We fell in love with Hawks Cay the minute we stepped foot in the small island of Duck Key. A secluded island, yet central to Miami and Key West, and easy to reach by car, boat or plane. What is not to love about Aquamarine water all around, amazing sunrises and sunsets.
Our Villa in Hawks Cay, is our retreat away from the busy life in Coconut Grove. We get in the car, and in just one and half hours we are in Duck Key. Relaxing in our private jacuzzi or fishing of the dock right behind our house.
I wanted to thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home in the keys. We had a great time and enjoyed immensely!
We hope to be reaching out to you soon again!
We just come back from a family weekend and we had a great time!!!!
The Villa is very comfortable, clean and have everything you need to feel like home. The location is beautiful and very convenient to spend time with your family and friends.
The owner is very helpful and friendly; definitely recommendable!!!!!
What a wonderful Spring Break 2016! The Spa Villa was the perfect choice for our 2 families this year. The private splash pool was the perfect place to sit, watch the kids play and enjoy a glass of wine. Overlooking the water was key! We loved fishing and enjoying the wildlife...especially the manatee and beautiful fish. The villa was well equipped and we enjoyed the resort as well. There were several restaurant choices at the resort and the ice cream shop was definitely utilized! Duck Key is centrally located. We spent a day in Key West and time in Marathon (always stopping at the Publix). Easy to get to Key Largo to the state park to paddle board and kayak...highly recommend! We loved Sunset Grille on the Seven Mile Bridge. They have a pool! Kids were in heaven. You can catch the sunset at the front of the resort- every. single. night! Thank you again for sharing this beautiful home with us!
My husband and I stayed for our 4th wedding anniversary; I must say this is a real gem located in Duck Key. We had our own private splash pool with a view of the bay. There are so many things to do at Hawks Cay, several pools, restaurants, bars, and an amazing gym. We had an amazing time! We are definitely coming back!
Comfortable, well furnished house, with everything you need ( especially lots of towels !). We love sitting outside by the water and fishing and the highlight was seeing a manatee swim past. Duck Key is a beautiful resort, would definately recommend it. Founds lots of nice places to eat on near by Marathon and at the Ocean restaurant at Hawks Cay.
My family and I came to the Florida Keys for Spring Break. We had a terrific time, my son enjoyed fishing from the dock directly behind the villa. It was great to have coffee in the back porch and watch him fishing. It was also very nice to have the splash pool in our back yard. The villa was very clean and very well equipped. We had everything we needed. We cant wait to visit again.
My email upon our return:
We have just returned from our stay at your villa and wanted to let you know that we
found the accommodations to be perfect for us. The villa was well equipped and very
clean. It was a perfect location for us, and we hope to return and/or recommend it to
friends. We did have a couple of issues I wanted to bring to your attention. When we
arrived it was quite chilly so we turned the heat on to take the chill off and within
minutes the smoke detector went off and a strong burning smell filled the villa. We
immediately turned it off and opened windows. We telephoned your maintenance
person who advised us there has been a problem, and we should not turn the heat on
again. The next day we attempted to use the hot tub but the water was not warm. We
turned the jets on, thinking it might need to run a bit to warm up to no avail. The pool
maintenance man stopped by and we asked him about it. He advised it has not been
working and a part was on order. He thought it might be in before we left and he would
return, but evidently the part did not come in, as the hot tub remained cold for our
entire stay. My husband and I were quite disappointed in this as we both
suffer from issues with our back, and were looking forward to relaxing in the jacuzzi spa.
We are wondering if you could make any compensation to us for this.
I believe we left your unit as expected. We did leave behind a puzzle that kept us
entertained through our stay in hopes that future guests or your children may
appreciate the challenge.
I look forward to hearing from you
After a second request to reply, here is the response from Silvia Ortiz:
I got it and to be honest I had no idea how to reply...request for compensation because the water wasn't hot???!!! Really!!!! It's a splash pool and that's how I advertise it.
Not sure why now a days everyone always ask for money back. How much can I return to you for not being able to get into a hot water? $1 or $2? You let me know.
