The Lakehouse and its property allow for relaxing fun such as badminton, bocce, fishing, swimming, and just plain lazing about
This rancher-style home has 3 bedrooms with one and a half baths and will comfortably hold any family. There is a beautiful view of the lake from the living room and dining room as well as the large sundeck off the back of the house.
You can relax on the deck, in the hot-tub, on a lawn–chair or in the hammock. Take a walk to the water’s edge where you’ll find birds, turtles, beavers and more. A canoe is provided for your enjoyment and this area of the lake is renowned for its great bass and trout fishing - you can even fish from the dock! A 100’ boardwalk leads you to a 10’ x 20’ dock - perfect for swimming off of, sunbathing or just plain hanging out and gazing at the lake. There is no sandy beach, but easy access to the water is from a ladder on the dock.
This home makes for a great family holiday destination, or a romantic retreat. The kitchen is fully equipped, just bring your favourite fixings and enjoy.
Sleeping up to six, the house features a family oriented sleeping arrangement and has two bedrooms with a comfortable queen size bed in each and a third bedroom with comfy twin bunk beds.
The private dock receives full all day sun with lots of room to spread out or kick back and relax with a good book. Adirondack chairs on the back deck offer an opportunity to be closer to the house and enjoy the lake view. Enjoy meals on the picnic table on the deck.
Excellent fishing (sorry no gas motors) and warm swimming waters await! The village of Ganges is only 10 minuntes away where you can visit the famous Saturday market where Saltspring artisans, bakers, and growers gather to sell their creations or enjoy the many shops and restaurants. Family memories start here!!
There is one full bathroom with a tub/shower and an ensuite with a sink and toilet. Double sliding doors in the living area open to a large deck that runs the length of the house with a hot tub just outside the doors. Wake up with the sun while sipping coffee from this peaceful deck. Gaze across the lake to a horse farm, our large lawn, or to the glistening lake just beyond.
We live in Vancouver, BC less than 100 kms. away from Saltspring Island. We have spent several long periods of time at The Lakehouse with family and friends, and have lovely memories of each one. We enjoy sharing this house with others to discover the special charms of Saltspring.
Devorah Kahn purchased this cottage in 2000
We (middle-aged couple) stayed at Devorah's place for a week between Christmas and New Year and found it cosy enough even when it was pretty cold outside. It's not a fancy apartment but it was clean and comfortable, and it's a nice quiet street. A few minutes' walk to the Skytrain, from where it's only a short trip to a big mall and right into the heart of the city. We had a good time there.
Such a great secluded cabin on St. Mary's lake. We went over Friday to Sunday for a girls weekend, the pictures don't do this property justice!! When we arrived we were in awe, long beautiful back yard, with a cute cat who hung around, deer and goats!! Very cool to say the least! Perfect deck to have a few glasses of wine and late night hot tub. I could go on and on but should wrap this up. I highly recommend the stay at this beautiful lake house cabin!
The cottage / house is full of light and is very comfortable.
Close to shopping and great farm stands.
The swimming is divine.
Loved lying on the dock at night during Perseid meteor shower - millions of stars with lots of streaks!
The hot tub was perfect and set me up for a well deserved rest.
Great, comfortable house in a great location, right on a beautiful lake.
The house is big and bright, with plenty of room to hang out. Close to town and amenities such as shopping, movie house, golfing, etc.
Nice big kitchen, with everything you may need to cook up a feast.Comfortable beds, patio furniture is good for al fresco eating. A nice barbecue, hammocks and a great hot tub round out the outside.
A great getaway spot.
We have stayed in this comfortable property several times. If one is looking for somewhere to chill out for awhile this is the place. From enjoying a glass of wine on the deck looking at the lake at sunset, reading a book in the hammock or bird watching this place is a great base for a Saltspring Island vacation. You can go for a swim during the day or a paddle in the canoe. Late nights in the hot tub are great for spotting shooting stars! The kitchen is well stocked and sleeping arrangements are comfortable. We've enjoyed our stays and plan to be back again.
Our group of 8 stayed at the Lakehouse over the May long weekend. The lakehouse was exactly like it was described and pictured. The property is in a great location; so close to town and yet feels quiet and private, situated on the waterfront. Clean and well-maintained, welcoming and warm. We were there for a sports tournament but we made it into town for the Saturday market which was absolutely amazing!!
The owner was quick to answer any questions I had; communication was easy.
I would recommend this property for anyone; our party had a wide range of ages (<1 - 55) and was enjoyed by all.
