About Jim & Kris Gullo
We're Jim and Kris, and we love to show off our town to friends and family. Jim is an author and journalist who has published 10 books and hundreds of articles about travel, food and wine (and possibly one in the airline magazine on the flight that brought you to Oregon). Kris works in a local manufacturing business. We chose this town to raise our two young sons because it is so pleasant, friendly and beautiful. The hills and valley around us are alive with trees, farms, ranches and over 250 wineries. Jim grew up in upstate New York and Pennsylvania, Kris in Montana, and between the two of us we have lived in LA, Manhattan, Hawaii, Seattle and Bainbridge Island, WA. But this is the place for us, and we're thrilled to share it with you.

Comfortable spot for our group to catch up on old times
This was a perfect spot for our group of six who were attending a 50th college reunion. The house was clean, comfortable, and was exactly as describe in it’s VRBO listing. The owners provided many amenities, including a plate of beautifully made fruit tarts. We appreciated the ease of checking in and the ease of checking out! Thanks, Jim, for you quick communication, offers to provide help, and flexibility of check-in and check-out times!
Property owners were great, their spot met our needs.
Comfortable and roomy house in McMinnville
Clean and updated house within walking distance to downtown restaurants, brewpubs and tasting rooms. Owners provided excellent communication and recommendations for restaurants and wineries. There were just two of us, but this house would also be ideal for two couples with the large living, dining and kitchen rooms and multiple baths. The house was spotless and well located to explore wine country and the town.
Everything was exactly as pictured and described. Jim was so helpful with winery and restaurant recommendations. He left us the most delicious pastries. He made sure we got into the house ok. And even offered to mail something back to us that we left at the house. House was extremely clean and very well maintained. It was super convenient to downtown McMinnville. Easy to find, and great neighborhood. We felt very safe. The 2nd bedroom with queen bed was kind of small, not much room between bed and wall for the second person to get into the bed. But that was the ONLY (and very minor) thing that was an inconvenience. We definitely recommend this place.
Great Long Weekend
We had a great stay. House was great and everything we expected. Owner left a bottle of wine and a pastry when we arrived. We had a great weekend visiting wineries and they were close enough to where we were staying and walking distance to downtown.
Enjoyed the location of the property and the great desserts that greeted us. It was very welcoming.
McMinnville is in the heart of Oregon wine country in the beautiful Willamette Valley, and we are also home to the Evergreen Air & Space Museum that includes Howard Hughes's Spruce Goose airplane, lots of real fighter jets, historic aircraft, spacecraft and rocket boosters, an IMAX theater and a waterpark that launches you from the interior of a 727 airplane into a maze of waterslides. Cool!
