Exactly what we were hoping for. An older cabin with just enough updates.
We wanted a cabin in Green Mountain Falls that still felt “old”, but had just enough updates to be comfortable. This hit the mark spot on. Some of the older cabins in the area have been completely remodeled and they lose that rustic charm. This one has not. The views from the master bedroom are beautiful, the bed was comfortable, and waking up with the windows open was a piece of heaven. My little boys had a blast playing outside around the cabin, feeding chipmunks from their hand, watching the humming birds, and using their imaginations. The view out the living room window did not disappoint. The phone and WiFi were not working when we arrived (which is common in this area), but when I reached out to the owner it was fixed promptly and we had no other issues. The bathroom has been updated and the hot water never ran out on us. Check-in and out were also both very easy.
I have memories from my childhood spending summer vacations in a cabin similar to this one in GMF and my boys got to make the same memories at this cabin. They are already planning their return and my husband and I are right along with them. We will be back!
A cabin getaway
Had a wonderful vacation, so glad, nabbed this cabin in the mountains, and, even though we are not hikers, there is so much to do within 45 min.
One amazing cabin...
The views that surround this home/cabin are truly and exquisite and picturesque. The deck gave us many memories to simply sit and enjoy the sounds of the mountains/creeks/animals and overall nature. There's a picnic table outside as well on the grounds. Inside, we had everything we needed to enjoy and scratch all of the modern itches we've been accustomed to having (wifi, full-kitchen w/ everything, bathroom, tv, etc...) while at the same time remaining beautifully vintage with a historic cabin vibe. The view from the master bedroom was probably one of the greatest views we've ever had from a bedroom, it took our breath away every morning. The owners were so kind in leaving us cookies along with a kind welcome card and note along with very clear instructions on how to leave the cabin and appreciated information on activities/places that were near. We are so thankful our family of 5 was able to stay here and would take every opportunity given to seek to stay again!
Colorado Cabin in the Woods
This property was exactly what we were look for for our stay in the Pike's Peak area. Close to Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds, Manitou Springs, and Pike's Peak. And most importantly, close to nature. We saw several deer in the yard a couple coming right up to the deck.
Fun cabin to experience mountain life
This cabin is a great place to observe all types of mountain wildlife. The owners even provided bird food to attract the wildlife. This does not feel like a rental cabin, but more like you are staying with a friend, or family member. The kitchen is fully stocked and there is everything you could possibly need. The only drawback was the fire ordinance. The pictures made it appear you could make a campfire. However they are not allowed at the cabin. The kids were disappointed they could not make s’mores. Everything else was wonderful!
Connect with nature
Awesome cabin with a lot of nature and animals. Cabin has everything you might need for your stay. Great for hiking and close to Colorado Springs. 4WD is recommended. Lovely town with great dinning.
