Visiting other countries, meeting people belonging to other cultures, is my great passion. I have traveled all around the world, lived in many different homes, hotels, apartments, and I know what makes a traveler feel at home. I will try to offer this to our guests. I grew up in Italy as a foreigner, having Austrian parents, and then settled down here marrying an Italian, that's why I know and love this country profoundly. I will love to share my knowledge with those who come to our home. Having myself two little children, I know what it means to travel with children, and our home will be really child friendly, full of toys, games, books and other useful things. I believe that traveling with children is wonderful!
We live in the same building, and this makes it very easy for us to be always present for our guests.
We stayed in this amazing house (with 3 levels of rooftop with panoramic views of Rome!) for 3 days. Everything about our stay was great. Eleonora and Veronika could not be more gracious and helpful and kind. The location is perfect. The house itself is bright and very comfortable. There is an elevator but you need to climb a flight of stairs to get to this penthouse apartment, so that may be an issue for some people. Will definitely recommend this place to all my friends!
This apartment is just as lovely and welcoming as the pictures suggest. There is an elevator in this charming 1920's building but please note that this penthouse apartment is up one additional flight of stairs. The location is superb and Veronika was on site to help in any ways we needed. We stayed a month, cooked a bit and enjoyed the terraces. Don't miss the restaurant Osteria St. Ana in the neighborhood. We can not imagine a better place to stay while in Rome.
My wife and I decided to take our daughter, son in law and granddaughter for a visit to Rome. As previous reviews stated the place is elegant with an outstanding roof patio that provided a 360 degree view. Three bed rooms and three bathrooms provided privacy for us all. Additionally we had a fully working kitchen, a dining room, living room, library and a foyer. Each one of the rooms had access to the roof patio equipped wit tables and chairs.
Since we did not need our car while in Rome the owners even provided a garage for our car free of charge while we stayed there. I cant wait to bring our friends there for our next visit.
My husband and I live in Paris and wanted a break from the dark and chilly Paris winter. What better city to choose than Rome? We had the great good fortune to find this penthouse apartment close to Piazza del Popolo, an area which we know well and like very much. We were planning a two month stay (January and February) and know that longer stay guests have different expectations from short term ones. Not only did we want an apartment that felt like our home, but we wanted to be able to have occasional guests and I am a serious amateur pianist and wanted to have a piano to play. It sounded impossible, but we found our Roman home here and have been very happy with our stay. Other renters have commented on the lovely terraces--because it's been cold, we have only had lunch once on the terrace, but we have the sun and sky every day, which is a great pleasure even when it's raining or cold outside. With the owners' assistance, I was able to have a piano and I especially appreciate their willingness to help me with this. The apartment is comfortably heated and light is good in all the rooms. We have found the layout of the apartment very convenient; each bedroom has its own bathroom and the living areas can be easily separated from the bedrooms, so people have have privacy and comfort with different activities. We loved having the art and personal items in the apartment, carpets and Italian and French books.
The area is one that we especially like. This is our second winter stay in Rome and we know both the Flaminio and Prati neighborhoods and like them very much. We easily found several restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the apartment as well as many in the area between the Piazzas di Spagna and Popolo which are welcoming, not touristic and have authentic cuisine. It's an easy walk to Castel St. Angelo, Piazza Cavour and the Vatican and the metro transport is excellent. Grocery shopping is walkable; there are several traditional shops on Ripetta, a very good Carrefour at Piazza di Spagna and a convenient Pam and covered market, also in easy walking distance, in Prati.
All of the previous renters have commented on the hospitality of Veronika and Eleanora. We had the same experience, but with an extra "plus." On arrival at Termini, my wallet was stolen, with credit cards, cash and residence papers. Veronika was more than helpful with the steps we had to take--police declaration and recovery
My family and I stayed in this gorgeous villa for a special celebration and week in Italy. The location was perfect for tours in Rome (AND day trips to Florence, Positano and Orvieto). The week in August that we were there was quite hot for Rome and the AC provided a wonderful retreat after a long day of fantastic sight seeing. The villa is even more elegant than pictures suggest and the view is beyond compare. I will definately recommend this villa to anyone that I know who is planning a trip to Italy!!
I have rented through HomeAway several times in the past, all with success, but nothing like this. I stayed at the apt for 6 nights. There were 6 of us - which included 4 teenagers / young adults.
The apt was beautiful, each room was gorgeous in its own right. The kitchen was updated and included everything we needed. The apt was close (or within walking distance) to all the sights, which allowed us to eat in many meals.
The balconies were amazing! we sat up top everynight and enjoyed the view (and some wine). Veronika was a fantastic host - secured us car pickups to and from the airport as well as assisted with reservations to key sites.
I can't say enough good things about our experience, everyone was sad to leave. I would certainly recommend this apt to anyone. Thank you to Veronika and her mother in law for all the help!
