Our Annual Men's Retreat

  • 4 of 5

Our church had our annual men's retreat at the Quail Run house in mid October. The house is spacious and we enjoyed our time very much. The climate is really nice this time of year and the mountain setting is beautiful. The spacious deck is great for hanging out outside.

The owners were generous to allow us early check-in to get prepared for the event. What a help!

The only complaint I have is that the kitchen is not stocked well with cups/glasses, bowls, plates and utensils. I was in charge of cooking and I had a hard time because of the lack of items to work with.

Overall, we enjoyed our time at Quail Run. We will consider using this home again.

Owner's Response: Mike, I'll start by saying that you are never welcome to any of our properties in the future and I wouldn't recommend any host to host Mike. First, any and all communications from Mike (several phone calls, emails & text messages) were responded and I have their copies- so that's a flat lie Here are some details that Mike "forgot" to mention: 1. Mike called and aggressively demanded early check in to the property - I told him that it's not possible and If it will be possible there is an additional fee long story short he did go to the property unpermitted before the check in time. 2. During his stay, there was a power outage in the whole area. He called to report and I spoke with Edison and sent him updates of the repairs in the area. the outage time was for 3 hours. Mike again was very rude and aggressive and demanded that I will provide for him power or go to buy him a generator. I told him that this is not an option and he will need to wait until the power restores to the area. Those were all the discussions with Mike, He didn't call or complained about any thing else Oh yes he did Mention to me how beautiful is the house and that they are having a good time and because he broke into the house before the check in time (with out apologizing) he promised to write a good review Advise to all hosts / property owners - AVOID this guy

Great "Snow Day" Experience

  • 4 of 5

We loved the house, it’s many rooms, the spacious upstairs living room, dining room and kitchen. The living room downstairs with carpet was a good place for people to sleep in sleeping bags. All the kids loved the game room with the pool table. In the game room we found extra tables and chairs that we used upstairs since we had a large group of people. We had 5 cars and we were able to fit them on the driveway. When we turned the heat on, it took some time for the house to warm up. It was particularly cold in the master bedroom, so we got some firewood and made fire there. Later at night the house was warm enough throughout. We all had a great time.

rude owner and extremely poor maintained house

  • 1 of 5

The ownwer sean is so hard to communicate with. He is low and rude. For example, he responed with "how come" without sorry rigth after I called him telling him that one of bedroom is locked. And he kept mumbling with "which room""where" "how come" for few minutes. Finally the maintaince lady come to open the room for us. One more example, the kitchen sink starts to leak so badlly. I texted him with pictures. He does not repond. Then I called his cell using the phone in the house. He told me he never received any pictures. He lies again. Then I explained what happend. He said his kitchen does not have the garbage disposal. Then I turned on the disposal. Can you image what he said? Oh, don't use it, just put a bowl underneath. Please don't use any of his cooking wares. I told him it is up to him to fix or not. He said it is hard to find someone during the weekend. The thing is the leakage should be there for a long time. You can take a look at the picture here. Anyway, one maintainance guy came that late evening to fix the problem. I will rate a zero if there is such option. Avoid this cabin if you want a pleasean vocation. plus, all shower runs slowly to make people feel like in another country. the frigerator is dirty too.

Owner's Response: It was very difficult to communicate with the guest XIAOLONG He's English is very poor with heavy accent that it is almost impossible to understand him. He made reservation 2 weeks prior to his arrival date and he would call me at least twice a day with lots of questions - which I am happy to answer. But I think that after 5 phone calls in 3 days that I am answering the same questions over and over - I really think that he have difficulties that I can't help with. And every time he calls I answer him: Yes sir, how can I help you Yes- this way for 2 weeks of phone calls. Additionally, the guest started to call our community association, it got to the point that the association called me and told me that he is harassing them every day and asked me to ask him to stop calling them. Yes, the guest called me to report of a locked room in the house and Yes I did ask where and which room - Its a very large house and it is strange that a room would be locked from the inside It can be that one of the kids in this group play with the door and accidently locked it. As soon as the guest called me on Friday evening - We had maintenance there in 20 min to open the door. Saturday afternoon the guest calls to report a leak under the kitchen sink I asked what and where specifically - Yes I need to know exactly in order to resolve the issue He claims to text pictures - I didn't get them and really have no reason to lie about anything He said the leak comes from the garbage disposal and he told me here listen He turns it on and I can hear noises of grinding metal So I asked him if there are any foreign objects inside - He said no So I told him like any professional: please stop the garbage disposal operation and don't use it until the plumber will arrive - and Yes I told him it can take a while its Saturday and Its hard to get a plumber to come on a short notice. The plumber was there at about 6pm. The plumber reported 2 spoons where inside the garbage disposal He took them out and problem SOLVED! I guess that the guest complains that the garbage disposal can't process metal spoons, LoL. Anyways we are happy XIAOLONG didn't electrocute anyone or tripped over his shoelaces and wish him a SAFE! return home
