After driving past the apple barn, covered bridge, and waterfall, the creek lined road reveals breathtaking, soul renewing views. Keep driving up into the sky because the High Five is nestled in the trees at an elevation of 3900 feet. You have arrived at heaven on earth! The wrap around porch, hammock and unlimited view welcomes you into our NEW 3 floor cabin. The main floor includes the living room with gas fire place, master suite, dining and kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless appliances and granite counters. Upstairs we have an open light filled loft and a luxurious master suite with king size bed, sitting area, 32 inch television, and a claw foot bath tub. The walk out ground floor has two more bedrooms (queen bed and four twins), a family room with 60 inch tv, fireplace, full bath and 7 person hot tub on the deck. The bunk room has 4 twins, a cozy loft play area and tv. Each bunk is designed to be a cozy bear's lair with mini windows and reading lights. If you enjoyed forts as a kid, it is a dream come true! Tara M. purchased this cabin in 2012
We have vacationed in the area for many years. After exploring one day, we drove as high as the road would take us and came to the location where we built High Five. The air was fresh, the trees were rustling and our eyes were in disbelief of the natural beauty before us.
High Five is wonderfully private, beautiful piece of earth that renews my soul every time. Unique custom layout designed by owner.
Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our visit to your cabin. We had such a good time. It was even more beautiful than I could have imagined and I am planning on being a regular visitor to your High Five Cabin.
We loved everything about it! Location was great. Loved having to pass a little farm with lots of animals. (the kids really enjoyed that). The view and the beautifully decorated cabin was amazing! We loved your attention to detail down to the Berkshire blankets on the beds (which by the way I am getting one!)lol.
You have truly thought of every detail and it shows! Thank you for your attention to detail while working with us and your above and beyond attitude. We will be back.
Absolutely gorgeous location. Mornings were so peaceful and brilliant sunrises. Home was just beautiful. Will look forward to going back!
My wife and our 2 kids stayed at High Five the week after new years. The drive to the top of the mountain and the views were incredible. The house is immaculate and well stocked (not your typical rental). The the kids had a blast on the bunk beds!!! Ski resorts, tubing, a winery, and great restaurants are just 10-15 minutes drive. If you are looking for a "Great Escape" from life, want to re-charge or, re-connect with the family .... this is the place. We'll definitely be back!!!
The 3 bedrooms and bunk room were comfortable for our family of 6 adults and 2 children. Spacious downstairs den was roomy enough for all of us to watch football! Furnishings and amenities made you feel like you were at home. Owners were easy to get in touch with and wanted to make sure we had what was needed.
We stayed at high five over Labor Day weekend. Our family of just 5. The kids loved the bunk room, hammock and big tv. Although the drive up takes some time you get amazing views and a great location to all kinds of activities and restaurants. We loved our relaxing weekend. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable! We would definately recommend it and come back.
This beautiful, well-appointed new home with sensational sunrise views (you'll want to wake up early every day to see it) is easily accessed from both the Valle Cruces and Foscoe sides thus putting the property in great proximity to all that the NC High Country has to offer! After the full day of hiking at nearby Grandfather Mtn., we were happy to be able to soak our weary bodies in the large hot tub overlooking the mountain range we had just hiked! Wonderful new kitchen appliances make for enjoyable, langerous mornings cooking huge breakfasts in preparation for the long days of adventures that await you in nearby Julian Price Memorial Park or the swimming holes thatinclude Twisting Falls and Hebron Falls. Good restaurants in nearby Banner Elk are also covieniently located to the sensational property as well. Can't wait to return!
It is an awesome experience to view sunrise/sunsets from this vantage point and the accommodations are top notch!
I will recommend to anyone looking to get back to nature and away from the everyday routine as this is the most relaxing place I've been!
You can have it all...adventure or leisure. We have young kids that love horse back riding, tubing, sledding, hiking, biking at Valley Crucis Park and the goodies at the original Mast General Store (1.5 miles).
