This cottage has been in the family since the late 1800's. It contains lots of family history and has been enjoyed for many vacations during the summers.
Ruth or Seth Stevens purchased this cottage in 1955
This is located in a typical, quaint New England area with a small town feel, and affords plenty of ways to enjoy the countryside. Many growing-up years were spent here swimming, boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and mountain-climbing.
The cottage is like a family 'heirloom' handed down through the generations and, while renovated over the years, its rustic charm has been maintained.
Located on the best part of the lake with large sandy beach and gradual waterfront. Beautiful views and sunrises. Very clean and spacious. The owners are very responsive and want to ensure your experience is a good one. Loved it!
This house suited our family vacation to a tee. The location was great - easy on/off Route 16, yet secluded and very quiet. The views from the house/beach were breathtaking. The beach was a good size and never felt crowded even when the neighbors were out. The house itself was very clean, well appointed, and even more spacious than it appears in the pictures. It's obvious that the owners take great pride in their home and have really thought of everything when it comes to their renters' needs. In a perfect world, there'd be one more bathroom; other than that it's as good as it gets!
Great Cottage. We really enjoyed our stay at this beach front cottage on gorgeous Lake Ossipee!
Cottage was super clean and has lots of space!
I've rented this cottage for a week or two for the past 10 years. It's one of my favorite places on earth. The view from the cottage is gorgeous. The beach and yard are quiet and private. It is also partly shaded, so that you can be in the sun or the shade. Members of my family climbed mountains including Mt. Washington. Others climbed Foss Mountain to pick blueberries. Children create their own fun on the beach and in the water. I enjoy relaxing on the beach and watching the fun. Boat rentals are available on the lake but we didn't rent one this year. Lake is great for canoes and kayaks if you have either. We ate lunch on the beach most days and dinner several times, but there is a large table inside and a small one in the kitchen for breakfast. Comfortable beds with new linens. The photos are accurate and the owners are most helpful.
The house was very well kept and stocked. The yard, fire pit, and grill made for some extremely fun times. The beach was amazing and the neighbors were friendly. The water was amazing. The bedroom set up was awesome it keeps everyone close but yet private at the same time. It was an amazing experience and I hope to return sometime in the future. The only negatives are the neighbors are extremely close. Also the sand bar where a lot of people is a long paddle (we had kayaks).
