Walks And Fires On The Beach: Wonderful Spot For Families & Friends
About Barbara Wulf
My family grew up in Sturgeon Bay and after my father's passing my mother decided she needed a change. She fell in love with this house the minute she found it. The main level was pretty much finished. The downstairs was one big linoleum-tiled dorm room. She renovated the entire downstairs and added the garage. After she passed away, my brothers and I didn't want to give it up because we had enjoyed so much family time here -together and with kids-, so we decided to enjoy it when we can, and rent it out as well, letting others enjoy it as much as we do!
Barbara Wulf purchased this House in 1989
Why Barbara Wulf chose Sturgeon Bay
What I really like about the house is that it is very peaceful here, yet close enough to town (Sturgeon Bay) that it's easy to jump in the car and go get something to eat or pick up something at the grocery store that you forgot. When you're ready to jump into all that Door County has to offer, you can take a leisurely drive north up the shoreline or easily get on the highway to start your adventure for the day!
What makes this House unique
When I’m at the house one of my favorite things to do is to is have coffee on the beach and watch the sunrise. Then go for a walk down to Peggy’s Point, which is south, just past Portage park. Peggy was a friend of my mother’s and her house was just past the point. We would have picnics there when we were kids, so I have many fond memories of that spot. I also love to make simple lake lunches and eat on the deck, read a book and fall into a relaxing summer slumber....

Very nice lots of elbow room great veiw
Well worth trip investment!
Barb's home was perfect for our girls trip of multi-generational women. We loved the space to just gather comfortably, soak in the calm of the water front view, and explore Door County. Things were clean, easy to find, and wonderful to land there each day after exploring. Highly recommend this home-owner and will be back!
Wonderful location to relax and enjoy Lake Michigan. Easy access to explore and enjoy Door County.
wonderful summer escape
The abode is a wonderful place to get away, enjoy the lake and great location to explore door county.
Great family getaway right on water
We had a great stay here. The house is clean and very large. It’s even nicer than the photos show. You can have a lot of people here and spread out if you want to. It’s in a quiet part of Door County and near the Ahnapee trail and Potawatomi State Park, which we’re wonderful places to visit. Although the house is on the beach, because of the high water levels in the area in 2019, there was not a beach that we could use at the house. You can still enjoy the views and breezes and go to other beaches in the area.
We enjoyed our stay immensely.
Would recommend this property.
Sandy beachfront property great for coffee/wine sipping walking (to lighthouse and canal), sunning, star gazing and beach fires. Five miles from active downtown Sturgeon Bay with shops, waterfront strolling, restaurants, galleries and theaters (movie and stage). Drive north to charming waterfront villages for dining, gallery hopping, festivals, music and theater. State Parks boast fantastic views, hiking, exploring (lighthouses) and outside family theater (American Folklore Theater). Boat rentals and fishing charters also available. Classes offered at Peninsula School of the Arts and The Clearing (writing, crafts).
