We can also recommend trails to ATV and etc.

The Master bedroom has a queen size memory foam bed. Bedroom #2 offers 2 full size memory foam beds. There is also a bunk room with a full size bed, 2 twin bunk beds and a futon. Plenty of room for everyone!
Mornings can be spent on the porch drinking coffee and the evenings lend to setting by the outdoor fire pit to recap the days events!

Book your memorable Colorado vacation today!
We have been vacationing in the area for over 20 years and finally purchased a home in Colorado. We have 2 kids that are 15 and 17. They love it too! The sun is almost always shining and there are so many outdoor activities to keep us busy enjoying quality family time together. We would like to share that with you!
We enjoy traveling the world and have stayed in many VRBO properties in many countries. We are excited to have a home to share with other adventure lovers.
Dex & Teresa Poindexter purchased this cottage in 2012
We had the opportunity to buy this 1928 Bungalow home in an area chocked full of history.
We feel this home has everything for a great vacation. It is very cozy to rest and renew. If you choose to keep busy that is available too! It is near the Arkansas River for world class fly fishing. There are plenty of trails to ride from the property. Hunting, Watching the wildlife, rock climbing, hiking, nearby whitewater rafting, etc. are all available here. There is truly something for everyone!
While the location is right on Highway 50 for convenience, it is so peaceful. The front porch is great for morning coffee and overlooking the Arkansas River. The mountains totally surround the property. Wildlife abounds!
There is no telling what wildlife you may see in the back yard from day to day. There are Mule deer and Big Horn Sheep that are always close by. Lots of red and gray fox that stop in from time to time. The resident rabbits are fun to watch as well. The winter months bring our Bald Eagles back to their nest across the river.
Our boys (growing up in the city) thought the woodstove was awesome! We enjoyed hiking around in the back of the house and the views.
The back door lock was a bit tricky to engage and unengage.
Nice place to lay your head for a few days to relax and breath the refreshing air. Very well furnished for cooking, sleeping and relaxing.
Plenty of wood for the wood stove, if you like a warm toasty fire.
Thanks to the Poindexter's!
This was the main headquarters for a Fall fishing trip and it fulfilled our needs perfectly. Lots of room with all the required amenities. I would say it is a "man's" place but that should be obvious the moment you see the mountain lion in the dining room. We used the wood burning stove in the living room one night and love it. Thanks for a great week!
Great stay We had alot of fun We went white wster rafting, fly fishing and at night we sat around the fir pit and roayed smores. The house is cute craftsman style and we loved it.
The cottage itself is very charming - not too big, but with enough space for a large family to spread out or come together as needed. The location is very nice - far enough away from civilization to enjoy the night skies and clean air, but close enough to services and amenities when needed. We found the cottage nice and clean on arrival, stocked with the basic items needed for cooking and cleaning, and with a well laid out living arrangement. The fire pit at night is a nice touch, too! We would have liked it more if it had a washer/dryer and vacuum cleaner, since we had to go into town a couple of times to do laundry, and would have liked to vacuum a few times during our stay. Our correspondences with the owners were very friendly, and our questions and concerns were addressed in a timely and warm manner. Our only regret was that the cottage was located but a few yards from US 50, which apparently is a major east-west route for large trucks and tourists, and as a result, very noisy until about 11 PM. But when it was quiet, it was very pleasant to hear the Arkansas River and the mountain breezes through the trees. I would recommend the cottage to anyone who was interested in staying in the area. The location (other than US 50) is great and the cottage itself was a pleasurable stay.
This was the perfect getaway for my family! The house is very well appointed. The kitchen has everything you might need when cooking. There was plenty of space... We could have easily brought another family with us! It is the perfect location... You can travel east to Canon City and Colorado Springs, or head west deeper into the mountains to Buena Vista and Leadville. The house is directly across from the Arkansas River and there is public access less than a mile from the house. Thanks Teresa and Dex for providing an awesome place for my family to unplug!
