About the property

2 Bedrooms, 3 full baths with Mountain and Valley views.

Fully furnished and equipped with everything you need for your stay. Just bring food and clothes and be ready for a great time.

Centrally located in the heart of the Continental Divide, the home is located in the town of Alma. The highest Incorporated Town in North America.

My home has three levels:

The 1st level has the garages and entry area, with ample room for boots and coats. Laundry facilities are also on this level with washer and dryer. Laundry soap and fabric softener provided.

The 2nd level is the living area of the home. The living room has a sofa, two love seats, chair and ottoman. There is a big tv, vcr, dvd with Dish Network (HBO included), and a gas fireplace. A door leads to the back deck with a grill and table with chairs with a beautiful view of the national forest. A full bath is located on this floor as well. The other side of this level has a large log table with chairs (8), and a full gourmet kitchen with basic spices, coffee, filters, and condiments, a Dish washer, toaster, coffee maker, and disposal.

The 3rd floor has two large bedrooms, both with full walk-in closets and full bathrooms. The Master Suite has a queen bed and a full bath. The other has a bunk bed with twin on top and full size on the bottom. There is also a day bed in this room with a roll out trundle. You can use these twin beds seperately, or push them together and make a king.

About Robert Gartner

I live in South Denver. I have lived in Colorado for 26 years. I have owned this vacation home since it was new, bought from the builder.

Robert Gartner purchased this house in 1999

Why Robert Gartner chose South Central Colorado

My home is very warm and comfortable. Since it's literally in the center of Colorado, you can easily get to any of the attractions that Colorado has to offer. A beautiful and short commute of 16 miles takes you to the ski areas. Drive a little - save a lot.

What makes this house unique

Alma is a wonderful town, the highest zip code in N. America. It has two eateries / pubs, a wonderful coffee and breakfast shop, the semi-world-famous AL-Mart, and several unique gift shops, and a liquor store.

Great place to stay!!!

  • 5 of 5

This is a great place to stay if you are looking to hike or ski in the Breckenridge area without paying the Breckenridge prices. The owner is very helpful and provides you with everything you could need at the cabin. Would stay there again without hesitation.

Couldn't have asked for anything more

  • 5 of 5

This house rental was perfect for our four wheeling trip to Colorado. Robert was very easy to work with and very informative about the location and the area surrounding the rental. It is a quiet, off the beaten track rental that delivered exactly what we needed for our family of five. The rooms are spacious with more than enough room for everyone. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and more! Thanks for the great stay, very nice place to come "home" to for the week!

Cozy, well maintained cabin in the mountains

Robert is the perfect host. Clean house, cozy, well stocked. We loved the location being close to Breckinridge and also Buena Vista. Bedrooms are large, 3 bathrooms makes things super convenient, really well stocked kitchen. Sorry to leave!

Beautiful Area/Home

  • 5 of 5

We had an extremely pleasant stay at Robert's home in Alma! This house is extremely spacious and has a beautiful view from out the windows, overlooking the mountain range. It is only 20mins from Breckenridge and made for a perfect skiing/snowboarding trip! Robert was very helpful and had good communication while booking. While Alma is small, it is a very warm town and has a mart and great bar/restaurant (South Park Saloon). We found our stay to be very enjoyable without paying the premium as if we would have stayed in Breckenridge. While you never want to complain about snow during a ski trip, it may be difficult to navigate up the road that the house is located on if you do not have a 4-wheel drive vehicle; Robert did mention that, and he was correct :)

Again, would definitely suggest staying here. Thanks!
