You'll want for nothing in our luxurious penthouse in the heart of centro historico! Enjoy all the comforts of home and more in our finely appointed apartment. One master suite has views and terrace access, with a modern bathroom plus a jacuzzi tub for 2 in a rock walled alcove. The other master suite has charming colonial decor with a huge rock and granite wood-burning fireplace and bathroom with dual sinks and rain shower. Both master suites feature king sized beds of the highest quality and comfort available, featuring a full 4 inches of memory foam pillowtop on a supportive orthopedic core. They also include private bathrooms with showers, bathrobes, bowl sinks and granite, plus 32' LED TVs. The third bedroom has a rustic theme with two comfortable twin beds, views and terrace access. All beds feature a choice between 500 thread count cotton or warmer microfleece linens, as well as fluffy down alternative comforters with duvets and blankets. All three bedrooms and the living room feature vaulted ceilings with exposed wood beams. The social bathroom has a glass block shower, toilet, and even a urinal. The gourmet kitchen features gorgeous granite, a dishwasher, 6 burner stove and oven, microwave and large fridge with filtered water and ice in the door. The Living room has a soft comfortable sectional and a 42' LG plasma TV with a huge DVD library and Direct TV HD with DVR and a Blu Ray player. All rooms have DVD players. The entire apartment includes a terrace with unobstructed 6th floor views over centro, including a granite breakfast bar overlooking the impressive icon of Cuenca, the new cathedral.
Our home is cleaned to a strict standard between each set of visitors, and cleaned and stocked according to a checklist, so that you can rest assured that you'll have a wonderful stay free of the common pitfalls of stays in a foreign country. The kitchen is equipped with all of the dinnerware, cookware, silverware and barware you will need, plus small and large appliances. We provide paper towels, sugar, salt, pepper, coffee and tea. The towels are plush and plentiful and we provide thick toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, liquid soap and blow dryers in each of the three bathrooms. We provide 3 huge flat-screen televisions, one smaller flat-screen TV, all with DVD or Blu Ray players and two with Direct TV HD with DVR, a huge video library, high-speed wireless internet, and even a brand new 17' laptop so that you can leave your computer at home! We also provide a local cell phone and a home phone, if needed for a small fee. The building has an elevator straight to our door that only services 3 apartments, so you won't have to climb any stairs like in most centro homes, or even wait for a busy elevator like in a high rise. The building is very secure with a friendly guard from morning to night. When the guard isn't there, you are behind 3 locked metal doors. The apartment is quiet as it is 5 stories up, with dual-paned laminated glass throughout and no walls are shared with any neighbors. There are just 2 other residences, and the rest of the building is occupied by offices, mostly law offices. If you have a rental car, there is a parking lot next door. If you have more than 6 people, there is an extra double mattress to sleep two more, and a dining room table for 8. For your comfort, all rooms have black-out curtains, there are portable heaters, a wood burning and an electric fireplace, a double electric blanket, and extra pillows and blankets, and unlimited hot water. There is a full-sized washer with hot water and gas dryer for your use. We use only hypo-allergenic fragrance-free detergents.

We plan to continue seeing the world while renting out our beautiful penthouse apartment in the historic center of Cuenca Ecuador.
Nanci Lopez purchased this condo in 2012
Our apartment is a unique rental in the historic el centro. It is the penthouse of the tallest building in the area, providing for great unobstructed views, privacy and lots of sunlight. Most buildings the UNESO heritage area do not have elevators, however ours does. We love all of the great nearby restaurants, attractions, shopping and cultural events just steps our out door.
My fiance, along with 2 of his sisters (all of us 50+yrs of age) just came back from paradise. Nanci and I had been corresponding long before we took this trip, so I already felt like she was family. Altho' we didn't get to meet Nanci/Jesse, Bev was there when we arrived and she's terrific. I've moved 34 times in my life, and..not to exaggerate, I never wanted to leave! We all truly felt like we were in "Donald Trump" accomodations. Just to add to what others have mentioned, planes flew by and we couldn't even hear them due to the soundproof windows. The beds/linens/pillows were the best. I probably took 50 pics just of the penthouse. We walked most of the time altho' taxis were readily available right outside our building. We ate at "Bananas" almost every day for breakfast. Parque Calderon right down the street has several restaurants that we frequented. Even tho' we had a top of the line kitchen we ate out every meal except two (when we were taking an early excursion before restaurants opened). This is coming from a gal who doesn't eat out except when her fiance splurges at "Waffle House". :-) It's so inexpensive to eat out in Cuenca, you can't afford not to. We had met a couple in Quito when we visited there for 5 days (I heard him speaking English :-). We made contact w/them when they arrived in Cuenca, and quickly became friends, taking a bus to little villages, eating out, shopping, etc. :-) We invited them over before they left for the airport to head home to Texas. They were so impressed that they wanted me to send information so they can reserve the penthouse next summer. This was our 2nd visit to Cuenca, the city, Lord willing, that we'll be living in asap. We love the people, weather, food, the "family-oriented" atmosphere. This is "Heaven on Earth". We love Cuenca! We plan on a 1-1/2 to 2 month stay in Cuenca next summer to find our little paradise, thanks in part to Nanci and Jesse. :-)
Great decor, very upscale condo in the perfect location close to everything. Dustin and his wife welcomed us when we arrived. Everything was so luxurious yet so cozy to come back to each night. Next time we come to Ecuador we will stay here longer than the 4 wonderful days he had in Cuenca! The best memories of the trip were here at this beautiful place spent overlooking the historic district of Cuenca on the balcony. Thanks for everything. We were so pleased with our stay here.
Walk out your front door and choose between more than 20 good restaurants within 2 block radius. 4 blocks to main square, for best people-watching in town. Almost everything you want is in walking distance from this location, and taxis and busses abound just a block away if you really want to go further.
Nanci, the kind owner, was a huge help with extensive answers to any questions even before we arrived! The penthouse itself is wonderful - modern, clean and comfortable, beautifully furnished and provisioned, and very conveniently located. We loved the huge, covered porch where we read and enjoyed the refreshing and constant breeze of Cuenca. An abundance of restaurants, museums, plazas, and lovely urban and river walks were right outside our door! Because we were there at Christmas, we got to enjoy the local traditional parades all over town! And don’t miss the Amaru Zoo! Or Cajas National Park, where Angel (an excellent driver recommended by Nanci) took us one day for a great hike and fantastic scenery! There is no way our stay could have been more perfect!
5/5 - Plush, soft beds with every pillow type imaginable, crisp white towels in all bathrooms, warm fireplace when you need it, cool deck for fresh air with access from 3 different rooms.
5/5 - FULLY stocked kitchen with every utensil and then more (very ‘lived’ in feeling) Don’t bring shower gear, every bathroom has Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash! Wood OR electric fireplace, lighted jacuzzi in master, TV’s in all rooms, Direct TV with PVR, DVD library with hundreds of titles, board games, chefs kitchen, ‘always on’ coffee maker, dimmer lights in every room, couch blankets, servings trays, luxurious duvets and soft sheets, breakfast bar or large dining room table, it just goes on and on.
Pre-paid cell phone and Laptop for you to use during your stay.
5/5 Within 20 steps out the front door you have multiple restaurants of every variety, shops, museums, churches, tour companies, parks, rivers and more. Within walking distance to a TIA Express for groceries (or a $1.30 cab ride to the SuperMaxi), walking distance to the New Cathedral, centro, fresh produce market, clothing markets, etc. No car needed, PERFECT walking distance for any travellers of any age.
5/5 In latin America, internet CAN be a problem, but we had no issue during our 2 week stay. Speed was good enough to stream a movie.
5/5. Where else can you visit a historic posh city, stay in style right in the middle of all the action, and have every comfort of home? Probably nowhere. One of the more expensive rentals in Cuenca for a reason, the value cannot be beat.
5/5. Not only was the owner very quick to respond, EXTREMELY organized and professional, but the Property Managers were as well. We were met ahead of schedule, given a complete tour of the home and shown how to use/access everything, and given a plethora of ways to contact anyone, should we need to. They checked on us mid way through the stay, and met us on time the morning of check out. The entire process was the most smooth we have ever experienced.
- Leave blowdryers, shampoo, conditioner, laptop at home.
- There is an elevator, but we did the stairs… WOW, they are a doozy, just an FYI.
- On Fri/Sat there is a bit of ‘city’ noise (cars, people, etc) but not overwhelming, the other nights were silent.
- We stayed under 2 weeks, the perfect amount of time in our opinion! Lots to see!
We stayed at this apartment for two nights on a whirlwind Ecuador trip. The finishes and furnishings are topnotch. The beds are comfortable and having 3 bathrooms was a nice plus. The location is great. There is street noise but the soundproofed windows kept it quiet inside. We would definitely stay here again...hopefully for longer, next time. I was surprised to find that the laundry facilities are on the roof, up one flight of stairs. We had to do our laundry the night before our departure, which meant multiple trips up and down in the dark. I had a small flashlight, which was helpful. The owner was very easy to deal with and returned our deposit promptly.
We have stayed twice at Parque Place Penthouse and will stay again if we get the opportunity. The owners are very responsive and they have a gem of a place in the historic heart of Cuenca. We recommend it most highly.
There is no better location in Cuenca Ecuador! This is the hub of culture and nightlife in the heart of Centro Historico. We are on Luis Cordero, the same street as the main central plaza Parque Calderon, just 2 blocks down from the plaza between it and the famous Tomebamba river. We are surrounded by the best restaurants in town, open air markets, churches, plazas, bars, cafes and theaters. If you are coming to investigate Cuenca as a potential destination for retirement or relocation, you'll be happy to discover all of the popular expat hangouts, socials, and events within blocks of here. You can walk from this central location to pretty much anywhere you may want to go in Cuenca. From here you can usually get around without climbing stairs, as our building has an elevator and we are already in Centro, which is higher than most of the suburbs. There is even a nearby mall (Millenium Plaza) with fast food and American movies in English that's just a short walk down the charming Tres De Noviembre river walk (El Baranco). You can watch parades or fireworks right from the huge terrace! Should you want to leave the historic center (El Centro) or river area, taxis are readily available on our street and bus stops are nearby. Even though we are in the heart of downtown Cuenca, our 5th floor penthouse ensures a tranquil oasis with it's doubled glazed and laminated sound control windows and lack of shared walls.
