Conveniently located close to some of the best area attractions, Garden City Beach is directly south of Surfside Beach and ends on a peninsula at the mouth of Murrells Inlet. One of the most renowned attractions in Garden City Beach is the Pier at Garden City. Other attractions include Marlin Quay Marina, Gulf Stream Cafe, Original Sam's Corner, and Sara J's Seafood Restaurant.

Just south of Garden City Beach is Murrells Inlet, a seaside community that is considered to be the "Seafood Capital of South Carolina", but is also home to some of the nation's best golf courses. Once primarily a fishing village, the town is best known for the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk, a half-mile long boardwalk overlooking a pristine salt marsh, and the many award-winning seafood and barbecue restaurants along Highway 17 Business in the central business district.

Brookgreen Gardens, a sculpture garden and wildlife preserve built on four former rice plantations, is located slightly south of Murrells Inlet. It features several themed gardens with American figurative sculptures placed in them, trails through several nature reserve ecosystems and the Lowcountry Zoo.

If you're looking for places to shop, Inlet Square Mall, The Market Common, Coastal Grand, Myrtle Beach Mall, Broadway at the Beach, Barefoot Landing, two Tanger shopping outlets, countless strip-malls, and many more shopping facilities are all within an easy drive from Garden City Beach. Looking for some entertainment, take in a show at Alabama Theater, Medieval Times, The Carolina Opry, Pirates Voyage, and Legends in Concert. And don't forget about Ripley's Aquarium, Alligator Adventure, Hard Rock Cafe, Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, and The Pavilion Nostalgia Park.

Other points of interest close by include the waterfront community of Georgetown, the third oldest city in South Carolina and second largest seaport in South Carolina, and historic Conway with its downtown Riverwalk area nestled on the banks of the Waccamaw River. Both towns include fine dining, shopping, and historic sites.

Surfside Beach, Garden City Beach and Murrells Inlet are all close to Waccamaw Hospital and several urgent care facilities.

Whatever your desire, whatever your need, the south strand offers a little something on everyone's to-do list. We have a variety of restaurants, retail stores, miniature golf, entertainment venues, charter fishing, water sports... and of course, nothing but relaxation.

Reviewer Comments:

This house appears to be a very nice vacation rental with a good location. As for location you have to walk a block over to get to the beach access, so yes you are second row but you still have a walk. Once you take a look inside and out you realize that it is a VERY DIRTY rental! The floors are so nasty that no one in our party ever walked around without shoes or socks the entire time! Also it is listed as hardwood floors, no it is all laminate and peeling in many places. Also, the ceiling is falling in a couple spots. All the couches are also nasty with stains and a sandy feeling on them. The bedding is no better with stains and again a overall dirty feeling. Oh and many of the lights did not work which made the master bathroom extremely dark! Outside area is also dirty with sand and dirt everywhere. You could not even sit on the back porch without your clothes getting black on them. As for the "outdoor kitchen" I wouldn't boil water in it. Cockroaches and filth everywhere! Even frozen bugs in the freezer outside. Oh and a bonus if it rains at all then the downstairs hangout area floods and the water has no where to drain!Same thing with the outdoor showers, no where for the water to drain, so you are standing in the water. We even found dirty underwear outside by the pool light that was left from previous guests. If you can overlook all of that then you get to the downstairs bedroom...what an absolute joke!! The entire room smelt of mildew and weed. It was so bad even the cleaners at the property told us that they didn't have anything that could fix that room, it would need to be fumigated. We had to end up putting a couple on the pullout sofa because that room was unusable! I have never stayed in something so nasty in all my life, this property needs to be looked at by the rental company, I can not believe they could even rent this place!

Reviewer Comments:

The lay out of the house was perfect for our family vacation. However, the house was very dirty. The cleaning service had not swept the hard wood floors through out the house. There was sand on the sofa. The kitchen was a mess. We had to wash everything before we used it. Of course with every beach rental the kitchen is disorganized since most renters don't take care to put things away. The outside pool area was a disaster. We had to go buy cleaner and a scrub brush just so that we could stand going down to the pool. It was obvious that the renters the week before had a big party and did not clean up. It was much more than the 1 cleaning person could handle. They obviously did little except pick up the trash. I would not plan on using the downstairs bedroom. The window air condition keep the room very musty. With that said, we still had a great time. Easy access to the beach. The open floor plan of the living space was great. The owner can thank my mother for putting together their 30 or so puzzles and returning the pieces to the proper boxes. The front porch was very nice. Lots of parking. Pool was nice and clean. The description of the house indicated that the owner had a private cleaning service and yard maintenance. I would fire them both. They are not taking care of your rental.

Reviewer Comments:

The house was beautiful, very roomy, super nice pool and parking area. Only minor issues were the lights did not work in the passage way from parking to pool. The down stair air conditioner flooded the floor in the passage way, and the floors were kind of dirty let your feet black. The stay was awesome though will be back.
