This Historic double was converted into one LARGE home and completely renovated in late 2012. (A 2bed/2bath rear cottage is available for rent for additional $$$. Look at listing #556657) Renters enjoy the ENTIRE home with old world charm but the functionality of a modern house . The plumbing, HVAC and Electrical are all 2012! The furniture is antique and the bathrooms are truly lovely. The kitchen is all stainless and with white marble counter tops. There is a Washer Dryer and an iron provided.
This home is three blocks from Magazine Street and one block from the St. Charles Avenue Street Car line and just a few steps to some of the best shopping, antiquing and dining in town. The Lafayette Cemetery is a short walk away as well as coffee shops, music and everything else legendary Magazine St has to offer.
This Historic neighborhood is so romantic. Take a stroll under the huge canopy of oak trees to grab a Jazz brunch at Commander's Palace or hop on a street car and get off at the French Quarter and meander into your own adventure. Please check Updated Calendar for availability or call 504 905 3056
Thanks for executing our deposit refund so quickly. We very much enjoyed our JazzFest visit to your house on St. Andrew! We would have preferred less dreadful weather, but having a spacious and comfortable place to return to and relax in made the gathering with friends from Texas, New York, South Carolina and Ohio a success!
Just one small suggestion; we tried to honor your requests and house rules but were confused about the recycling containers....marking them for recycling vs garbage would have helped us all use the right bins.
I did try to submit a review (positive I assure you) to VRBO, but never got a confirmation that it went through.
Thanks for all your help.
This property exceeded my expectations. The amenities were great! The property was conveniently located to all the major attractions in New Orleans, and within walking distance to some great food spots. Lisa, the owner, is great! She was always accessible to answer my questions and provide recommendations.
Would definitely recommend for future visits. Wish this was my permanent home.
We had a group of 11 ladies that stayed at this beautiful property for a fun weekend in New Orleans. It was perfect! The house is exactly as pictured. The living spaces (living room, dining room, kitchen and back seating area) are all well sized and accommodated our group comfortably. We could all hang out together throughout the weekend without having to split up into different areas of the house. All of the bedrooms were well sized and the beds were very comfortable. Having three full bathrooms made it easy for everyone to get showered, ready, etc. with ease. I will note that the upstairs bath has a very short shower, so that should be taken into account if you are a group of tall people. This home is PERFECT for large groups, and we appreciated the historic modern style of the property. Lisa was very responsive and easy to work with during the booking process and while we were on the property. I have no complaints and will rent the home again if I travel to New Orleans with another group. Thanks Lisa!
This was a great location for our family reunion. There is so much space and the décor is very tasteful. The location can't be beat--- right in the middle of the Lower Garden District, only 2 blocks from the St. Charles streetcar?! Yes please! We enjoyed our stay and may even stay again. Lisa was very friendly and flexible. We also rented the cottage out back (separate listing), so if you have a large party you can't go wrong with this entire property.
Arrived with the family on May 27th for a family reunion, Walked in and was amazed how beautiful the house was and very comfortable sleeping 16 members of the family. The open layout and the roomy space.
The location is great for walking around the garden District and to Magazine Street.
Renting the guest house in the back also was great for the rest of the family.
Meet Lisa on the last day there and she was wonderful and charming.
Would highly recommend staying here on your next vacation or family reunion.
My girlfriends and I stayed here for a girls trip and this house easily accommodated all 7 of us. It's in a great location - very close to Magazine St., and a short 10 min drive to the French quarter. The house was fully stocked with towels, kitchen utensils, etc and the owner was very nice and was easy to communicate with. She did let us stay until 4pm although the official checkout time was at 10am.
The two issues I would note would be that we saw several termites at night inside the house as I believe they swarm towards light at night... (And I know that this is a problem for older homes in New Orleans) Also, only the main TV fully worked in the living room and we were unable to set the alarm.
Overall a nice stay.
This area is a fantastic neighborhood and this home is one block from the Street Car line/ Parade Route. 5 minutes from the French Quarter, and five minutes from the university area.
