The property has been designed by a renowned Italian architect to incorporate the original farming units on the plot (liame) and it showcases plenty of original and contemporary features. The villa expands over 3 levels and is clad in local stone, seamlessly blending in the stunning coast line. In elevated position on a sloping hill facing the beautiful natural port of San Gregorio to the left and open sea to the right, it has access to an old path to the sea below (100 m). The property is surrounded by a beautiful garden with olive and fruit trees and is extremely quiet. The accommodation can be flexible and families or groups of friends are welcome. We will be happy to try and accommodate any special request. Enquiries by email only please.
I am Italian but live in the UK with my family (husband John and two daughters). I help my parents market this property as they are not so computer literate...
Martina Zagaria purchased this villa in 1980
This house is our summer holiday family home where we reunite each year to enjoy each other company. My parents, the owners, and one of my brothers from Naples, my other brother from Milan and I, from the UK. We have been spending our holidays here since our teenage and the house has grown with time to accommodate our growing families (15 in total at peak time...). We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.
The undisturbed views over a picturesque bay, quiet location and sympathetic construction and layout will surprise you.
I have stayed here on several occasions.
It's always a pleasure.
The location is tranquil.
The seaview is incomparable.
The house itself is completely charming and couldn't be more comfortable from the good beds, fully equipped kitchen to the indispensable veranda where you can eat every meal with the sea for company.
The owners and their appointed caretakers make this Salento at its best.
Old Roman port, Marina di San Gregorio boasts clean, turquoise waters and plenty of restaurants and bars. Only 3 km away from Leuca and its amenities and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Visit nearby historic towns such as Otranto, Nardo', Gallipoli and Lecce to name but a few. You will be enchanted by the stunning views from the property terraces and the secluded garden with olive trees and a small orchard. Enjoy a long summer (typically June to September) and mild and sunny off peak periods. Quiet and romantic, you will want to visit again and again. Google maps directions available on request.
Other Activities: Plenty of summer festivals July to August with local food and 'Pizzica' music
