Enjoy a week or a weekend on the edge of one of Vermont's prettiest village
The Cottage is set back on a picturesque gravel road, one mile from the quintessential Vermont village of Weston. Adjacent to the village is the Green Mountain National Forest with many trails and hiking paths. Bromley and Magic Mountain are 15 minutes away, and Stratton and Okemo are 20 minutes away. Killington is 45 minutes. Bromley and Killington have great summer activities for kids and adults.
This newly renovated cottage is cozy, comfortable, and a wonderful retreat for one or two couples, or a small family. It has been lovingly restored while maintaining some of its origins as an authentic Vermont cottage. It is near the village of Weston which has the famed Weston Playhouse, where superb productions are put on during the summer - exceptional, as reviewed by the NY Times. Now, the $6 million Theater at the Walker Farm, is open and is hosting events throughout the year. Google their websites for details and tickets.
The house comfortably sleeps 4 to 6. There is one bath on the first floor, with a shower. The Kitchen is an open galley which faces the living room so that those preparing meals feel included. In addition there is a sitting room with a comfy couch which opens to a queen bed. There is a small sitting room with a sofa where kids can play games. There is a washer and dryer in the dry basement.
Upstairs there is a queen bedroom, and a second bed room with twin beds. Access to the second bedroom is through the queen bedroom.
The owner lives nearby in a separate home. She is a former innkeeper and knows how to provide comfortable accommodations at a reasonable price. Come enjoy this beautiful village with its renowned theater (the Weston Playhouse), the famed Vermont Country Store, skiing at 4 ski areas within 15-25 minutes, and fine dining that be found in Ludlow and Londonderry which are minutes away.
Also, Weston is home to the famed Vermont Country Store, which offers marvelous specialty items not found anywhere else: clothing, unusual food items, a great children's department with toys and clothes, and Mildred's Diner next door (seasonal). Country dining is available at the Bryant House restaurant and fine dining at the Inn at Weston. Google each of them for details.

My daughter and I purchased this in 2015 and have faithfully restored equipping it with new furniture and mattresses throughout. She teaches at a private school and brings her teen age kids who love it here. Previously I owned and ran two historic inns here in Vermont so I know how to provide comfortable accommodations to guests. If you don't reach me, my brother, Andy, who lives nearby, may respond to your inquiry. He knows the HomeAway and VRBO system and can help you out.
Wende purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why Wende chose Weston
We looked for two houses, one for me and one for occasional overflow for visiting family and to share with others who would like to rent it! It has cable TV and high-speed internet for those who cannot quite unplug from work, or just want to browse. Cell service is good.
What makes this Cottage unique
The community has very nice residents who are supportive of the local theater and other cultural activities. Kinhaven Music school is less than a mile away from the house, and has great music on weekends. The Weston Priory also has wonderful music on Sundays when the monks sing. Weston is a retreat and a cultural mecca. Oh yes, 4 ski areas very close by: Bromley, and Magic Mountain are only 15 minutes away, Okemo is 20 minutes, Stratton is 25 minutes, and Killington is only 3/4 hour away. Great skiing, and is summer Bromley has their famed Mountain Slide and other facilities for kids. Golf is readily available.

Convenient location for ski areas
We enjoyed staying at this quaint house nestled in the mountains. Andy, who manages the house, was extremely helpful in providing information about the house and the area before we arrived. Our visit to Vermont was for alpine skiing, and this cottage is conveniently located a short drive away from several ski resorts (about 20 minutes from Bromley and about 25 from Okemo). I would recommend either AWD or 4WD during the winter as the roads in the area are slick in the winter, and as some of them are hard-packed dirt roads, they aren't as clear as main roads are in VT. Overall, we enjoyed the house. It was cozy and warm after a long day of skiing. There were a couple of things that we didn't like such as the pillows on the bed and the less than comfortable chairs in the living room, but for the price, ability to cook our own food rather than pay exorbitant prices to eat out, and the location, I would recommend staying here. We will almost definitely go back for another ski weekend!
Everything was just like the pictures on the site! Plenty of room for the 6 of us (all adults). We were only a 15 minute drive to Magic Mountain. Also, there was a very close convenience store as well. Cable and internet we're provided and worked well. Kitchen was well stocked. Plenty of towels in the closets. We will definitely be booking again soon! My only advice to those staying...bring large trash bags because the kitchen and bath trash are very small. And pots and pans are medium size so bring large ones for pasta, etc. if you're cooking dinner. Also bring any odd utensils you would need, like a peeler. Everything else was spot on!! Thanks again for letting us stay. Great trip.
Perfect little cottage for a getaway! Very spacious.
Upon pulling up to the cottage I was worried about the space inside that was pictured on the website but I quickly saw all the photos were accurate and there were plenty of beds and rooms. It was the perfect location for a New Years getaway to Okemo. It was easy and fast to communicate with the managers of the cottage. Very cozy and warm despite the VERY cold negative degree temperatures. The living room area was a little tight for the six of us but there were plenty of chairs to bring into the room to expand seating. Kitchen had everything provided that we needed to cook and heat up meals as well as plenty of extra bedding, blankets and towels. I look forward to staying here again!
Thank you for the nice review! The cottage is a bit tight for 6 guests, but I am delighted you were able to be comfortable! Hopefully, we will have warmer temperatures when you return.
Very cute cottage
We stayed for a quick weekend getaway and we definitely will be back. The cottage was darling with a private setting. It was less than an hour drive to many places that we love to visit such as, Woodstock and Quechee. Beds were comfortable and as well as the couch and chairs. Simple and cozy cottage for our family of four and two dogs.
Great skiing and summer theater at its best!
