Ideally located apartment for both Tourist and Professional. A cosy apartment with a garden terrace in a Victorian London street. The apartment is comfortable with a large and well equipped kitchen. King size bed with Egyptian cotton linen. Free Wi-Fi internet. Fully equipped for shorter or longer breaks.
The apartment is in Zone 1 and is very convenient for local neighbourhood shops and services.
Unusually for London, the area has the feel of a local neighbourhood whilst being close to the city centre. The neighbourhood offers an excellent and varied selection of local pubs, restaurants, cafés, shops, local library, dry cleaning and a large supermarket.
At the same time getting to the West End and many other areas is easy and quick. Fast 24 hour buses to the West End are 150m away. Vauxhall's zone 1 underground station is within 10 minutes' walk and it is 4 stops (8 minutes) from Oxford Circus. You can also walk along the River Thames to Westminster and the South Bank arts centre.

About Terry Davies
We have lived in the London area for many years and know Vauxhall extremely well. Ian is a biochemist and child psychotherapist. Terry is a composer and conductor in this city of many musicians. Originally the attractions of the apartment for us included the quiet location and easy access to entertainment and cultural centres.

Having travelled widely, we never forget what we personally expect from a quality holiday apartment. This flat was our home for 21 years until we began offering it for holiday rentals in 2010. Our priority now is to make guests as comfortable and happy here as we were.
What makes this Apartment unique
It has been wonderful to see the area around the flat develop into the popular residential centre it is today. We love the peace of the place. In the hallway you might meet Philippa, our lovely neighbour upstairs, but you are unlikely to hear her. If the weather is good, the garden terrace is a little oasis in the city, facing the sun and protected by high plants. And yet, the West End (for fun and shopping) and City financial district are quick and accessible by foot or by using the excellent transport links.

Cozy, clean, spacious flat. Terry & Peter were fantastic!!
I totally concur with the other rave reviews about this property. My review will focus on how Terry and Peter came to my timely rescue during a financial emergency that arose on my vacation. I lost my wallet on the airplane from the USA and arrived at the apartment for a week's stay with just a few pounds in my pocket and no credit cards. No London bank would cash my personal check or accept a wire transfer from my bank. Terry and Peter immediately arranged for me to get access to enough funds so I could enjoy my vacation, which otherwise would have been ruined. I can't thank them enough. Hope this never happens to anyone else but know that if a problem arises, know you can rely on Terry and Peter to do everything possible to help.

This flat was great for my wife and I. Peter met us early, as we arrived at 7:30 AM. The place was very clean, and the kitchen had all we needed. There was coffee, tea and sugar already there, and we charged and used the available Oyster cards for the buses and the tube. The bed was very comfortable. The bus stop was about a block away, and we rode the bus mostly, but the Vauxhall tube stop was a 9 minute walk. This location is just south of the river, and it would be a pretty good walk over the bridge to get to the main sites, so we rode the buses daily. The neighborhood is residential, very safe, and there is a large and modern grocery about 2 blocks away. We only had one issue while there, a group of loud people in the building next door. While they were quite loud in the kitchen area, the bedroom has double windows, so it did not bother our sleep. There is a dishwasher and clothes washer (no dryer, but there is a clothes drying rack). We would rent here again.
Very Comfortable Flat
Well laid out and comfortable flat in a quiet Vauxhall neighborhood. Kitchen is well equipped and looks out to a nice terrace, which I'm sure would be lovely in warmer weather. Having a washing machine is great and while there is no dryer, most clothes dry overnight on the drying rack.
The flat is conveniently located to bus service and a 10 minute walk to the tube station. Terry provides Oyster Cards which makes it easy to add money to the card and use on both the buses and tube. He also provides a good bus map and a map to local stores and restaurants which is really helpful when you first arrive. I also recommend a free App called Cityhopper which lets you input your destination and it comes up with bus routes and tube options and times to reach destination, The App works for cities other than London as well.
Terry is a very responsive host and easy to work with.
Comfortable south central London flat
Cozy ground floor 1 bdrm 1 bath flat on quiet street in close in but not hectic Vauxhall. Roomy well equiped kitchen with french doors to patio. Had pretty much everything we needed for a 10 day stay. 2 min to bus with access to Soho and West End and 10 min to Tube. Great for two people. Terry (owner) and Peter are very genial and easy to work with. We would absolutely stay here again.
Loved everything about this place!
The owners were helpful, the location was great(short walk to tubes and buses), it was very clean and homey. Everything was provided and more! Very thoughtful.
Quiet, Convenient, & Comfortable
The apartment was quiet and comfortable. The kitchen is light, airy and well equipped. The bed comfortable and the shower hot. The living room is decently furnished with a comfortable sofa and chair. The closet space is limited but okay for a short stay. The bus connections are particularly good the west end 20-30 minutes away depending on traffic. The alternative of walking down the Thames embankment is lovely. Terry and Peter were both helpful, and telling us about Esskay cars (for airport transfer) was particularly useful as the tube and Heathrow express are not particularly convenient for Vauxhall. Overall a great place to stay.
Within a 10 minute walk is Vauxhall's excellent transport hub (Zone 1) with many trains, tubes and buses to all parts of the city. And 100m away from the apartment are two regular 24 hour bus routes to the West End.
Many popular attractions are within a half hour's walk, some along the River Thames which passes nearby. Among them are the West End, Westminster (the Abbey, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament), Buckingham Palace (if the flag's flying the Queen's at home), London Eye (the UK's most popular tourist attraction), the incomparable South Bank (concert halls, theatres, galleries and cinemas) and the Imperial War Museum. Tate Britain gallery, Lambeth Palace, National Garden Museum, New Covent Garden Market and Oval Cricket Ground are all within 20 minutes walk. Wimbledon is 3 stops away.
The fast and frequent Gatwick Express from Gatwick Airport travels directly to Victoria Station, a 10 minute taxi ride away.

An extra £5 per night or £30 per week is charged for a 3rd or 4th person. A 25% deposit is required to hold your booking. A damages security of £200/€250/$300 is required & will be held during your stay in case of loss or damages. This will be returned to you at the end of your stay. £80 will be added to your booking for cleaning & linen. Additional weekly cleaning & linen changes: £80.
