
The house has everything you need to ensure a most comfortable and relaxing time.
I love to cook and it had every gadget I needed and more.
It is in a perfect location to town and trails and we will be returning.
The owners are very responsive if their are questions.
Thanks for letting us enjoy your wonderful house.
The pictures of this amazing house were just not fair! We have rented many homes through VRBO and this was one of the best in regard to layout, views, and was THE BEST of any home we have been in as to the well-stocked kitchen. Having two master suites on opposite ends of the house is an ideal set-up for a two-generation family vacation! There was tons of floor space for the toddlers to roam and play. The crowning feature of this home is the open deck that runs the entire length of the back of the house and is accessed from the living room in the center and from either master bedroom. The views to the north of Coffeepot and Chimney Rocks and countless other formations are breathtaking. We took dozens of pictures – sunrise, sunset, as we ate meals on the deck, from the various windows from the kitchen, dining area and living room. The north wall is essentially glass. We within easy access of restaurants, stores, hiking trails, and parks. We had never been to Sedona before and are now eager to return for more ‘exploring’. The owners, Catherine and James Scheele, are wonderful to work with and were helpful at every step of the way. They are gracious and knowledgeable and responded to all queries and comments promptly. Can’t wait to go back, and will try to rent this home again.
Centrally located in West Sedona, 10 minutes walk to numerous restaurants and grocery stores, yet sufficienty far from traffic for quiet relaxation with magnificent panoramic views of the mountains enveloping Sedona.
