This was our third time staying at this complex. The location is amazing, quiet and just what we look for when looking for somewhere scenic and peaceful. There Is a lovely cafe just round the corner within walking distance and then a sports bar down the road (walking is longer that we thought ha! but still a lovely walk). We came in November this year and the weather was mild, sun still shined, but was ideal in the evening wrapping up next to the fire. We decided to spend Christmas and New Year in the other house a few years back and it was such a great holiday. New Year's Eve Was spent down the beach watching the fireworks and a huge street party taking place. The first time we came was in the summer back in 2012 and it's just as you would want it to be, sunshine every day with no clouds in the sky! With the pool on the complex and the beach round the corner, the location is just ideal! If you fancy a day out then it's all within driving distance. The people are so friendly and the food is delicious!! Definitely a favourite for us and we will continue to come here in future.
We had a lovely stay at Quinta do Bouro cottage. The cottage was well maintained and provided the ideal base from which to explore both the coast and further inland. We particularly enjoyed having coffee each morning at one of the several beach cafes in Foz, about 10 minutes from the cottage. We were made to feel very welcome during our stay and would definitely return again and recommend to friends visiting Portugal.
Very attractive property and great location . The cottage was a good size and generally very clean but could do with perhaps a little modernisation here and there. Eg the bathroom. Kitchen equipment could also be improved on and lighting could be better for reading. One or two things were a bit broken. Despite these small details , we had a great time and Alison was very helpful. The place might seem a bit crowded if all three properties were occupied by diffeent parties but for a large group of friends it would be fantastic.
Beautifully situated accommodation - stunning views from the pool area overlooking surrounding countryside. Each accommodation has a private patio area with outdoor furniture.
Accommodations could be enhanced with some modernising, however, I would not hesitate to return but would be more comfortable with a newer, firmer mattress. Only 10 minutes from a stunning beach and huge inland delta and numerous restaurants. All in all a delightful holiday.
A spacious and comfortable property in a peaceful location with a lovely garden. It is ideal for exploring this area of Portugal with swimming beaches close by. There are lots of interesting villages and towns to explore and Lisbon is within easy reach.
The owner had provided very helpful notes about the area and local restaurants. It would have been helpful to have downloaded the app for the wifi before we set off.
This property had everything I was after. It was in an idyllic, quiet location with amazing, unspoilt views along a valley. It was close to a number of lovely towns to explore, of which obidos and nazare were highlights and fantastic coast and the lagoon. It was spotless and the owners left a welcome pack of food out for us which included a bottle of the fantastic local wine They could not have been more helpful, providing the most accurate directions from Lisbon airport which enabled us to find our way in the pitch black to the cottage. It is remote but you do not feel too in the sticks as Foz is nearby with cafes and mini markets and a large supermarket is only a 10 minute drive. I have already recommended this property to family and friends and am planning a return visit.
Quinta do Bouro is set in a quiet village, close to the beach and busier villages and towns. There are plenty of dining options locally as well as excellent outdoor markets. Within easy reach is the UNESCO site, Obidos, a walled medieval town, traditionally gifted by the King of Portugal to his bride. The city of Tomar is within reach, where the highlight is the Castle of the Knights Templar, another UNESCO site. Alcobaça has an incredible monastery as well equally enticing cake shops! The largest natural lagoon in Europe, Obidos lagoon is only a few minutes by car and here you can kite surf, windsurf and kayak, sit in a cafe and watch the world go by, or simply lie on the beach and relax.
Just off shore are the Berlenga Islands, a nature reserve with crystal blue waters and secluded beaches to explore. There are also a choice of top quality golf courses all within easy reach.
