This is the ONLY single family home in the GARDEN DISTRICT. Look at the map closely. You will see tons of FALSE advertising. The GARDEN DISTRICT is 5 x 8 blocks which are the borders of St. Charles, Louisiana Magazine & Jackson. Nearly every VRBO property listed in the Garden District is NOT in the Garden District. Lower Garden District is a totally different world and is NOT patrolled by the private Garden District Security. Properties north of St Charles tend to be in ROUGH areas. ABOUT OUR PROPERTY: Executive home on the premier street, St Charles avenue, with the premier location in New Orleans. This is a really, really nice property that just completed a very high end renovation. This is not an 'animal house'. We do not permit bachelor parties or single night usage. It is a property meant for those responsible and mature. This property means a lot to our family and we are select in offering our property. 3 bedrooms + very large media room that can serve as another bedroom all with brand new memory foam mattresses. Master suite includes a private living area and over-sized walk-in dressing room. 3.5 baths are tastefully decorated. Eye opening living room and stunning dining room with wet bar/icemaker and wide open kitchen includes all modern appliances. This is an impressive place to entertain. Wireless internet and the finest security system complement the 24 hour neighborhood security along with an iron gate for up to 2 parked cars. The famous streetcar stops directly in front of the property with the city bus stopping only a few feet farther. Buy a $3 jazzy pass for 24 hour, unlimited streetcar and bus transportation and you can reach any part of the city in minutes. French quarter/downtown takes about 5 minutes. You do not need to rent a car. One block to the world famous Commander's Palace restaurant, Lafayette cemetery and all the mansion walking tours. The most concentrated section of restaurants, bars and shops on magazine street are only a few blocks. Nearly every visitor to New Orleans will walk by this property, thus if you enjoy people watching, then this really adds to the ambiance.

Beautiful home in a great location!

We stayed here for JazzFest with some friends this year. The location could not have been better! The trolley was right outside the door. Commanders Palace was virtually around the corner within easy walking distance. The home itself had everything that we needed, plenty of space and all amenities......will definitely stay here again!

Fantastic Honeymoon Stay

My husband and I stayed here for just shy of a week to celebrate our honeymoon in the Big Easy. The house was beautiful and was much more than we needed in regards to size, and could have easily accommodated a much larger group. The Garden District location is perfect. You walk across St. Charles and can easily catch a streetcar to The French Quarter. Cabs are also easily accessible. If you are willing to walk a few blocks, there are countless restaurants on Magazine. The kitchen is fully equipped, and there is a market a few blocks away if you feel like making a home cooked meal. We didn't use it for more than making popcorn. There is a nice cozy family room on the top floor where you can crash after eating too much and watch a movie. I cannot say enough about how nice our stay here was. I hope to eventually come back and would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful family getaway!

We spent the weekend with the family for business and pleasure and truly enjoyed ourselves. The home is beautiful and spacious. Perfect for groups, several couples or a large family group. We have a large family and our children played outside in the courtyard watching the streetcar and there is a small enclosed patio in back for seating and getting some outdoor time.

The streetcar access is amazing! There are great shops nearby and everything else can be reached by walking or riding the streetcar.

Homeowners were exceptional and easy to work with and very helpful in making suggestions for sightseeing and eateries.

Staying here gives a taste of New Orlean's best, avoids the big crowds and craziness of the Quarter, yet still allows for access and touring of the traditional NOLA in a safer family oriented neighborhood. We will definitely stay here again when we visit New Orleans.

Girls' Weekend!

A few friends and a few cousins and I stayed at this beautiful home for a girls weekend trip to New Orleans, and to visit our cousin in law school at Tulane. Our collective priorities were location (check!) and sleeping space/prep space for ladies so that we wouldn't be fighting for bathrooms or taking 4 hours to get ready in the morning/evening (the 3.5 bathrooms had that covered!). The neighborhood is stellar and most areas were very walk-able; it was also easy to get cabs, and the rail is right out the door.

We also used the kitchen a bit for breakfast and lunch, which was a plus as it's all top of the line. Everything overall, for that matter, is top of the line: comfortable beds and couches, a big kitchen table, beautiful fixtures and bathrooms, and more. There's even a bit of an outdoor area. Everything was super-clean and nice. I will say, I think they're trying to keep it that way (per the contract we signed), understandably, which is why I didn't check the box here for "families with young children."

The owners are really nice people who greeted us and showed us around, even giving us tips for dinner and drinks and such much like a concierge.

Spoiler alert: the owners left us a basket of goodies, snacks, and beer upon our arrival! B-b-b-b-bonus!

Excellent Choice!

Great location and wonderful accommodations! My wife and I once lived in the New Orleans area and have made many trips back to the old city over the years. This trip is one of the most enjoyable visits we have ever had and this spacious, spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated townhouse in the Garden District was a major factor: comfortable accommodations, attractive and quiet neighborhood, gated parking, transportation readily available (Street Car stop directly in front of Townhouse, easy-access to taxis), pleasant and helpful owners, restaurants and cafes within walking distance (two blocks to Commander’s Palace and a short walk to Magazine Street with its array of restaurants and cafés) and the opportunity to step outside for a leisurely stroll among the lovely old homes that makes this area so unique. Highly recommended!

Great location and beautiful home

This house is amazing in regards to location and beauty. The house is clean and feels like you stepped into a Southern Living magazine. Located on St. Charles by the trolley it is easy to get anywhere and Magazine street is a few blocks walk away. Also, up the street, about two blocks away is the famous Commander's Palace restaurant. The home is classy with plenty of room and a lovely kitchen that was filled with New Orleans beads and goodies when we arrived. The owner's are helpful with recommendations of things to do in the area and new restaurants close by. They answered any questions and were there when I arrived to show me around. I cannot wait to stay there again. The personal touch is a nice welcome to New Orleans.

Enjoy a private dressing room and en suite bathroom with new gorgeous counter tops. Bedroom 2 has a queen bed with new memory foam mattress. Two closets provide more storage than needed. A flat screen tv for your enjoyment is part of the room's decor. Great views of the people strolling by the grand oaks of the Garden District makes this terrific.
