Perfectly located in Manchester's Village- a quick walk to town, the beach and train! Artfully decorated home with a big heart and designer details. Recently added chef's kitchen right out of Metropolitan Home magazine- with Statuario marble counters and inset, farmhouse -style cabinetry! Also, newly converted outdoor living room with vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, flat screen TV, 2 couches & french doors open to bluestone patio with Beacon Hill style garden, lush greenery & kid's playset. This home features 3 stylish bedrooms and the outdoor living room can be used as a private 4th bedroom. Come enjoy everything Manchester by-the-Sea has to offer- all within walking distance of this special home- truly a hidden sanctuary.
Wow! I cannot say enough about this lovely home! We loved the feel of the home, the layout, the proximity to downtown and the wedding venue, the modern decor...comfortable yet chic...and mostly we loved being together in a home rather than having to stay at a hotel. The opportunity to enjoy the backyard outdoor space was perfect for my grown children as we sat around the picnic table to chat, but it would have been perfect for a family with younger children as there was also a play structure in the backyard. We enjoyed sitting around the kitchen island and in the living room as an additional gathering spots for coffee and Dunkin Donuts in the morning (just a short walk from the home...no Dunkin Donuts near our house!). It was a pleasure dealing with the homeowners; they were courteous, professional, and prompt in contacting us regarding our rental inquiries. If you plan on visiting the Manchester-by-the-Sea area, I HIGHLY recommend this home as it only enriched and enhanced our family's time together. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us!!
My wife and I rented this house for Labor Day week and my brother and his wife joined us from NYC. We all loved the modern design with a newly renovated kitchen. There is a nice outdoor area where we grilled and eat dinner. Also was just steps from a park where we walked our dog and played tennis. The downtown was just down the street the other way with restaurants, a grocery market and a train to the city. We could even walk to Singing beach so we didn't have to pay for parking. Great way to end the summer!
We rent houses often and use sights like VRBO quite extensively. Generally we are pleased, and think rentals by owner are a great alternative to hotels.
I can not recommend this rental for a number of reasons.
-Nice outdoor dining space.
-Beautiful beach somewhat nearby.
-Cute town in walking distance.
-There is NOT a 4th bedroom. The basement is partially finished and serves as the only TV room, but also has a bed in it. Very strange set up.
-There is literally no outdoor space beyond the dining area. To be fair, the owner mentioned the yard was small ahead of time, but it is smaller then you could imagine.
-This is apparently the owner's full time house. Many of the closets were overstuffed with clothes and had notes on them reading"do not use". The refridgerator was also full of the owner's food and there was no room for any of our items.
-This property is within walking distance to town, but is NOT within walking distance to the beach. Also, if you are unfamiliar with the beach, you can not park anywhere near it (closest we found was a half mile away) unless you have a resident pass, which is not provided.
All things considered, this rental was in many ways not as described, and not up to the standards of many of the other rentals we have used in the past.
