Ideally located apartment for both Tourist and Professional. A cosy apartment with a garden terrace in a Victorian London street. The apartment is comfortable with a large and well equipped kitchen. King size bed with Egyptian cotton linen. Free Wi-Fi internet. Fully equipped for breaks of 6 days or longer.

The apartment is in Zone 1 and is very convenient for local neighbourhood shops and services.

This has the feel of a local neighbourhood but is also close to the city centre: The neighbourhood offers an excellent and varied selection of local pubs, restaurants, cafés, shops, local library, dry cleaning and a large supermarket.

At the same time getting to the West End and many other areas is easy and quick. Fast 24 hour buses to the West End are 100m away. Vauxhall's zone 1 underground station is within 10 minutes' walk and it is 4 stops (8 minutes) from Oxford Circus. You can also walk along the River Thames to Westminster and the South Bank arts centre.

About Terry Davies

I have lived in the London area for many years and know Vauxhall extremely well. I am a composer and conductor in this city of many great musicians. Originally the attractions of the apartment for me included the quiet location and easy access to the excitement of the West End and the cultural centres.

Why Terry Davies chose England

This flat was my home for 21 years until I began offering it for holiday rentals in 2010. I was very happy here and I now want the same for my guests. Having travelled widely, I never forget what everybody needs from a decent holiday home.

What makes this apartment unique

It has been wonderful to see the area around the flat develop into the lively residential centre it is today. I love the peace of the place. In the hallway you might meet Philippa, our lovely neighbour upstairs, but you are unlikely to hear her. If the weather is good, the garden terrace is a little oasis in the city, facing the sun and protected by high plants.

A charge of £80 will be added for cleaning & linen. Additional weekly cleaning & linen changes are £80. We need to pay our greeter extra for arrivals before 08.00 or after 23.00. The amount depends on your arrival time so please let us know this so we can give you an accurate figure. Local parking is controlled but we can provide residents' parking permits that cost £5.00 per day. The apartment is not suitable for children under 10.

Cozy, clean, spacious flat. Terry & Peter were fantastic!!

I totally concur with the other rave reviews about this property. My review will focus on how Terry and Peter came to my timely rescue during a financial emergency that arose on my vacation. I lost my wallet on the airplane from the USA and arrived at the apartment for a week's stay with just a few pounds in my pocket and no credit cards. No London bank would cash my personal check or accept a wire transfer from my bank. Terry and Peter immediately arranged for me to get access to enough funds so I could enjoy my vacation, which otherwise would have been ruined. I can't thank them enough. Hope this never happens to anyone else but know that if a problem arises, know you can rely on Terry and Peter to do everything possible to help.

All worked out just beautiful. Peter did an excellent job in explaining everything.

Close to the bus line. Great bed. Halls a little narrower than in the USA but very comfortable. Peter did recommend a taxi service for a ride to Heathrow for our return flight. The office staff sent us to the wrong terminal. The driver said it happens all the time. If we would have stayed at terminal 5, we never would have made it to our flight at terminal 2. You might call them if you have any influence.

Comfortable, well-equipped flat in Vauxhall

We stayed in Terry's very comfortable flat for about 10 days. We were in London for a combination of business and pleasure, and this flat suited both. It was very pleasant to sit and work in the light, airy kitchen, or have a cup of coffee in the garden area. Nice touches include great bed linens and a very good shower. Communication with owner was easy and he was very responsive at all points of the process.

We loved the chance to get to know Vauxhall and points south a bit more, and it was easy to walk or take the tube to all parts of the city.

A lovely place to stay

This property exceeded all our expectations. It was a beautiful, comfortable flat and we enjoyed a very happy time staying there. The buses were frequent and very convenient for getting too and from the train and tube stations.

There was an excellent selection of books to read too.

We will definitely stay here again should it be available when we next want to come.

Good location for local bus and underground train services. Comfortable beds with superior linens.

Well supplied and spacious lichen with lovely outdoor space. Would have been perfect except for local roof repairs daily and neighbour outdoors talking on phone late at night- both of which could happen anywhere in busy London. Hosts were great .

Well-maintained flat in great location

Our family of 3 thoroughly enjoyed staying here. Owner is very responsive and helpful. Close to transportation options, both bus and tube (Vauxhall). Neighborhood is residential and safe, but with shops and a variety of restaurants nearby. The bedroom is quiet and bed is comfortable. We used the reception area as another bedroom. The kitchen is wonderful and bright, well-equipped, opening out into a small, charming garden. I would definitely stay here again.

Within a 10 minute walk is Vauxhall's excellent transport hub (Zone 1) with many trains, tubes and buses to all parts of the city. And 100m away from the apartment are two regular 24 hour bus routes to the West End.

Many popular attractions are within a half hour's walk, some along the River Thames which passes nearby. Among them are the West End, Westminster (the Abbey, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament), Buckingham Palace (if the flag's flying the Queen's at home), London Eye (the UK's most popular tourist attraction), the incomparable South Bank (concert halls, theatres, galleries and cinemas) and the Imperial War Museum. Tate Britain gallery, Lambeth Palace, National Garden Museum, New Covent Garden Market and Oval Cricket Ground are all within 20 minutes walk. Wimbledon is 3 stops away.

The fast and frequent Gatwick Express from Gatwick Airport travels directly to Victoria Station, a 10 minute taxi ride away.
