Well-loved Family Cottage Looking To Be Shared With Other Families
Enjoy a true Canadian experience this summer at this 3 bedroom cottage nestled in a forest of enormous pines and white birch. Wenona Lake is an aquifer-fed, limestone bottom lake with crystal clear water and pristine shores. Our property is a gentle slope to the lakefront that boasts beautiful west-facing(sunset) views off a large, new dock with deep, clean swimming right off it. Enjoy the diving board, paddle board, a canoe, or kayak and go out and explore this beautiful lake. Everything you would need such as life vests, paddles, and limited fishing gear is included. There is great fishing and the lake is stocked with trout. A short paddle will take you to a natural loons' nest and most summers there are baby loons growing up with their parents. Other wildlife includes beavers, otters, muskrats, blue heron, owls, deer and the odd wolf howl. At night, enjoy a campfire located right on the water with beautiful views of the stars.
There is a large deck right off the cottage with an 8-person picnic table and large Muskoka chairs. There is also a stand up bar, large BBQ and a foozball table to enjoy. The west-facing views are amazing in the evening as the light filters through the trees and lights up the deck. Children often enjoy exploring behind the cottage and making the tree fort their own camp away from the adults.
The cottage itself has three bedrooms- Master bedroom has a king sized bed, 2nd room has a single over double bunk bed. There is also a loft if you need additional space. The third bedroom has a double bed. The bathroom has a cedar shower, a toilet and sink. The main living area has two comfortable sofas as well as a 42-inch TV with Sony PS3 which plays video games and DVDs. There is a gas fireplace that can be used to take the chill out of a cool day or heat the cottage entirely in the winter. There is a 6 person harvest table for indoor dinners. The kitchen has all the amenities you would need. There is a full sized fridge, apartment sized stove and lots of cupboard space. There is high speed internet included and great cell reception on the lake.
For additional space and subject to approval, there is also a full bunkie that sleeps 4- A double bed in the loft and a pull out sofa bed. There is also a TV and entertainment unit. This might be great for older children or teens to have their own space.
The cottage is on Wenona (Little Dudmon) Lake, near Loon Lake - a 15 min drive from Village of Haliburton with all amenities including spas, a few golf courses, groceries and liquor stores, restaurants, shops, bookstores, a museum and regional hospital. There are many artist studios are in the area. You can mountain bike at Sir Sam's resort, and Haliburton Forest is full of hiking trails, a tree top climb and the amazing Wolf Centre. There are no shortage of things to do in the area and the cottage will have a book of pamphlets and trail guides for your perusal.
Easy access to cottage in summer and you do not need 4-wheel or AWD to access the property. In winter, the road is plowed by the municipality to the bottom of the driveway. It is located right near miles of snowmobile trails but still secluded enough to be home to many deer who like to hang out on the property.

About Karyn Bugelli
We are a couple with a young family who loves to travel and the outdoors. I am a teacher and my husband has his own graphic design business. We spend our school year in Toronto and the summer at our well-loved cottage or travelling. We have rented properties through HomeAway in many different countries and have always had a great experience. We appreciate how expensive and cramped a hotel room can be- especially with children. We also love our country and the cottage experience is part of the fabric of Canada. We love the idea of sharing this amazing experience with all types of families.
Karyn Bugelli purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why Karyn Bugelli chose Dysart and Others
The time we spend here is so important to us. The water is deep and clean- perfect for swimming, paddling, and fishing. Watching the baby loons grow and learn through the summer is one of our favourite things about the lake. Because the property faces west, we are guaranteed to see perfect sunsets and the campfire on the lake with marshmallows is a perfect way to end the day. Tuck the kids away and head down to the dock to see a pristine night sky. I grew up on this lake and the memories from childhood have shaped me as a person. My husband and I rented for a long time but finally invested so that our children could also grow up with this special experience. When we are not here, the idea of sharing it with others and being a part of helping their family create these memories makes us very happy.
