Always wanted to own a Brownstone home in Manhattan...love the old charm...I have been able to mix the old with the new without the property losing its old charm....also the neighborhood is a very lovely quiet tree-lined block.
The foyer is one of beauty......the craftsmanship of all the beautiful wood-work in these type of homes is not seen anymore..from the pocket doors to the French shutters etc.
Our host was very accomodating and we would definitely stay there again. Located on a quiet, residential street with grocery and restaurants nearby. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and great living space. A wonderful value! Plenty of room for me, hubby and two adult daughters. We will definitely be back!
We were looking for space and quiet for two couples in NYC. We found it here in a really cool brownstown in Harlem. Tastefully refurbished by friendly and helpful owner Chet, we had a clean and comfort place to spread out in the morning and at the end of the day. Subway station to anywhere is less than 10 minute walk. Walkable to Columbia U, Apollo Theater, and great soul food at Sylvia’s. Wonderfully different experience than a mid-town Manhattan hotel, and super reasonable!
We loved the fact this was a brownstone, well kept, with beautiful wood floors and wood trim. The location near two subway lines worked well, get the Metro pass. The kitchen could be a little bit better equipped. We had two couples staying and were very comfortable.
Great places to be based in Manhattan. Just a few blocks from the subway. Chet is very hospitable. Neighborhood is quiet and tree-lined.
Not only was the apartment clean and just as charming as the photos, Chet was more than helpful. He was there when I checked in early, spent time showing me how to enter, appliances, TV, wifi, and gave me a list of recommended places to eat in the neighborhood. Everything worked well, especially the air conditioning which was so important in July!
The neighborhood overall was quiet and peaceful. The location was a little far for us as we spent the majority of our time in Manhattan, only about 20-30 by subway. It was just a couple of blocks to the subway and it was not hard to maneuver. Recommend this for those on a budget!
My friends & I were visiting NYC for our annual "girls trip." The accommodations were just as advertised. Clean, spacious & convient to the subway. Chet was an awesome person to work with, even giving us information for easy access to the subway & when we arrived for check-in he was there waiting on us .We plan on visiting NYC again & will definitely be staying in this Brownstone !!!
Lovely neighborhoods of turn-of-the-19th century buildings...historic churches and parks as well as a variety of restaurants within walking distance...subways are a two to three block walk....Times Square is a 15 minute subway ride...Wall Street is a 25 minute subway ride...grocery stores are within a two or three block walk
