We very much enjoyed the openness of this condo! Pretty much everything we needed was provided. The view of the golf course is great and pretty private as well.
Very nice place, fit our needs well
We're thankful for the opportunity to utilize the property as our base camp. It is a very nice facility. We felt safe and secure in the village and generally enjoyed ourselves. This was our first VRBO experiance and that came with some learning lessons on both ends. After booking we were informed that the owner actually wished not to have young kids on site, as they had experianced issues in the past. Their reasons were fair enough, the lanai opens directly to the golf course among other things. After a short discussion they did agree to allow us to rent the property. With that in mind we attempted to be considerate of our surroundings. The neighbors were nice and its in a quite area. It does sit on a main road so you could hear morning traffic when the windows were open. Inside is nearly emaculate, keeping in mind that it is an older, probably late 80's to early 90's complex. With some creativeness we were able to sleep 7 (4 adults and 3 kids under 7). It was cozy but comfortable. As an active family we pretty much spent breakfasts and evenings there, the rest of the time we were on the go. There are probably places that would have been more suitable for our sort of trip, namely 3 kids, however this met our needs well. It would be perfect for 2 couples who are looking to enjoy a relaxing time on the Big Island. The kitchen was stocked with typical kitchen items, no condiments or seasonings. This may be the norm for VRBOs everywhere. But it is a long way from town so if your flying in and grabbing stuff in Kona before you head out grab that stuff too. The bathrooms were fully stocked and the on site care taker assisted with items we were running low on. All in all the owners were fair to work with and we were very thankful for the opportunity to enjoy the Big Island.
Great vacation condo
Great vacation place. Close to the beach and stores,food and more. Highly recommend staying at this wonderful condo and the property manager made the stay a lot better with all of the help she provided for my family and I.
Best Choice to know Big Island
Last year I stayed on Oahu island, and this year we planned to stay 3 weeks on Big Island. Plan was not to lock ourselves to a single ocean view for $$$$, but rather spend a budget to drive around and explore the island ourselves. This rental turned out to be an excellent choice. We lived in unit 103 (the one pictured above). Unit in on the first floor of a house with 4 total apartments and has two bedrooms each with its own bath and pretty big living room with sofa, large LCD tv and fully equipped kitchen. House itself is not looking like a simple condo, but rather a villa - it has stone and glass exterior, is surrounded with very nice trees and looks very very nice. Two things that we were afraid of on a hawaian island were - the wind from the ocean on the windward coast and - instant sun making coast hot desert on the leeward coast. Waikoloa turned out to be excellent location - only short 6 miles to leeward coast with excellent beaches, it has 1000feet elevation and sun through clouds for most of the time. We got couple days of instant sun and nothing like a real rain. Apartment is pristine clean, kitchen is fully staffed, and it has dishwasher, washer and drier - not always present. Also internally it has some designer's elements like pictures, photos, small souvenires, making it feel nice. One thing missing is AC, but we only missed it couple of wind-less nights. Appartment has one bedroom watching golf fields and another one watching Paniolo street. Sun is raising from golf fields and setting over Paniolo street, so bedroom watching Paniolo street is cooler. But it gathers noise from Paniolo street. Big Island collects winds on all south and west coasts. In addition, west coast is all cliffs with very few beaches suitable to swim. North coast has Waipio and Pololu walley with beaches, but they are not very swimmer friendly - winds, stones and currents make it dangerous and not so pleasant. Tuned out that Waikoloa is an easy 10 minutes drive to the beast beaches on the island, and 1.5hour drive to anywhere on an island. Just what we were looking for. Tim and Mary were very accomodating, they provided us with the best deal in town for our rental, they gave us access to discount golf, tennis and swimming pool (that we did not really use - so much interesting places were around us and reachable), but more importantly they gave us late checkout option, thus it was a full extra day of enjoyment without a hassle to sit on the suitcases.
The best beaches on the big island are all located within a 10 mile radius of the Paniolo club. Wakoloa is the sunniest section of the island all year long
