Tumalo is located on the Deschutes River, where it crosses Hwy 20 between Bend and Sisters, one mile downstream from Tumalo State Park. We are a rural community located in the heart of all the scenic recreation that Central Oregon has to offer, just 15 minutes from the Redmond Airport, downtown Bend and Sisters.Tumalo is located on one of Oregon's Scenic Bikeroutes, the Twin Bridges Loop, which links our rural farmlands with the forests of Shevlin Park and downtown Bend. Tumalo State Park, Cline Buttes Recreation Area, Maston Reserve, Tumalo Reservoir, Skyline Forest and vast public lands are close by for hikers, bikers and equestrians. The Deschutes calls to river drifters and sport fishing. Eagle Crest and Aspen Lakes are just 2 of many close by golf courses. Relax or recreate, it's all close by!
A nice clean and artistically furnished little place. My husband and I felt very much at home. A cute and cozy atmosphere. Marianne is so nice and down to earth. I wish we could have stayed longer!
My daughter and I stayed at Goldy's while we hiked and explored the Bend area. The rental is clean and very well stocked with items to make your stay comfortable. The back yard is private and had it not been so hot we would have taken advantage of the outdoor space. The location was great for getting to Smith Rock and Bend. The owner was very responsive to inquiries before, during and after our stay. We will be back for more adventure seeking!
Our second stay. Great spot for our crew and dogs. Homey with everything we needed. One person in our party had a walker and it was easy to get around; a bit tight in the bathroom though. Great coffee on the corner at beltazza and good mexican food a block away. Close to Bend (but nice and quiet), near hiking. Could use a better mattress on the pullout. Thanks Carey
We stayed at Goldy's while road biking in Central Oregon. This property is located on one of Oregon's Scenic Bikeways. The property was cozy and inviting, roomy, clean and well maintained. Dogs are allowed--there is a small enclosed shady, grassy area in the back. There are 3 restaurants in walking distance as well as the Deschutes River. The location is close to Bend and Sisters. We will definitely be staying here again.
Tumalo is an area rich in history and natural sights and experiences. Located on the Deschutes River where Highway 20 crosses, Tumalo originated as a farming community surrounded by water systems. Close by is Tumalo State Park, haven for fly or spinner fishing, river drifters of all sorts, hikers, bird watchers, mountain bikers and equestrians. Tumalo is on an Oregon Scenic Bikeway, the Twin Bridges Loop, which connects Bend to the scenic countryside surrounding Tumalo. Buildings dating from 1904 still support local businesses, where you can grab coffee and pastries, fresh produce and lunch, microbrews and fine wine or famous steak cowboy style. Bend Distillery offers tours and samples of local crafted liquor. Tumalo Artworks offers fine art, crafts and a sculpture garden. GardenArt is a flourishing garden nursery. Gas, fast food, propane, groceries, veterinary care, postal services and shipping, massage therapy, a tack store, antiques and a pharmacy are downtown too. The town church dates to 1904 and rings actual bells to announce services. Tulo is at the crossroads to numerous recreation areas and regions, from Sisters to Sunriver, Mt. Bachelor to Smith Rocks, National Forests to the High Desert, it's all just a short dash away. Whether you ride 2 wheels or horseback, hike or ski, drift the riffles or the rapids, it's all just out the door from Goldy's Hideaway.
