Compact, convenient and comfortable
We struggled to find the property given it was a dark winter’s evening. We were disappointed there was no oven to cook with and the instructions for the combi microwave / oven were very limited. Other than that we settled in and found it be a great location for visiting the likes of Grange over Sands and Ambleside which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was ideal for our get away from it all New Years Extended weekend break.
Great Location, Clean but Rather Small.
This is a really good location for accessing the northwest & lakes. Just off the M6.
Think Barn Conversion and you expect space and views, not here though. If you are visiting pack light, nowhere really for many clothes. (But there is a washing machine.) The kitchen overpowers the space somewhat but is not ideal for any serious cooking. This little barn is tucked away behind the farmhouse.
The inside is clean and in good condition though and the welcome wine is fine! The off-road parking is useful.

Cottage was small but had everything you need. Loved it.
Had a great stay. Cottage ideal for 2 people and the complimentary bottle of wine was much appreciated. Eat in the pub which literally a stones through across the road where food was good. Surrounding countryside was stunning. Will definitely use this cottage again.

The property is lovely a lot smaller than expected but loved it.
There was a bottle of wine left in the property too which was a nice gesture - however we don't drink!
Would recommend, crooklands hotel is next door for food, place is quiet even though its just off a main road.
Would definitely return.
Lovely cosy cottage,
Ideal location to stay and explore the Lakes and the Dales. Well equipped and quiet. We stayed for 4 nights and thoroughly recommend it.
Small but perfectly set out cottage
Stylish little property. Design & layout excellent utilising all available space. Initially dubious about microwave/ combi oven but worked very well. Despite busy main road it was quiet in the cottage & we slept well. Only downside, crockery cupboard damp & we had to wash plates, glasses etc before use. Think this could have been down to cottage not being occupied for a short while. Emma the owner very kindly left us a bottle of wine. Can recommend pear tree cottage. Good base for access to lakes. Walks available around the Lancaster canal close by. Crooklands Hotel next door. Ate there Saturday night, fairly good quality food, varied menu, bit pricey but 2 minute walk from cottage.
Pear Tree Barn is situated 1 mile from junction 36 of the M6,and just 6 miles south of the market town of Kendal. It is ideally placed for sampling the delights of the Lake District National Park and the Yorkshire Dales. Kendal, also known as the gateway to the lakes has a super selection of shops, bars and restaurants. The property is situated within a short walk of the popular Crooklands Hotel which offers both bar meals and an a la carte menu. The village of Endmoor is only half a mile away and has a local shop and a bakery. There are a good selection of walks from the door including the canal path and a scenic river walk.
