Best of beach life in a relaxing, welcoming community
We loved everything about staying at Sandpiper Cove Retreat through Beachcomber of Manasota Key. Carol was extremely helpful in sharing ideas on what activities we would be able to pursue during our week-long stay. As a result, our son was able to do some surfing up near Venice, the guys did a lot of fishing (from kayaks and shore) which was very productive and provided some great meals. I did yoga on the beach every morning (even got the guys to join a few times), read, relaxed on the beach (easily wheeling our beach cart to the beautiful sandy shore), looked for shells and shark teeth, enjoyed a beautiful view of Manasota Key from a wonderful parasailing excursion, used the bikes, kayaks, etc. to get around in a beautiful community of people who were there to relax and appreciate all that vacation or retirement has to offer. The property we stayed in was newly remodeled, so everything was brand new, and decorated in wonderful colors and updated furnishings. We felt so welcomed and "at home" while we were there, and greatly appreciated all of the amenities provided, including an amazing welcome basket. laundry facilities and a fully furnished kitchen, grill area, etc. We were able to spend time at Sandpiper Cove without having to do a lot of extra shopping for supplies. We would recommend Sandpiper Cove to anyone looking for a safe, welcoming place to enjoy the beach and explore all that Manasota Key has to offer.
Denise & Family,
Thank you for taking the time to share your review. It really means a lot to us, and we wanted you to know how much we appreciate it! Manasota Key truly is a beautiful community! We pride ourselves on making sure our guest experience is a memorable one. So glad you all were able to enjoy all of the amenities and activities available. Nothing better than catching your own fish for dinner! We look forward to welcoming you back to Beachcomber of Manasota Key again!" Sincerely, Carol & Pete #lovemanasotakey
About Manasota Key Manasota Key is located south of Sarasota in the city of Englewood. Manasota Key is a barrier island that is 7 miles long. One side faces the calm, blue-green waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the other side is the intracoastal waterway, Lemon Bay. Manasota Key has four main beaches to choose from. By foot, bicycle, or car Englewood Beach is just minutes away from our Beachcomber’s Retreat. Englewood Beach has a boardwalk, covered picnic areas, and restrooms. Restaurants, bars, shopping, and waterfront dining locations are across the street from Englewood Beach. North of Englewood Beach is Blind Pass Beach. This is another great spot to search for shark teeth or to take a walk on the nature trail through sand dunes and mangroves. Farther north, Manasota Beach offers another spot to explore and is a popular snorkeling area. You are also within walking distance, 3 minutes, of Stump Pass Beach State Park another Manasota Key treasure. Stump Pass Beach covers the southern end of the key. Things to Do There's plenty to do and see. Countless hours can be spent exploring, shelling, hunting for shark's teeth, or just relaxing on the quiet beaches. Stump Pass Beach State Park can provide you with opportunities to view dolphins, manatees, loggerhead turtles, ospreys, and egrets as you stroll the sandy beach, hike the trails, or glide along the shoreline by kayak or paddle board. You are also within walking distance of Lemon Bay which is the perfect spot to set off in a kayak or on a paddle board to get a closer view of the intracoastal wildlife along the mangrove fringed shoreline. Catch a glimpse of dolphins and manatees as you fish. Manasota Key has some of the best fishing, boating, sailing, and kayaking available. You are also only minutes from golfing, shopping, grocery stores, and hospitals back on the main land.
