About Mary Spencer

We both loved the outdoors and especially fishing. We would take several trips each year specifically to enjoy our day(s) fishing. Typically this was in Florida, but we also liked Savannah, Chattanooga, Bahamas, and really anywhere that we could throw a line in. We only lived 90 minutes from Blue Ridge and Mary owned a company up there called Morning Breeze Cabin Rentals. Needless to say, we were heading in that directions on a very regular basis and finally decided to buy a cabin together on a lake, so we would have the best of both worlds...outdoors at its finest and fishing !

Mary Spencer purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Mary Spencer chose North Georgia Mountains

What's not to love about it!!! Mary was familiar with the Lakeview Escape when she owned another company up there and had her eye on it for several years. We spent quite a few weekends looking at dozens of cabins but she just kept saying, I think this one is going to come through. Sure enough, our realtor knew the original owners who was getting ready to sell it and before it hit the market, we got the option to make a bid on it. The Lake setting combined with the incredible mountain view are breath-taking. We roll out of bed in the mornings and sit out on the top deck with our cups of coffee and just take it all in. The location was also a plus, paved all the way and only 15 minutes to both the towns of Ellijay and Blue Ridge. We do like the great outdoors but we also like the luxury of having some great shops and fine dining restaurants at our fingertips. This cabin was definitely the one for us.

I hope anyone who has the opportunity to rent our cabin will enjoy it as much as we do. And if you catch a big fish, we want to see a picture :)

Guestbook comments from the owner

We came to Lakeview Escape for our 1st anniversary and decided to come back for our 4th. We are getting married this year and needed some peace from our busy lives. We didn’t leave the cabin all weekend and got to see snow. We can’t wait to come back

Love this place every time we stay! Relaxing, comfortable and accommodating. I love the fact that we can bring our dogs and are not charged for it. As long as they can Come, we will be back as much as we can.

A beautiful, quiet and peaceful setting. We hardly left the cabin it was so nice.

I would recommend the cabin to all dog lovers as ours thought the place was great. The little is very nice and being to take a canoe trip around it was fabulous. The cabin is very comfortable and appointed nicely. I would stay again any time.

Family Fun!

My family had a great time at the cabin! My teenage sons took the canoe out and loved it! We had a pool tournament and enjoyed relaxing in the jacuzzi!

Perfect Couple's Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I are newlyweds, and this was the perfect retreat for a weekend getaway for us and our little terrier, Bingo. Although we enjoyed some hiking excursions and winery tours in the surrounding area, we both felt like we could have never left the property and still had an amazing vacation. The view was beautiful and we enjoyed paddling around the lake in the canoe, soaking in the hot tub, and playing a few games of pool in the loft. We also made s'mores in the lakeside fire pit and enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck with the dog. Having the Griffin-Thrasher 3 mile trail start right at the lake's edge was also a huge bonus, and we loved being able to take off on a hike right out our back door. The only negative about this mountain getaway was having to leave it - we hope to return again in the future!

The best vacation ever!!

  • 5 of 5

The Lakeview Escape was an incredible cabin with one of the most breath-taking views of both the lake and the mountains. My boyfriend and I enjoyed sitting in the hot tub every night just looking out over the lake. We loved the canoe (which came with the cabin) and spent some time just floating around the lake. We fished from the dock and the grassy bank next to the cabin, I caught three fish and threw them back in. The fire-pit was so cozy, we relaxed with a nice glass of wine at dusk and just enjoyed our time together. We didn't bring out husky, Sheba, with us this time, but we definitely will on our next visit......which hopefully will be in the fall to see the colors, all in all, this was a fabulous cabin with an incredible setting and all the amenities that we needed
