Our family of 5 stayed at this villa from 5/27/12 to 6/4/12. The villa was exactly as advertised. The villa is very spacious and well thought out. Of note is that most rooms including the guest house have their own separate keyed entrance which is great when vacationing with more than one family. The villa is also very airy with several large windows and huge sliding doors that give the feeling of vacationing al-fresco. Another refreshing feature is that the house runs mainly on solar power which for those of us green consumers is a nice bonus. The master suite was breathtaking with its private terrace and huge sliding doors which opened up almost a 180 degree open panorama to the warm Med. breezes. The surrounding land was abundant which made exploring the flora and fauna very fun for our girls. The staff and property management were extremely friendly and professional which made us feel right at home. Lastly the people of both Brac island and Croatia in general some of the kindest, most generous people I have met anywhere in the world. I have already recommended both the country and this villa specifically to our friends and give this place 5 enthusiastic stars.
Beautiful villa, wonderful location and amazing help from Martina looking after us all. Everything about the villa is superb, the lay out, the pool, the gardens, access to the sea, a lovely cycle into Milna and around Brac and trips to the other islands off the stunning coast of Croatia. The organisation before we arrived, during our stay and on departure was superb.
Listing 100% accurate, villa beautifully maintained, great customer service, certainly recommend, and the surrounding area wonderful. We hope to be back! Thank you.
We have just enjoyed a truly exceptional week in Villa Duboka. The villa itself is wonderful, with every facility that might be needed. The short walk down to the most beautiful bay takes it to another level. Whilst we had a couple of great boat trips with a skipper organised by the incredible Martina we perhaps missed a trick by not renting our own boat to visit the numerous unspoiled bays to be found around the coast.
The details on the website are accurate, and we have but one criticism . A week allowed us to explore the island which grew on us the more we saw. Quad bikes for the tracks around the coast, swimming in the quiet bays that can still be found even in August and a trip to the Senjkovic winery were among the highlights.
As for the criticism perhaps the photographs on the website don't quite capture how glorious this villa is. The only solution is to go back next year!
Very well run Villa away from the crowds of August holiday makers. We hired a scooter, 2 X foot foot boats and on 2 occasions a speed boat all delivered efficiently to the Villa thanks to Martina , the superb Villa manager. We enjoyed 2 very tasty evening meals out on the candle lit main terrace cooked by the brought in chef. A truly wonderful week enjoying all the numerous facilities of Villa Duboka.
Enjoyed a very relaxing week at this well thought-out and stylish villa. Some fantastic views, especially from master suite. Loved being able to go through the steep, wooded garden straight down to the sea at the little mooring where you can soak up some sun or jump into the crystal clear water. Villa designed to get lots of natural breeze so no air con was not a problem. Duboka Bay itself is a beautiful bay with a small settlement. Milna, nearby (5 mins drive away) is a sweet, somewhat sleepy harbour with a selection of restaurants, a small market and all that is needed for food shopping etc. Martina, who manages the property, is very helpful and on hand to help book restaurants, organise trips or a cook etc. Highly recommended.
We had a truly wonderful time at Villa Duboka. Martina was magnificent in looking after us. She was really lovely and was always there when we needed something! We can highly recommend this villa - everything was excellent especially the kayaks, SUP, swimming platform, wifi, TV, lovely views....and Martina - always there when you need something!
We had the most amazing vacation staying in Villa Duboka for 1 week. Our intention was to find a house to relax in before embarking on a busy boat cruise and Villa Duboka exceeded in all our expectations
We were 2 families, the kids ranging in age from 9 to 16. Both Gavin, the owner and Martina, the house manager were wonderful in helping us prepare for the vacation. Martina couldn't do enough for us and was ready to help in any way possible.
The house has its own dock on the very private Duboka bay. There are many outdoor areas for relaxing and playing including table tennis and a badminton court. The 3 kayaks and paddle board kept the kids entertained the entire week.
The village of Milna is a 5 minute drive by car, providing a farmers market, fresh fish caught daily by the local fisherman and the basic essentials. There are also many restaurants providing delicious local food
If you are looking for an experience of an authentic Croatian village, where the olive oil, wine and many other foods are homemade, this is the place to go to for your vacation
The sleepy village of Milna, just 2 km from the villa, comes alive in the spring and summer with yachts from all over the world. Local olive oil, wine and port tastings are a must in the village. Visit the local vegetable and fruit market, bakery and wine cellar and buy your fresh fish directly off the fishing boats in the morning.
Open air cafes line the harbour and the local restaurants serve Dalmatian specialities including Brac lamb, local grilled fish and peka made in traditional stone ovens. Milna Harbour is the bay of a thousand ships - safe harbour to ships large and small for over 400 years. One of the original coastal villages on Brac, Milna has always been a centre of culture and commerce.
Today yachts from around the world are drawn to Milna for its unspoiled village life, sheltered bays, spectacular boating and exclusive island lifestyle.
