This townhouse was amazing! And listening to the ocean every night as we went to sleep was incredibly soothing. It is an older townhouse and with the salt water it has a few upkeep items that could be dealt with but all in all it was wonderful and had just undergone some new renovations. We enjoyed it so much we rented it for two of our stays. It's in a great location and right on a small beach. It's about 20 mins from Two Step, right next door to Kahalu'u Beach Park (both excellent snorkel spots that allowed us to do our underwater photography work) and only a few blocks form a great shopping center. Being right on Ali'i drive was nice as we could ride bicycles right down Ali'i and get to almost anything we needed.
Sandi was always very attentive and pleasant with any questions we had along the way and the check in and check out was a breeze. We almost don't want to review the place as we'd like it to be available next time we stay. ;-)
Oh my goodness! I've been coming to the Kailua Kona area since 1991 (about 25 times so far) and have never had such a lovely time. The townhouse is newly renovated with koa cabinets, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, wifi, large Samsung television, Blu Ray player and a killer ocean view! We sat on the lanai and watched whales, dolphins and picture perfect sunsets. The semi-private beach was a huge plus! We had everything that we needed and more. Keauhou Shopping Plaza (KTA grocery store, Long's Drug, L & L Hawaiian BBQ, Keauhou Cinema, etc.) was incredibly close and convenient. Our flight out was later in the day and Jerri was wonderful about late checkout. I highly recommend this rental property: it won't disappoint! Many thanks to Sandy & Jerri. You guys rock!
A great stay! The view of the ocean from our lanai was breathtaking. The townhouse was clean and well maintained. The few problems we had were dealt with right away. Owners will need to upgrade kitchen eventually.
This property and unit are as advertised and pictured, and better. KKS&R is lovely, well maintained and very quiet and pleasant for walking, playing tennis or using the pool. It is just far enough to keep you out of the Ali'i Dr. traffic, but close to everything. Stores and resturants are just up the hill, away from traffic! The coast line is amazing; take your water shoes to walk in the tide pools, enjoy your semi-private beach and see the ancient ruins and petroglyphs at low tide. But the best thing about this property is this unit! I looked at them all and everyone has different needs, but here is why I chose this one and will go back if I get a chance. Ground floor, end unit with extra windows, with big plants around the lanai, and the coast so close the crashing waves are amazing and there's always a breeze. Bedroom and upstairs bath facing this view as well- windows open for breeze and totally private view. 2nd bedroom good sized, generous closets in both. Downstairs bath all new and very handy. Comfy furnishings throughout, lots of fans (we were there in July) nice teak dining set on Lania, plenty of chairs, water toys, etc. Small kitchen with good counter space, lots of dishes, glass ware, bowls, pot's, pans, rice cooker, blender, and more that I didn't even use. They had a pretty good selection of spices and condiments, so do an inventory before you go to the store. We cooked every night, cold water lobster even. And a gas grill on the lanai, although they are also scattered around the property. Get meat and Ahi, etc from Costco and enjoy! Having read a lot of reviews I want to say, as someone who rents many condo's each year, this was great. It has some new things and some not so new, just like any home. All clean and well maintained. If you want a room at a fancy hotel, go for it - this is like a friends home, with all of the benefits of a home. And that view! Thanks Sandy!
Our family of 4, including 2 teenagers, would recommend this accommodation. The booking and check-in were straightforward and the unit was exactly as described. It is not fancy or overly spacious, but had all the necessities and was entirely adequate for us. The view is wonderful and we spent most of our 'home time' on the patio which felt very private even though our neighbours were only a few feet away. The waves crashing at night were both good and bad: they sounded lovely, but did keep us awake a bit. We liked where the townhouse is situated on the island; close to Alii Drive and Kailua Kona and fairly central for day trips exploring the rest of the island. We did not make use of either the pool or tennis courts, but they looked nice for those who would want to make use of those ammenities. Sandy was very pleasant and easy to deal with for the booking, and Jeri was very accommodating with a late checkout time.
My husband and I stayed in this townhouse for ten days along with our best friends. With two bedrooms and two bathrooms, it was perfect for the four of us. The rooms are not very large, but we had all the amenities we could ask for. There was even a package of cookies, some Kona coffee and a box of chocolates for us when we arrived. We LOVE this location...close to Keauhou Shopping Center, Keauhou Bay (where we booked two snorkeling trips), close to the amazing blowhole on the neighboring golf course, and just far enough away from town to keep it quiet and uncrowded. We loved the pool and the tennis courts. Walking on the nearby beach and discovering the petroglyphs there was a real delight. It is an older unit and it was a bit crowded for four around the dining table and in the kitchen. But with the lanai overlooking the ocean, and with the opportunity to eat our breakfasts there looking at the whales spouting, it really cannot be beat. We hope to return some time in the future. Oh, and thanks to Jeri and Sandy for being always being available to answer questions or to fix minor problems. If we could rate this 4.5, we would.

Credit Card - International Tax Fees
International Travelers will have international tax fees withheld from security deposit. For example: credit card processing for VRBO users in United States is 2.9%; international tax fees are an additional 2% totaling 4.9%. Guests using international card will have 2% of total credit card amount charged with-held from security deposit. No charge on domestic (US cards) regular 2.9%; charge on international tax fee only.
Our formal cancellation policy is strict - there are NO refunds. Reservations cancelled 60 or more days prior to arrival can have deposit applied to another stay within one year of original arrival date. Cancellations less than 60 days have NO REFUND.
On an informal note, we understand that the unexpected can happen and would do our best to rebook any cancelled nights/days and try to offer a corresponding refund.
Guests agree to honor all details in RENTAL AGREEMENT upon payment for this rental.
Security Deposit Refunds are set to automatically refund within 7-14 days of check-out. Housekeeper will supply information of damage and corresponding receipts if and when necessary. We're lucky that this rarely occurs!
Cleaning & Guest Supply Fee - this covers departure out-cleaning & tax fee for housekeeper AND it also covers one time stocking for paper towels, toilet paper, soaps (laundry, dishwasher, dish, hand, bath), plastic wrap, garbage bags, baggies, glass cleaner, dryer sheets, etc. so that guests do not need to purchase these items independently.
