Wandering Wombat Guest House is a short stroll to the vibrant restaurants, bars and arts scene of downtown Issaquah. You can also walk to the local salmon hatchery, playground, participate in fun local activities such as the Wine Walk, and if you're in town in October, don't miss the Salmon Days Festival. An old-fashioned butcher shop, a chocolate factory and a great local market are also located on Front St. Other recognizable stores like Safeway, Target and Costco are also just a short drive away. Boehm pool is only a block away (check Issaquah Parks and Rec website for public swim hours).
We are a short drive to Swedish Hospital, Costco corporate offices, Microsoft, etc. The area offers great access to downtown Seattle either by car or by bus. We're only a mile from the I90. It's a great area to stay away from the city and surrounded by mountains.
For outdoorsy people, we are only 30 minutes from the snow at Snoqualmie, and 10 minutes from nearby recreation on Lake Sammamish. A short drive will get you to some gorgeous hiking locations. Poo Poo Point paragliding is just down the road! Only 12 minutes to the incredible TreeHouse Point wedding venue. Perfectly located for people attending weddings at Trinity Tree Farm, Pickering Barn, Fox Hollow Farm and Snoqualmie Falls.
Fast 50MbPS Wi-Fi and cable TV included.
Buses to downtown Seattle and other locations are available 2 blocks away. Issaquah Park and Ride is also great if you would prefer to take the bus downtown, just a 3 minute drive.
Other things to note
Our house is located on busy Front Street which puts you in the heart of the action and although the house is set back from the road and protected by trees, there can be some traffic noise outside the cottage. Inside the house feels private and quiet.
The cottage is old and the ceilings upstairs are low. Upstairs bedroom not recommended for anyone taller than about 6 ft.
Both bathrooms are downstairs and one is accessed via the downstairs master bedroom.
There is a new school being constructed on the lot behind the house. The construction itself is quite far from the house, but there can be a little noise during working hours. There is no noise from the site at night.
Cleaning service during your stay is available for $100.
For your protection we have installed a Ring doorbell camera which helps us monitor the property. There are no cameras inside the house.

About Jane Bullen
We are an Australian family living in Seattle. We love to travel and explore - we have also lived in London as well as several Australian cities. We enjoy meeting people from all over the world and sharing with them all the local area has to offer. We are fully committed to being totally inclusive hosts.
Jane Bullen purchased this Cottage in 2016
Why Jane Bullen chose Olde Town
It's one of the last few original cottages in the area. It's a flat walk to downtown Issaquah, which is such a fun place to be. It's also the perfect layout for groups and families with two bathrooms and four sleeping areas. Although it's on a main road, it's tucked away behind trees and is super peaceful. We're new to Home Away, but we've been renting this cottage for a year now. For other reviews search online for Wandering Wombat Issaquah.

Lovely cottage, lots of room
There is such welcoming vibe in this house. We immediately settled in to feel at “home”. The price is fantastic for the privacy and space and versatility of staying in a home close to so many adventures!
We are a family of 4. The number of beds and sleeping options would work well for larger groups.
Highly recommend this home if you are in the area.
Thanks so much for such a glowing review. We are always glad to hear such lovely things about our house. We hope you come back soon!
Rainy weekend getaway
Great location! Lovely hosts - wonderful quilting weekend for our Mother/daughter retreat. Thank you Jane!!
Our family, 4 adults & 4 teen boys, had a great family weekend staying here. Wandering Wombat was comfortable, cheerfully decorated & good space for everyone. The home was well stocked with essentials & many non-essentials. It was clean, peaceful & very quiet. Jane checked in with us during our stay to ensure all was well...all was perfect for my family.
We would definitely stay here again...& in fact, hope we need a place to stay in the area so we can stay here again.
Thank you Jane & John for contributing to our Awesome Family Weekend! B
Clean, spacious well stocked in great location
We were up in the Seattle area for a combination family visit/skiing trip and the cottage ended up being perfect. Great location in Issaquah about 30 miles from Snoqualmie, and easy access to all areas of Seattle/Tacoma/Everett. The cottage was spotless, well stocked and recently renovated. Applicances looked new, beds were very comfortable. The owner was very responsive and made check-in/ check out very easy.
Amazing owner and comfortable home
We were in the area to visit the University of Washington. This home was so comfortable and perfect for our family. The owners are a primary example of an outstanding host on HomeAway.com. The beds were comfortable. We loved the Keurig coffee and the tea kettle. We walked to downtown Issaquah several times and this quiet home is within a reasonable distance of all the action in Seattle and Bellevue. The weather cooperated one day and we journey up to the summit of Poo Poo Point. Thank you for being so welcoming to our family!
It was a lovely home.
We would definitely stay here again. Jane and John were great, if we needed anything they were right on it.
