Casa Mariposa is uniquely positioned at the opening of our beach trail allowing for white water views, and easy beach and trail access. It’s not uncommon to see dolphins swimming by. We are located in a tranquil neighborhood just north of the pier, where you’ll easily blend in with the locals, and are close enough to walk to the heart of downtown in 15 minutes. San Clemente is also uniquely positioned exactly between San Diego and Los Angeles, and each is approximately a one hour’s drive from here. And of course, Disneyland is 30 minutes up the road. Visit these locales for the day, then come home to the beach!
The free flowing, indoor-outdoor design is spacious and bright. View your flat screen TVs while lounging in the family room, or from your king-sized bed with the Westin Hotel’s “Heavenly Pillow-top” mattress. Two more can slumber on the collapsible EuroLoungers in the family room. Custom closets offer plenty of storage, and there’s also a built-in desk. Additionally included are 2 ceiling fans, a fireplace & plenty of storage throughout.
The custom kitchen is fully stocked with appliances and various spices, and includes a dishwasher and restaurant-grade Bertazzoni range. The bath is Jack & Jill style, allowing access from both the bedroom and family room. The toilet is separate from the shower, and each has its own sink, perfect for multiple guests. The bathtub/shower is a deep Euro-soaker, for those who enjoy bubble baths.
Directly in front is Mariposa Point Beach, perfect for swimming, surfing, body boarding, fishing and stand-up-paddling. The wave breaks over a small reef in front, and is typically best for surfing at a medium tide rising high. There are many other surf breaks within a very short walking distance, including T-Street Beach. World-class surfing at Trestles and San-O is just a 10-minute drive south. At low tide, the reef in front reveals star fish, sea anemones, sea urchins, muscles, snails, etc.

SHOPPING AND RESTAURANTS
Our quaint downtown area is only a few walking blocks away, offering stylish boutiques, surf shops, antique shops, and local and international cuisine. There is also a Farmer’s Market every Sunday, offering souvenirs, art, and locally grown organic fruits, vegetables and herbs. Take a short stroll to our pier, where you can take in the sun and ocean breezes, fish, or relax and dine at The Fisherman’s restaurant.

Doug and I are San Clemente natives, who've spent our entire lives surfing San Clemente. In 1999, we purchased this 4-unit condo, that offers spacious decks with ocean views, is a 1 minute stroll to the beach and to our beach trail. Of the four units, we live in one unit, two are vacation rentals and the fourth is home to our long term renter.
Sheryl Leverich purchased this condo in 1999

This was our second time to stay in this VRBO. It is a beautiful living space with a clear view to the ocean and a minute's walk to the path alongside the beach, for morning walks. Great restaurants from which to choose, and in our case, close to our family. We hope we can always time our visits in SoCal when this place is available. The owners do their best to accommodate our needs.
You can't go wrong renting this place! From the moment we stepped on the deck to enter the property we knew we were going to enjoy our stay. The deck is large and has a direct view of the ocean. The path to the beach is right in front of the house. Inside Sheryl and Doug have done an amazing job decorating. It had everything we needed for our stay. Plus they own a restaurant called The Grill. They provide a complimentary meal. It was so good we ate breakfast there two more times. We loved being walking distance to the pier and the restaurants near the pier. Bring your bikes. There is a great trail that runs next to the ocean. Thanks for everything Sheryl and Doug.
This was our second stay at this lovely property and everything was as perfect as the first time. The interior is furnished exactly as pictured and is so very clean. With the beautiful view and the sound of the surf we enjoyed spending time lounging on the deck - don't pass up the beach trail for a run or casual walk and the town offers cute shops and restaurants. I'm looking forward to stay number 3.
Doug and Sheryl were amazing hosts. Everything in the home was exactly what we were looking for. It was a well kept, clean home. The location was amazing and a quiet neighborhood. We would absolutely come back!
San Clemente is a wonderful town, beaches were beautiful! Sheryl and Doug made the stay perfect, they thought of everything to make our stay so carefree. Can't wait to go back!
We heard about this property from a friend of a friend....and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. I came here with my husband and 13 year old son, and it was roomy enough for us. The condo was spacious, immaculate, comfortable, and the view of the ocean and sound of the surf were awesome. Sheryl and Doug were friendly and helpful, yet respected our privacy, and we felt really at home here. The free meal at their Grill at Surfin' Donuts was delicious, and an extra treat.
This gave us such a feeling of actually "living" in San Clemente, as it is in a nice neighborhood, not an area full of hotels. The downtown is charming and a pleasant walk. My husband and son took the 5 which was close by, and went to Six Flags, and I was able to explore the town. Finding a yoga studio and then getting a Tibetan bowl and gong sound massage, then walking "home" on the beach was a really fun, unusual discovery! The beach walk is over 3 miles long, didn't walk it all, but such a nice way to see the ocean and watch surfers. We took a train to San Diego Old Town one day from the Pier station, which was another great day. The highlight, still, was this lovely condo! We loved being on the patio and in the living room or kitchen, seeing that view and hearing the waves.....I'd highly recommend, and hope to be back!
San Clemente is centrally located between San Diego, which is one hour's drive south, and Los Angeles, one hour's drive north.
San Diego attractions include Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, Padres or Chargers games, World Class golfing at Torrey Pines, the cities of Del Mar and La Jolla, and numerous beautiful beaches.
Disneyland is a 40 minute drive north, with Knott's Berry Farm a little further up the road. Or, go to LA for the day and visit Universal Studios or Hollywood, or see the Hollywood sign or go to a Lakers or Clippers game.
