Port Orford Condo Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedroom/2 Bath - Jacuzzi Tub in Master Bathroom

Coast Haven is a quaint 1,200 square foot contemporary, custom designed and built 2 bedroom, 2 bath condominium with features and an abundance of amenities. Upon approach, the “prow” windows add a whimsical sense of seafaring long since passed. The view from inside provides a majestic view of both the Pacific Ocean and the Port of Port Orford. The delightful homeowners occupy the upstairs, or second floor, which was built by a local contractor out of Bandon, Oregon. Initially, the idea was to use the first of the condominium on a regular basis with the added bonus of being able to dedicate an entire flat to out-of-town family members and treasured. When approached by a close friend concerning the potential use within a vacation rental capacity, the homeowners pondered the idea. After contemplation and deliberation, the homeowners concluded that the upstairs would be there home and the bottom floor would provide the opportunity for family, friends and travelers to enjoy not only the quaint and secluded location Coast Haven offers to its Guests but the beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean and the ability to have a daily birds-eye and behind the scenes view of the operations of this charming fishing village.

Aside from the unique prow window, which provides seating for your viewing pleasure, Coast Haven’s master bedroom offers an extremely comfortable queen size pillow-top bed with an inviting Jacuzzi Tub. The guest bedroom has two twin beds, with a full bathroom between the guest and master bedrooms. At the present time, there is a queen size futon couch in the living room allowing for additional occupancy, bringing the total maximum capacity to six (6). The kitchen is very well equipped with a stove/oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, blender, baking supplies, one full set of every day dishes, as well as a beautiful set of china, both providing service for 8.

Coast Haven welcomes children with Port Orford providing unique opportunities For daytime adventure. The South Coast Game Park is located due North, approximately 19 miles, while the Prehistoric Gardens are a hop, skip and a jump, approximately 13 miles due South, both of which are bound to delight.  Battle Rock Beach is only a short walking distance, presenting a fun day in the sun building sandcastles on the beach.

Port Orford’s famous “Agate Beach” is just a short drive if agate hunting, beachcombing or both are your cup of tea.  In the alternative, you could simply spend the day mesmerized as you watch private and commercial fishing boats being lifted from our unique port, one of only two dolly docks located within the United States.  If in the mood to rest and relax, perhaps taking in the view of the Pacific Ocean while Seagulls fly overhead or the Grey Whales migrate, is just the ticket to help you recharge.

Coast Haven is centrally located in the heart of Port Orford and within easy walking distance to the beach front where the Port is located. Battle Rock Beach is only 0.2 miles in the opposite direction where, during low tide, everyone will enjoy viewing the marine life contained within the tide pools. There are several art galleries owned and operated by local artists who contribute their own sense of creativity and charm.  Port Orford residents are also fortunate to have their very own Food Co-Operative and Saturday Farmer’s Market, both featuring locally grown produce, baked goods and a variety of artisan wears.  Several eating establishments are located within the same area, offering specialty items, including homemade bread, muffins and delicious gourmet imported salami’s and cheeses.

Regardless your reasons for visiting Port Orford, your stay at Coast Haven will afford your body, mind and soul the opportunity to Rest, Relax and Recharge.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We stayed 5 nights at this condo and it was absolutely lovely! The view was incredible looking straight out to the beach/ocean. It was so interesting to watch the boats being raised and lowered in to the bay. The kitchen was wonderfully equipped, mattress was so very comfortable - and it felt so great to relax in the Jacuzzi tub after a walk around the cute town. Dinner at the Crazy Norwegian (2 blocks away) was outstanding and inexpensive!

Excellent view, clean and comfortable, fully equipped kitchen, great location!

  • 5 of 5

The most impressive feature is the fantastic view of the harbor and the Dolly Dock! The window design in the living room allows you to see a wide expanse of the beautiful and rugged coastline of Port Orford. The rental itself was clean and comfortable. This was a family weekend with 4 adults staying here. The two bathrooms and fully equipped kitchen made it easy to make coffee and cook breakfast in the morning. The living room was comfortable with plenty of seating, a cozy fireplace and a nice size TV. We were able to walk to several restaurants, the farmers market and the swap meet. The annual 'Blessing of the Fleet' also took place the weekend we were there, and that was a special surprise that we enjoyed seeing. There were fresh flowers in the bedrooms which was a very nice touch as well. I would definately stay here again!

Relaxing Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

The property was set up very nicely. Plenty of room for the 3 of us adults. Beds extremely comfortable. I slept better than I had in a long time. There were plenty of dishes with a set of every day dishes plus a set of China. Could use some new flatware however because some of the handles are starting to get loose or break. The house has a wonderful view of the ocean and the dock where you can watch as they raise a family lower boats. You are about 1 mile from Agate Beach which is a wonderfully quiet beach and great for hunting agates. The owner Mr. Heaney is very nice and lives upstairs. Will answer any questions you may have. Overall great place to stay.

Owner's Response: Dear Tess: Thank you for your kind review of Coast Haven. The Dolly Dock is truly fascinating, especially at night when the Port becomes illuminated, and the view of the ocean from the Prow Window is truly majestic, which assists with creates a peaceful and relaxing environment. While it took several years, along with a “boat load” of community involvement to come to fruition, during your stay you had the unique opportunity to witness the Dredging of the Port. Pursuant to frequent storms, an over abundance of sand accumulates. In order to create ocean access for the local fisherman, dredging is a vital and necessary occurrence. With regard to the flatware, thank you for comment regarding the need to refurbish. Seaside Enterprises has alerted the Homeowners, and we appreciate you providing the opportunity for other Guests to be able to enjoy the fully equipped kitchen. Sincerely, Kimberly A. Awesome location

  • 5 of 5

My family and I visited in mid August and had a great time in this condo. The view of the dock and ocean are incredible. We were able to see whales right from the window seat. The home is comfortable and clean. We enjoyed walks on the beach, local shopping and day trips. The day trips included a ride up the Rogue river with Jerry's Jet boats (Gold beach), a drive through the Red Woods and a visit to the West Coast animal safari. I would recommend all of them! There is so much to do in the small town and surrounding area and this home is the perfect location. Thanks for the memories.

What a great place. I came with my four kids and husband ages 2,3,7,9and 50.We enjoyed ourselves. Everything is right there. Great food just hope and skip away. We were there for the 4th of July weekend, port orford really knows how to do it. We had a fabulous view if fire works and parade. The greatest weather too. The place is super clean. It was great to have a washer and dryer. Dick and Judy the owners are right upstairs to help you with anything but they didn't bother us like some owners do. They even baked us cookies. We were pretty loud they didn't seem to mind. We may make this our 4th of July family tradition because it was so great! The kids LOVED the dry dock watching the boats be craned up on the dock. I read somewhere that there are only a fee of th in the whole world super cool! Oh I forgot to mention the whales only feet off the dock we could have jumped on it. I was told they come this close to the shore to scrape the barnacles off, really amazing!!!! We will be back!!!

Located along the Southern Oregon Coast, Port Orford is where the forest trees meet the Pacific Ocean Breeze! Travelers come to Rest, Relax and Recharge while experiencing the quiet solitude and the picturesque surroundings of this small fishing village. The Port of Port Orford is not only the most unique dock in Oregon but along the entire Pacific Coastline as it operates one of only two dolly docks located in the United States.

Port Orford offers an abundance of recreational activities, such as beachcombing, biking, fishing, hiking, kayaking and whale watching to name just a few. For the water enthusiast, Flores Lake is just 15 minutes north, where people of all skill levels enjoy kite and windsurfing. A bike friendly town, Port Orford is also a part of the Adventure Cycling Association's Pacific Coast tour from Seattle to San Diego.

For the explorer, Port Orford offers many adventures with several historical points of interest. The Cape Blanco Lighthouse was built in 1870 and is still used today. Visible for 22 miles off the Pacific Ocean, the Cape Blanco Lighthouse is considered the furthest most westerly point within in the continental United States. Nearby, is the beautifully restored Victorian Hughes House Museum built in 1898, which became a member of the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, and provides an inside look at Port Orford's historical and humble beginnings. Lastly, the Lifeboat Station Museum, featuring a restored Coast Guard Station, shipwreck memorabilia, and many artifacts from the years when the Coast Guard Station was providing services to ships, is rich in historical information relating to World War II.

For a little bit of culture, there are several art galleries owned and operated by local artists who contribute their own whimsical sense of creativity and charm. Other crafty residents with their own unique artistic flare can be found at our very own Saturday Farmer’s Market from 9:00 am to noon, which also offers an array of baked goods, fresh and locally grown organic produce, pottery, jewelry and other keepsake mementos that are sure to delight.

On February 18, 2010, the Common Council of the City of Port Orford added a “Dark Sky” Ordinance (No. 367-87), limiting “…outdoor lighting used for residential, commercial (and) public areas” in order to reduce light pollution and enhance our pristine night’s sky. Port Orford is the first city in Oregon to implement such an ordinance and one of thee many fascinating, unique and innovate features that make Port Orford a great place to visit.

On May 17, 2012, a portion of the city of was deemed a “Community Stewardship Area” or “Natural Resources Inventory” (“Stewardship”) via an amendment to the “Comprehensive Plan Inventory” initially adopted July 20, 2005. The Stewardship is a “biologically diverse” area spanning 1,320 square miles and encompassing “…terrestrial, freshwater, intertidal, and ocean environments,” created to protect Port Orford’s natural habitat. The City of Port Orford, in conjunction with our local Port Orford Ocean Resources Team and the Pacific Marine Conservation Council, created the Amendment to assist in the preservation of wildlife and, in turn future sustainability.
