Located in Islamorada, the fishing capital of the world, this house is tucked away in a quite neighborhood on the bay side. The backyard consists of a private beach, custom BBQ pit, and a long pier with magnificent views of the Florida bay. There is ample room and depth to dock several boats in case you have any company. You will experience beautiful sunsets right off the end of the dock with a nice cool ocean breeze. During the day grab a rod and reel and toss in a line right off the dock, or jump in and grab a lobster nestled in the rocks below.
If the surf is too much for you to handle the house is just minutes from the famous Tiki Bar. If you want to go more upscale jump in the boat or car and head over to Mile Marker 88, a half mile away. Fantastic restaurants and bars abound, guaranteed not to disappoint.
The house comes equipped with high speed Internet accessible throughout the house along with cable and HDTV so you don’t have to worry about missing your favorite team play.
All the bathrooms have been recently updated with marble tile and fresh new fixtures. The master bedroom is furnished with a king size bed and it has a big walk in closet and a master bath with a separate powder room. The upstairs guest room is made up of two twin beds.
In the living room and family room there are plenty of couches just incase the sleeping quarters get too cramped. Just outside the living room and dining room there is a great screened in porch for relaxing and reading. There is a nice deck just outside the screened in porch running the length of the house for catching some rays.
Downstairs you will find a private suite with a queen bed and a full futon (comfortable spring mattress) along with its own private bathroom. Just outside the suite is a custom BBQ pit ready for grilling up your catch of the day.
Born and raised in Miami. Growing up I spent most of my weekends down in the Keys fishing, diving, and doing plenty of water sports. Recently I have been very busy with work and have not had much time to spare. We as a family finally made the decision to share this wonderful place.
Grant Souviron purchased this house in 1982
This house has been in the family for thirty years and will continue to stay in the family for at least another generation. This is where my dad taught me how to dive and fish and I plan to do the same with my own.
The warm water, marine life, and quick boat rides to all the cool spots in the middle keys made me fall in love with this place. The view and sunsets are amazing. It's close enough to Miami to make it an enjoyable drive yet far enough away to make you believe you are in another world.
We are a family of 6 that rented the house in July. First time renters on VRBO.
We found the house everything as advertised. On a quiet residential street close to all amenities.
It was clean, roomy, and well equipped. The bathrooms had all recently been updated, and our 2 15year olds particularly enjoyed the independence the downstairs room offered. Being July we all enjoyed the air-conditioning.
As previously reviewed the best part was out the back and the dock. We spent a lot of time snorkelling round the pier, feeding the fish and 'larry the lobster' in our own private aquarium.
We rented paddle boards and a canoe for the week from Paddle the Keys, who just dropped and collected off at the house. Paddle boarding to Marker 88 for food and margaritas was a unique experience, proving more difficult on the return. They also offered convenient boat rental off the pier.
For our family the house was great, well located to visit all of the Keys, would definitely recommend.
p.s Best Hogfish sandwich at Brutus Seafood Market, Marathon.
The listing detail is very accurate. Very spacious and private. Extremely clean and the owner quick on items that needed attention. Excellent customer service from the owner. You do NOT need to bring anything for the kitchen/laundry/linens. All items are included. (even TP/PT). Peaceful and relaxing vacation. The best part is sitting on the patio enjoying the view. Great area to dock boat and great fishing from the dock. Would definitely recommend for a wonderful vacation.
When I first decided to book this property for our Keys vacation I was a little hesitant! I had been in the area several times and each experience is different. I must say that the choice to stay at Bahia Verde was my best choice yet! Everything is as advertised and you couldn't ask for a better person to deal with than Grant! The location is perfect on the bay and minutes from Snake creek / Tavernier creek which allow you immediate access to the Ocean. The sunsets were absolutely beautiful and the dock gives you a feeling freedom out on the water with the breeze blowing consistently. The neighbors were great people and seem very approachable, everything just seemed right there. Thank you grant for sharing your home with us we will definitely be return customers in the future!
This place is a hidden gem. We loved the dock the most and fished and snorkeled every day. It was literally like being inside a salt water aquarium watching lobster, tropical fish, sea anenomes, etc each day. At night we caught tons of small fish and even barracuda. The house was comfortable and fully stocked. Loved the experience.
We have been vacationing in and around Islamorada for quite a few years. We have stayed in much fancier and some lesser properties, but this is our favorite. Our friends who stayed at various properties and resorts, also tended to congregate here. Great location, great views and 5 minutes by boat to Snake Creek for some decent inshore tarpon and shark fishing.
Wonderful house in a great location. My wife and I had limited time due to this being a business/pleasure trip, but it could not of been a more perfect setting to relax in and unwind. Every year we take our children/grandchildren to the panhandle of Florida and rent a house. With the outdoor space, the dock, indoor space and other great features this rental is not just for a great getaway for a couple but a wonderful place to bring the kids!
This house is located in the heart of Islamorada, just minutes from the famous Robbys marina where you can feed the giant Tarpons. It's well worth the trip if you haven't been there before. If you have a desire to swim with dolphins the theater of the sea is just around the corner. The famous John Pennekamp coral reef park is just a 20 minute drive north. Take a snorkeling tour of the reef and see all the amazing marine life, a must do! If you are into bird watching the wild bird center is just a 10 minute drive away. They have a diverse variety of birds that they rescue and reintroduce into the wild. To sum everything up the location doesn't get much better.
