Lovely in-law priced for longer stays.

Sunny and beautiful in-law unit high in the hills of Kensington, between Berkeley and El Cerrito. Nestled in the trees but with plenty of light. Fully-furnished, many amenities including private in-unit W/D (no TV). Separate entrance.

Large living area with decorative fireplace, dining table, and private deck overlooking shared yard (with occasional deer).

Large bedroom with queen bed. Full bath with shower (no tub). Galley kitchen with lots of light, overlooking shared yard.

Unit is downstairs from owners, including an energetic 6-year-old boy. Extra sound-proofing work done, but sound of children will occasionally travel.

Having a car or using rideshare (Uber, Lyft) is strongly recommended. Easy street parking available. 15-minute walk downhill to neighborhood shops on The Arlington. 10-minute walk to Tilden park. 3 miles from UCB. Transbay bus & #7 bus (to downtown Berkeley, BART) stop 4 blocks away.

Minimum 32 days.

Homey and comfortable apartment for travel healthcare professionals

My boyfriend and I stayed at Carla's place during my travel assignment in the east bay. We loved the basement apartment. The place is homey, comfortable, and fully functional. Carla is always prompt with communication. Carla and Zack are very friendly, and great host. We definitely recommend the home for healthcare travelers or someone needing a longer stay.

Travel RN working in Oakland. This place is just perfect!

Carla and Zach (her son) are lovely people. If you have any issues at all, Carla is readily available to answer your questions or look for ways to accommodate! The space is large, very clean, and well decorated. The unit has a separate entrance, washer & dryer, includes dishes, garbage disposal, linens, and strong wifi. Kensington is a safe area and short drive (15 mins or so) into downtown Berkeley or to CA-24.

It's obvious the sound proofing has been done but some sound does indeed travel. My experience though is that the unit is completley quiet except in the mornings when everyone is trying to get out the door!

I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

1. Smoking is not allowed, inside of or outside on the property.
2. Pets are not allowed.
3. Guests should not create excessive noise at a level that disturbs neighbors.
4. Keep the property and all furnishings in good order. Notify Owner of any damage.
5. Vehicles are to be parked in legal street spaces only. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner.
6. Garbage: All garbage must be stowed in the proper garbage or recycling receptacle, located at the side of the house, and brought to the curb Monday mornings before 9 A.M.
7. Fireplace: The fireplace is decorative only. No fires may be built in fireplace.
8. Housekeeping is included every two weeks, on Fridays. It includes: changing linens on the bed, washing linens (bathroom & kitchen towels, sheets), vacuuming entire unit, washing floors, dusting hard surfaces, cleaning kitchen and bathroom, removing trash. It excludes personal laundry and dishes.
9. Housekeeping Access: the housekeepers have keys to access the unit, and will do so only at a scheduled time. If the Guest needs to reschedule housekeeping, Guest must give Homeowner 24 hours notice.
10. Homeowner Access: Guest shall allow Homeowner access to the property for purposes of repair and inspection, including of note the hot water and furnace for the entire building. Homeowner shall exercise this right of access in a reasonable manner.
11. Homeowner is not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the property’s premises or its facilities. The Homeowner is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 7 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
