We are both real estate professionals who live in Dallas, Texas and have fallen in love with the charm, weather, culture and views that Sayulita has to offer. Someday we hope to retire and spend many months at Casa Gardenia, but until then, we want to share our dream home with others who love the quaint Mexican Village of Sayulita!
Tom and Rebecca Smolik purchased this house in 2012
After owning a condo in Puerto Vallarta, we discovered the authentic charm of Sayulita. We decided we had to become 'locals', so we purchased a piece of land with a stunning view and spent three years building our dream home.
Our casa offers a spacious, open floor plan on one level without having to maneuver up and down countless stairs. Each room in the casa provides a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean. During the warmer months, you remain very comforable in our entirely A/C casa. Enjoy unique stairwell access to the beach, located right next to Casa Gardenia.
I just wanted to reach out and say thank you for sharing your beautiful home! We truly enjoyed EVERY moment at Casa Gardenia. I have to say we were both overwhelmed with the view. I travel A LOT for work and get to stay at some amazing hotels and resorts and they have nothing on Casa Gardenia – we are already planning a trip next year!
My wife and I just spent 10 days at Casa Gardenia and we really enjoyed the entire experience. This home is very nice and appointed with beautiful wood tables, chairs and wonderful vases that are gorgeous. The kitchen is first class with all the up to date appliances. The towels are very nice and heavy. The pillows are very soft and comfortable. The beds were a bit hard for us but everything else about this Villa is very nice. The pool was cooler which we loved as it got very hot during the day and to have a pool like this was invigorating. The VIEW is SUPERB and relaxing. We did not watch too much TV but it was there if you need to get back to reality. The beach was nice. The town of Sayulita is very busy with lots of activity with people eating at all the restaurants. We left a list for all to see and visit. The town of San Poncho...AKA San Fransisco is very quite and the Barracuda restaurant is the the best and has TUNA that is AAAAA+++. Try it. Nelson who is the house attendant is a great person and has a wonderful family and he waited for us to arrive at the Subway on Rt 200 just outside of Sayulita. He introduced us to a couple of restaurants that were incredible and priced right...$18 for 3 people, 5 tacos and 4 beers. Awesome. If you want to chill and relax, this is the right Villa. We also did the Zip line and this was great. We recommend that you buy the Tequila at the end of the tour as this was the best Tequila that we have ever had in our lives, ever!!!
My wife and I recently spent a WONDERFUL week in Sayulita and we were lucky enough to have stayed at Casa Gardenia. From the moment you walk in it's WOW! The spectacular home the spectacular view it's All BREATHTAKING! Everything is arranged to add to the comfort of your stay and to make everything as easy and effortless as possible so as to maximize the enjoyment of your time in Sayulita. We loved the little town and were able to enjoy some out of the way surf spots and little secret places THANKS to LALO and ADAM at Gecko car rental. Rebecca even suggested we try La Palapa restaurant in Puerto Vallarta and we had a WONDERFUL meal and evening there with a front row seat for a spectacular sunset! We will definitely return to Sayulita and we won't consider staying anywhere but Casa Gardenia and renting our vehicle from anyone but Gecko. THANKS Rebecca and Tom you made EVERYTHING better for our trip.
My husband and I stayed at Casa Gardenia as part of our honeymoon and it was pure bliss. Having all of the doors on the back side of the house open made for magical breezes and amazing views. I had been worried I wouldn't be able to hear the waves since it's up the hill but boy can you--and it's wonderful! The furniture is all extremely comfortable and well appointed. We often brought leftover home from dinner or lunch (or just got burritos from Burrito Revolution) and had breakfast and lunches at the Casa. The kitchen is great and being able to drink the water out of the fridge was a huge bonus. The hill up to the house is a little precarious but not really any worse than you'd expect and our little 2 wheel drive VW made it fine. Sayulita itself is delightful and charming, you couldn't ask for more. Nelson was great and super helpful getting us settled. I recommend the Casa to anyone and everyone!
As soon as you enter the home, your breath will be taken away by the view. The entire rear of the home opens up and allows you to really maximize the view and take it all in. I cannot stress just how beautiful the view is.
Tom and Rebecca were very accommodating to our party making a few minor exceptions for us. Thanks Tom & Rebecca!
The home has absolutely everything you'll need and want, my fav. part was being able to grill outside with my fav. music playing in the background and cold Mexican beer always in hand while watching my family enjoy the pool and the view.
The town is not far, but we took a taxi about 85% of the time due to the climb of the hill, but the view more than makes up for it.
We loved Sayulita and Casa Gardenia made it just so perfect and memorable!
Thank you so much!
Casa Gardenia was a great choice for our Christmas break. It's a beautiful, well equipped home with fantastic views. We were treated to gorgeous sunsets and were lucky enough to see whales in the bay. The Smoliks have created a wonderful indoor/outdoor living space. We thank them for sharing it with us.
We stayed for 4 nights in November, and loved everything about it. The views were amazing, the home had everything you could ask for. Because it was in the tree canopy, we were able to see some beautiful birds and wildlife. It is quite high up on the hill, but made for an excellent morning workout with a refreshing cool down in the spectacular infinity pool to look forward to at the end! The town was a lot of fun, nice to have a quiet haven to come back to at the end of a long surfing/shopping/dining day...
Sayulita is located on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, approximately 45 minutes north of the Puerto Vallarta airport. Puerto Vallarta (PVR) is an international airport with many flights in and out of the US and Canada each day.
