Beautiful home and garden

  • 5 of 5

Your own private woods and lavish garden as well as an open lawn for kids and dog to run free and decks for sitting and dining--this house provides both space and nooks for you and your family or guests. We loved our two weeks and highly recommend this peaceful and gracious retreat. The house is well-supplied with most everything that you would need. And although isolated on a country road, you are within a half hour of many outdoor and kids' activities and Berkshire destinations. The owners stay in touch to respond to your questions and, as new owners, are eager to make sure your stay is a happy one. The pool has had a number of problems but is due for a new thermometer, which should do the trick. For young children, we would suggest bringing additional toys and swim accessories. And the grill requires charcoal, so you might want to bring your own starter, if you have a preference.

A great family reunion retreat for all!

  • 5 of 5

This home and property offered an incredibly relaxing getaway for our family reunion for guests aged 6 to 80. The home has comfortable sleeping accommodations on three floors, offering everyone in a larger party a nice private place to retreat in the evening, or just for a nap or some quiet time during the day. Meal preparation was easy in the well appointed kitchen, and the dining table and deck made for a great place to enjoy meals together. The grounds are beautiful, and the pool was wonderful! It rained a fair amount during our stay, but we enjoyed swimming when we could, inter-generational wiffle-ball games, hunting for frogs, and picking raspberries from the bushes. And when the rain came down hard, we enjoyed the sound system and lots of games! This home and the property is simply wonderful- leaving little need to venture out. We'd definitely stay again, and recommend it highly.

The Highlight of our Summer...

  • 5 of 5

My words will not do this rental justice...This rental is off the beaten path and secluded; however easily accessible. The tall pine forest welcomes you into a beautiful oasis of perfectly groomed and lush floral gardens surrounding the home. There is an amazing pool the kids really enjoyed (we couldn't get them out of it); and a flat grassy area large enough for a fun game of whiffle ball and/or lawn games. We also brought our bikes to bike around the hilly countryside. The home itself is simply magnificent! Plenty of space for our three family reunion. We didn't feel like we were crammed for space at all. There is a finished basement area the kids loved to hang out in; and multiple living rooms to relax in. The kitchen is well stocked and open. You have many options on where to eat. There is a large table that fit everyone; a round table in the other room which was perfect to play cards on as well; and then there were the teak tables & chairs on the grand deck out back. Just perfect! We were outside all the time. The owner, Sarah, is very easy to deal with and quickly responded to my questions by email or phone. All three families claimed that this "was the highlight of our summer". The only drawback was we didn't stay long enough...I would highly recommend renting this house. You will be happy that you did. Thank you Sarah for sharing your house...

The most beautiful rental house we have ever stayed in

  • 5 of 5

AMAZING. That is the best word to describe our vacation. This house and property are the perfect retreat from a busy life. It is so secluded, spacious and quiet and yet it was only 20 to 25 minutes from everything fun to do in the Berkshires. The gardens surrounding this house are spectacular and the smells from the flowers were just lovely. The pool and area surrounding it was so amazing we had a hard time leaving it. The house is so well stocked we didn't need anything. I have never rented a house that had such a well stocked kitchen and having the linens included made it so much easier to pack for our trip. The owners were so accommodating and helpful! Our trip could not have been any better. We will definitely come back to this house again and again. I highly recommend renting this house, you won't be disappointed!

The Pine Forest

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this beautiful home over the New Year's holiday. There was nine of us in our party, and the large kitchen and huge kitchen table was plenty big enough so that we could all eat together, a big thing for us since we each take a turn making a meal. The first floor master bedroom is very comfortable with a fireplace and bookshelves filled with hundreds of books. There is too nice rooms for lounging, one with a fireplace, multiple sofas, and plenty of wood and the other a second Den with a large TV. During our stay, we had 8 inches of snow so we enjoyed some great skiing at Jiminy Peak which is 10 to 15 minutes away. Perhaps most impressive, is that the home is surrounded by gorgeous 50 foot pine trees, the perfect quiet and peaceful setting to get away from it all. We found the home to be clean, comfortable, well maintained and as promised in every way. Sarah was wonderful to work with during the rental process, making it very easy to reserve and visit. It would be great to return sometime during the summer to enjoy the outdoors, spacious decks and the pool. We highly recommend this beautiful property.

A Wonderful Week

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful house to have our small family reunion in recently. Being away from the hustle-bustle of any town made our visit quiet, intimate and rejuvenating.

The house itself is very open and comfortable. The living room with several seating areas provided lots of space for visiting and reading. The media room was cozy and inviting (we worked on a puzzle there). Both rooms were adjacent to the kitchen which made for great flow and visiting even while participating in different activities. This house in incredibly appointed with beautiful dishes, great cooking utensils and everything you might need to run a household - even on vacation!

The grounds are spectacular! While we were there in August, the flowers were splendid. We were encouraged by the owner to pick some and bring them inside which we did. In the front of the house,we enjoyed playing croquet on the spacious lawn and loved swimming in the heated pool.

In the back, we had a number of meals on the large deck which overlooked a sizable lawn including a frog pond and also a forested area. We saw a deer and some wild turkeys.

Within a half hour's drive, we went to Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow and some summer theater- lots to do within a short drive. The large , super grocery store was also about 25 minutes away.

Our family loved the house inside and out - and we would highly recommend it.
