Financial Industry executive realizing a life long dream of owning a slice of heaven on the beach. I spent many years looking for the right place to unwind from a fast paced life. My 'must have' list included a location convenient to a major international airport and easily accessible by highway and roadway. New construction, modern spacious layout and 24 hour security in a gated community were a must. Professionally landscaped and maintained grounds rounded my list. I found all that I was looking for plus the utmost in tranquility and comfort at Grand Bay Beach.
Arleen purchased this condo in 2012
I always wanted a beachfront property. I dreamt of lazy days on the beach reading books and evening walks along the coastline. I searched both coasts of the United States and other Caribbean islands until I came across Grand Bay Beach. Finding such a fantastic location on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico was an amazing dream come true. When this property came on the market, the fact that it was a modern complex in a gated community, only steps from the beach with a golf course across the street and the spectacular Bahia Beach resort next door, I knew I'd found the perfect place.
Modern, convenient, secluded and private. The apartment is ample, yet cozy and inviting. The beachfront is beautiful with miles of shoreline to explore. The tranquil sounds of the ocean waves crashing on the beach and the sea breeze are intoxicating. The proximity to world famous attractions, water sports and local cuisine make this location ideal for families or friends in search of a break from real life.
Fabulous location - quick easy 30 minute drive from San Juan. Safe and quiet gated community with reserved covered and uncovered parking. Beautiful pool area with covered area if you like. The 2 pools are clean and wonderful (one of the pools is 3 feet deep - great for children). Incredible immaculate condo with all modern appliances and amenities. The beach is wonderful. Arleen (owner) was terrific and very helpful with planning and answering all questions. Jorge (on site manager) was incredibly helpful when we arrived. Beautiful beach views from the balcony. The condo was extremely spacious (2 floors). The local grocery store (Ralph's) was a quick 5-10 minute drive away from the condo. El Yunque Rainforest was a quick 15 minute drive away. El Verde BBQ for lunch was amazing (local delicious food 5 minutes away), as well as La Parrilla and Ceviche Hut (both at Luquillo Kiosks) about 15 minutes away from the condo were fabulous restaurants for dinner. I would recommend this condo to everyone without hesitation.
We (4 adults) stayed at the condo from February 11, 2016 to February 18, 2016 and couldn't have been happier with our choice of accommodations. We had a bit of a difficult finding it the first day but no fault of the directions provided - the men just wouldn't listen, hahaha! Everything was exactly as pictured and described and if I had to come up with something to comment on, it would be the beach.... not as nice as I expected as it is quite sloped. There is however, one of the best beaches about 15mins away. The location is great for a quiet place to stay with the convenience of being about 30-45 mins from San Juan (watch the traffic around rush hour though!).
I hope to go back & perhaps stay at a few different places to explore more and if we do I would certainly try and rebook this unit.
The condo exceeded our expectations. It was well furnished and everything was in working order. Renting the property, check in, and checkout was a well oiled machine! The property was beautiful and the weather was in the low and mid 80's. It was a great escape from North Dakota in January. Our family really enjoyed the abundance of restaurants nearby, and the recommendations in condo were spot on. Our family visited the rain forest, zip lined, snorkeled, fished, and toured the fort and old San Juan. Every tour we went on the service and cleanliness was exceptional. However you rate this vacation it was 5 stars or a 10!
We loved the condo, once we got there. A little mix-up on our arrival date, but Arleen made it right. Then on our drive in, we were stopped by a gathering of 50 or so cowboys and their steeds in the middle of the road. Off to an unusual start to our vacation! Giddyup!!
This home is probably the nicest we've experienced thru VRBO, and we've been to several. There was a problem with the living room air conditions for the last 3 days, but fortunately the temps weren't bad during our holiday stay. And we spent most of our days down at the beautiful beach anyway, riding the boogie boards and taking long walks. Although we didn't have the long beach totally to ourselves, we encountered only a few families, pelicans and an old-school fisherman throwing a handline). Kitchen was well-stocked, and 3 TVs is great for a family watching different programs NY Eve!
We enjoyed a guided hike up the nearby El Yunque in the only USFS National Park rain forest, and visited the kiosk restaurants in Luquillo. As for Puerto Rico, the weather was great -- hot, a few brief light showers (we ARE by the rain forest) followed by gorgeous rainbows. Only wish my Spanish was better, because it's not easy finding English speakers. Made it challenging to make reservations on the phone, etc. Made me wish we could just call a concierge!
We spent 5 nights at Arleen's condo with our two children under 6. We had an awesome time. It was a perfect amount of space, very clean & wonderfully quiet. Sleeping downstairs living are upstairs made it easy during naps to still hangout and make noise. The clean beach & pool were ours to enjoy alone most days although the wave were a bit rough for the little ones, we enjoyed boogie boarding while they played in the sand. Beach wagon, sand toys, chairs, boogie boards, cooler & other supplies were all provided! We bought groceries for our breakfasts having a full kitchen with all the necessities was great. We loved every minute and would come back in a heartbeat. We took day trips to another island, old San Juan, Rainforest and Luquillo beach a car is a MUST!
Property is as described. Maintenance requests were promptly addressed. Beach towels provided. Nice washer/dryer. Area is quiet. The few other families there were very nice. You need reservations if you want to eat at neighboring St. Regis. Relatively close to rain forest and other beaches. Not far from San Juan. The touted food kiosks you read about were below our hygiene standard. Many nice dining options in Old San Juan.
This community is bordered to the east by the Atlantic Ocean and El Yunque Rainforest, to the west by the well-known Berwind Golf Course and to the south by Bahia Beach, home to the five-star St. Regis Resort and Golf Club.
