Privileged location - In peaceful countryside but easy to reach from the motorway, from the train station, airport of Bologna. Excellent and convenient base for visits cultural tourism. A few minutes from all services, various typical restaurants, food stores and supermarket.
Charming apartments - Spacious, independent and real quality apartments, characteristic, carefully restored and equipped with all comforts and furnished keeping intact the charm of the rural tradition of Romagna.
We believe that we are offering something that has been missing in Romagna: not average farm holiday accommodation, not uninspiring flats, but cozy apartments in historical villa in which the owners themselves reside, amid the charm of history , comfort and tradition.
Family management - Managing reservations, keys delivery, ceck-in and ceck-out run by Franco and his family who live in the main part of the villa and are always available for any question or information
Excellent example of Italian Villa visitation. Great location, near town of Dozza and great restaurants; not far from the Adriatic shore. We enjoyed the hospitality, the restful stay on the farm-like property and easy access in and out of the facility. We recommend staying here away from the bustle of town and among the peaceful hilltop Italians.
We can confirm all previous reviews. Wonderful place, spacious both indoors and out, very kind owner. Excellent choice for our holiday (travelling with our 10 month old son).
We had a warm welcome. Everything was as advertised. Very comfortable. Air conditioning, which we did not need to use, is an extra cost. Large property. Good position close to Dozza which has some good restaurants.
We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Calanco. We stayed in appartment Natalia and the appartment had everything we could have wished for. It is the perfect spot for visiting cities such as Bologna, Parma and Ferrara and also for smaller towns like Faenza, Imola and Brisighella. Our highlights were Palazzo Milzetti in Faenza and the Malatestiana library in Cesena.
Due to circumstances we had to postpone our stay at Villa Calanco for two weeks. Franco was very helpful in finding us a suitable solution and did not even charge us anything extra!
We highly recommend Villa Calanco and we will definitely return for another holiday!
This is a lovely place, the photos are accurate, the place is clean and well-maintained and has everything you need for a vacation. It is close to the autostrada as well as a train station and perfect for day trips (need a car here). Franco, the owner, lives on the property and is consistently around for help and good advice. Dozza is very near by and is a charming town with good restaurants.
Really enjoyed our stay at this charming location which is perfect for visiting Bologna and the other nearby attractions such Imola, Faenza and the lovely village of Dozza. Our apartment was perfect and the gardens were lovely for eating outside. Highly Recommended!

Dozza is situated on the crest of a hill gently down toward the Via Emilia between Bologna and Imola, Dozza looks like a touch of color, in an atmosphere outside of time. A medieval village which ancient structure is still well preserved. Dozza is famous for “The Biennal Painted Wall” during which the village becomes alive with artists coming from all over the world who paint directly on the walls of the houses. So the village, with its typical 'to zone' structure surrounded by city walls becomes a beautiful open air art gallery always visible. We also suggest to visit the wonderful and mighty fortress with the adjoining Enoteca Regionale Emilia Romagna, where it is possible to taste and buy the regional wines.
Dozza, is part of the club 'The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy', an association for promoting the great heritage of history, arts, culture, environment and traditions present in the small Italian towns which are ,by the most part, excluded from the flows of tourists.
