About the property

Victorian Lake Front Property 5 Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths

Renovated in 2004, built in 1887 Victorian estate, nestled on 5 acres of magnificent, Lake Ontario shoreline provides modern structural technologies while maintaining its historical appearance down to the last detail. This hidden treasure will provide tranquilityand peace of mind for you and your family.

Throw large summertime parties or enjoy quiet moments to relax and sunbathe by this 20’ by 40’ in-ground heated pool with a magnificent view of the lake. The concrete deck is framed by brickwork walls, and a staircase ascending to the veranda. A loop-top wrought-iron fence completely encloses the pool area for security.

Step through the main entrance onto the Italian marble of the grand foyer, and be greeted by tradition, elegance and whimsy. Elaborate crown moldings and raised-panel wainscotting and doors are illuminated by period wall sconces and an elegant chandelier. A delightful mix of rope twist, twisted flute, and plain balusters line the grand oak staircase, and are capped by a lustrous cherrywood handrail.

Thoroughly insulated walls and ceilings are covered by insect- and fire-retardant cement fiber clapboard siding, and a Lifetime 24-gage standing seam steel roof. All interior walls have been sound-deadened, and all floor joists have been replaced with Silent Floor truss system.

The elegant kitchen features a spacious floor plan with plenty of room for entertaining. The custom cabinets hand-crafted in Tiger Maple with rare Crotch Mahogany panels are set off by the slate countertops and hand-etched backsplash and trim. The custom breakfast table enjoys a lovely view of the grounds sloping to the orchard and lakeshore.

The dining room has a textured tin ceiling, Murano glass chandelier, and ornate crown moldings cap this spacious dining room, which features a large table with matching buffet and china hutch, and chairs. Formal dinner parties will be as intimate as family meals with the gas fireplace.

In the living room you will find a rich Oriental carpet over gleaming hardwood flooring and the textured ceiling and wainscotting harken back to simpler times. Gather around the large ornate fireplace with original andirons and cooking pot arm, framed by the stately carved mantelpiece. Enjoy warm conversation, your favorite show, or a view down to the lake, while relaxing on the cozy furniture.

The chess room/study is a quiet refuge for reading, having a thoughtful game of strategy or relaxing with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.

Master bedroom has large Anderson low E glass windows keep you cozy year-round, but open to catch the cool summer lake breezes. A crystal chandelier hangs from the plaster appliquéd ceiling, illuminating the bed and the lustrous hardwood floors. Ensuite bathroom has a full bathroom with italian marble floor, claw foot tub with air jets, double sinks and a shower.

In the second floor you will find 4 bedrooms, two full bathrooms and a recreation room furnished with Oriental carpet, sofa and large plasma television.

Three columned porches, one in the front, another one in the back and one in the second floor features a weathersealed wood floor and comfortable furniture. The northern exposure offers cool relief during hot summer days. The ones in the back command a view of the swimming pool, orchard, and lakeshore in the distance.

The house also has a central vacuum, newtone speaker system throughout, Ethernet access in every room.

As part of the original estate, the ice house was built to store blocks of ice cut right from Lake Ontario. This sturdy outbuilding is currently configured as a kennel and extra storage space.

One TV is in the main floor living room. The other one is in a room upstairs we like to call "The Kids Room." where computer game consoles can be hooked up. There's also room in "The Kids Room" for 1 guest to sleep on a hide-a-bed sofa. We're sure you'll fall in love with the accommodations and the quaint and quiet atmosphere in this part of New York State. Away from the hustle and bustle of crowds, but close enough to Rochester and the Finger Lakes to partake in any event within a 2 hour radius. Then come home to the peace and quiet of your Victorian Lake Ontario Paradise.

It's so rare for a place to exceed online descriptions or staged photographs, and yet that's exactly what the Williamson White House does, room by room, inch by inch, from chef's kitchen to pristine pool, master suites (yes, suites!) to dual verandas, Carleen carefully and unobtrusively manages one of the jewels in the Home Away collection. In both scope and detail, the house welcomes and surround you in ways that most luxury Bed & Breakfasts only dream of, but that's just the beginning. The White House commands a beautiful, green hill, filled with apple orchard, wildflowers, songbirds and a manicured lawn pathway that leads to the eastern shore of Lake Ontario, where every sunset soaks the dock, deck and boathouse in Edward Moran sunsets, inviting even the most resolute of land lubbers to take an evening paddle in one of the kayaks, or maybe even an evening sail (if you bring along your O'day 23). The White House is a beautiful, perfectly hosted retreat. Thank you, Carleen.

Ornate Victorian Mansion

  • 5 of 5

We hosted a few families for a reunion at this house and had a wonderful time. The mansion is exquisitely decorated, spacious and very comfortable with high end appliances, luxurious bathrooms and a wonderful pool. The grounds a gorgeous with a relaxing lakeside deck, orchards, extensive wildflowers and several acres of lawn for the children to roam. Carleen is a great host and took very good care of us. We'll come back again!

A First-Class Stay At The Whitehouse

  • 5 of 5

In short, this location is nothing short of spectacular. From the sweeping views of Lake Ontario, to the refreshing pool steps off the back porch, you will be blown away. Spacious accommodations are prevalent through out as three families shared the space with six kids and had plenty of room. A full restaurant-quality kitchen abuts a massive formal dining room which could host a State Dinner if needed. The wifi covered the house and kept us connected to the outside world if needed. We happily found trips to the local farms (we recommend Lagoner's & Burnaps) quick and easy. For the adults, numerous wineries, golf courses and boating activities can be found. A venture to the Finger Lakes horse track is very manageable as well.

The best part of all was the accuracy, responsiveness and friendliness of the property manager Carleen. She went above and beyond at every turn and constantly exceeded our expectations. We couldn't ask for a better liaison.

When you book this location in Williamson, be sure to ask about the accent statue (William?!) who keeps the pool heated. He was a hit with the kids.
