Why Chris Lambert chose Finger Lakes

There are many beautiful places to stay in the Finger Lakes. Cayuga Sunrise is located near the Village of Seneca Falls, Cayuga State Park, just a walk away from 2 great restaurants. The inground pool is such a nice place to hang out at and soak in the sun.

What makes this house unique

What is an added feature I like about the house is you can walk to Wolfy's for lunch or dinner. You can also walk to the Cayuga State Park.

Just What We Wanted

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Cayuga Sunrise was just what we were hoping for.

The 5 bedrooms and floor plan accommodated our family of 6 adults and 2 children under the age of 7 easily. The closed in front porch was great "bonus" space where adults and kids played games, put puzzles together, etc.

The hard wood/laminate flooring throughout the house and window A/C units gave our family members with strong allergies a chance recover from the outdoors. And, although a pet friendly rental, no one had allergy troubles sitting on the living room couch.

We called Chris a couple of different times to ask questions about the area and the pool. She responded quickly and cheerfully with helpful answers.

The gazebo down by the water is a beautiful place to sit by the lake and we used the waterfront access daily to launch our canoe and the two kayaks we rented from Puddledockers in Ithaca (Bring good water shoes. The rocks are rocky!).

The pool area was perfect. We could swim with the kids while getting dinner ready on the grill and then transition quickly from pool to dinner in the outdoor sitting/eating areas.

The kitchen was immaculate and had more than enough dishes, pots, pans, utensils, etc. to get the kid's mac & cheese made while also grilling steaks and serving wine to adults. The dishwasher worked hard for us!

The area was great for both kids and adults. Super children's parks, restaurants, groceries, etc. within 5 to 40 minutes drive depending on your mood.

In sum, thanks Chris for organizing a great stay for us. It was a treat to stay in a unique, original lake house with such wonderful character while also enjoying great modern amenities like cable TV, a microwave and a pool!

Perfect in every way!

  • 5 of 5

Like every house we rent, I am always nervous before we get there. I was much more at ease because of dealing with Chris. She was amazing and so accommodating. We went up for NYE and wine tasting. Chris even left us wood for the fireplace. The house was beautiful and so clean. I felt like I was home. We even saw the ball drop in Seneca Falls after having dinner. I would definitely recommend this house to others...only problem is, they will fall in love with it too and then there won't be any weekends left!!!! Thank you Chris for everything!!!!!

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to review the house. It is always a pleasure having people enjoy the house as much as I do. I bet the Village was very festive for the Holiday. Seneca Falls each year adds more and more to their Holiday calendar. Please be sure to come back and visit again. We would love to have you!

Perfect and Welcoming

  • 5 of 5

The house appeared to be newly remodeled and was nicely appointed. The patio and pool in the back was beautiful and a peaceful retreat.

Still, by far, the best featured of this home is its location. If you are looking for a place close to everything or one you can retreat to for a quick rest before returning to the action, this is the place for you.

Fantastic location lakefront. The backyard is an oasis. Location was awesome. And cleanliness was impressive. The pool and outside area was great! The pool area was great to relax in after a day of visiting the museums, too. So glad we found this place!

The gazebo at lakefront provided for great relaxation as we would watch the fisherman catching the catch for the local restaurants, (we loved Wolffys Grill). We cooked meals on the grill poolside which was a nice break from dining out. Enjoyed our breakfast and dinner overlooking the lake.

From the dining room and living room, you can also see the lake. We did do more cooking during this visit than in the past and found that the kitchen has everything you might need. The home is close to many wineries.

Great amenities, and at the same time have all the comforts of home, a clean home, beautifully decorated, responsive manager - Management made sure we were comfortable. all in all a great stay!

We stayed at this home for a long weekend this fall. Not only was the home a special retreat we had a very nice experience with the property manager. She was very responsive, friendly.

The home was so comfortable and relaxing. Great area too. We will be back.

FAMILY HOMESTEAD

  • 4 of 5

This was our family home up till 1982 when mom and dad sold it. We brought 4 generations back to the home for a week this summer...we did rent a second home north of the park for the third and fourth generations. My parents put in the pool, but the addition of the patio and fire pit was great. We had a fire most ever night and made smores. Our kids learned to dive and swim in the pool, and fish in the lake. Our only concern, it seems items may not get repaired, but in many cases closed down...hot tub gone, dock not in, expensive boat lift needs repair. However, all-in-all the home is in good shape, but may not remain without a little more owner TLC. Realize it is forsale (kids suggested we buy it) and this adds to the lack of re-investment. We hope the owners will keep it up and we get a chance to return in 2016...2015 we have a summer wedding in San Antonio. It is the premier rental in the Finger Lakes.

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying and enjoying your childhood home. We did indeed have a hot tub for a few years. It proved to not be so great after all. It took a lot of abuse and after considerable thought we decided to eliminate it. The insurance company had too many concerns of accidents and guest mixing situations including alcohol, under aged children not being attended. The dock and hoist were an added concern with people not knowing how to use the hoist properly. With the State Park just a mile down the road and Wolfy's restaurant less than 200 feet away with brand new boat slips, we felt this is a safer option for the guest. Our focus has been to keep up the home remodeling each room and the pool/patio area. The kitchen was recently remodeled and the upstairs bathroom will be done this fall. Thank you again for your input, I hope this helps in understanding why we had to eliminate those past options. Hope to see you back anytime...remember fall is one of the best times in the Finger Lakes area, be sure to try to come back then too!
