A Private & Quiet Oasis near South Beach

Amazing place—especially for the price. I wanted a quiet, private, clean, and safe place close to South Beach with more space than a typical hotel room.

This condo satisfied these needs and more. It had a king-sized bed in the master bedroom & a queen-sized sofa bed in the living room. It had free wifi and decent cable channels. The kitchen was fully stocked. The one-and-a-half baths were clean and roomy. Closet space was ample, with plenty of hangers & towels.

The unit is located at the end of a very long hallway, which may be a consideration for those with mobility issues. The water in the bathtub was very tough to set. It was either too hot or too cold. The unit had a drip coffee maker but not a Keurig machine. There is a Publix supermarket about 10 blocks north, gift shops in the nearby luxury hotels, and a Cuban restaurant across the street. The condo was right on the beach, which was not at all crowded. The water temperature was nice and warm.

The unit included free valet parking for one car and had reasonable prices for additional cars. The security guards and valets were very polite and helpful. They brought all of my luggage up to my room. The condo was very secure, requiring a key fob to enter and exit and to access the beach. There was always a guard on duty, even at 3:00 am.

The bus supposedly passes right by the hotel. However, I parked my car and mostly used taxis. A taxi cost about $20 U.S. for a one-way trip from the Condo to the end of South Beach. It cost about $12 to $15 for a one-way trip to the Lincoln Street Mall. The Go Shuttle, which can be taken from either Miami or Fort Lauderdale Airports also passed by the condo.

In sum, I would highly recommend a stay at this condo. The process through Home Away was very convenient. They charged my credit card in two separate installments. Shortly after paying the first installment, I received an email from the owner, who also went to the trouble of calling me. This was pretty significant. I had emailed three other owners of South Beach properties shown on Home Away and this property owner was the only one to respond back. As others have noted in their reviews, she was available before, during, and after my trip. This level of service really added to an already wonderful experience.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS WOMAN!!!

She doesn't answer questions unless you speak over her because she talks & talks & talks but says nothing. NOT RESPONSIVE. In the middle of my inquiries, she would hang up. 2nd time master bathroom toilet broke. Seems like 1950 toilets. First time she would not fix it because we were leaving in 3 days for a short vacation elsewhere. We returned. 02/16/17 it broke again. I called & told her. She would not tell me when she would get it repaired, but kept saying she would find someone. On 02/17 I called her again. Again she refused to tell me when it would be repaired. On 02/17, at 10:30 p.m., we were in bed & heard a knock at the door. Geidy entered the apartment. I yelled for her to get out & she said she was there to fix the toilet & deliver our mail. We rented for 4 months but she refused to give us a mail box key. She had government documents addressed to me in her hand. On 02/18 I asked her again. She said "don't worry, I can get in to the apartment". I wanted to know when but she refused to answer, talk, talk, talk. At about 12 pm. she called to say she was going into the apartment. OK. She left. We returned. She locked the dead bolt & we were locked out (no key for dead bolt). I called her. She said she was sorry & would come When? When? When? In 1 hour. We were in our bathing suits. I called her many times but she would not tell me when she was to arrive & would hang up. 5 p.m. she arrived - 3 hours in the lobby in our bathing suits. No money, no food, no medicine I want to take with lunch. She then accused my wife of hitting her. I am 71, my wife is 67. No one touched her. She did not apologize for the delay. The toilet is not repaired. Other issues: kitchen sink has no disposal & often no hot water - tough to clean pans. She says it’s the building but the bathroom sink has plenty of hot water. Advertises heat but no heater. Pots and pans had holes or are rusty. We bought some. Kitchen fan only recirculates smoke back into kitchen. No oven so we bought a toaster-oven. False advertising: snowboarding, rock climbing, whale watching, sledding? She has no concern for the truth. WATCH OUT. NO REFUND FOR ANY CANCELLATION. Says self-parking service but only valet. No shower in 2nd bathroom. VIEW BETWEEN BUILDINGS. VERY NOISY STREET TRAFFIC & GARBAGE SITE BELOW APT. Carpet so dusty & frayed it made us sick. Rolled it up & put it behind the couch-bed (tough to sleep on) & we got better. No ice maker.

Great Value in Miami Beach

We stayed for 2 weeks in July. For the value, you can't beat it in Miami Beach with direct beach access. The condo is *very* spacious, with plenty of closet space. We also liked the pool on those days the beach was not too choppy/rip currents. The balcony is on the south side of the building, with a view east of the ocean and you can also peek downtown to the southwest. I also found having the washer and dryer in the unit very convenient. The provided internet access is also a plus. There is no self parking - you have to valet in/out every time. Some may not like that, but you get used to it. And yes, don't be a jerk and not tip them every time they bring your car. I gave them $2 a pop. I took out my car on average once a day. A few days twice a day at most. I think I spent a total of $45 on tips the whole 2-week stay. Be also aware that you cannot call down to the valet to get your car before you go downstairs. It can get hectic down there, so be patient and be prepared to wait some times, not always. I think the most I waited was around 10-15 minutes for my car. Happened twice in two weeks. Some tips: Publix is not far away to the north (I wouldn't walk with groceries though) for those that don't want to eat out every meal - you can cook in the fully appointed kitchen. South Beach / Lincoln Road is also very close by, maybe 10min drive to the south. If you don't feel like using the in-house utensils / plates / cups then bring some disposables - like plastic utensils, paper plates, etc. And also be prepared to have to buy some basic stuff like toilet paper and even paper towels. And yes, you are going to have to wash YOUR OWN clothes and towels. Remember, this is *not* a hotel people with daily service. Would I stay again, YES. A final word about the beach - They have beach chairs down there for residents, however NO UMBRELLAS. There is an umbrella in the unit, but it's on its last legs... I recommend you obtain/bring your own.

Excelente departamento

Estuvimos con mi familia (esposa y 2 hijos de 15 y de 1 año y medio) en el departamento del 08/05/16 al 20/05/16. Nos pareció excelente, impecable en la limpieza y el mantenimiento, con todas las comodidades como por ejemplo cocina totalmente equipada (tostadora, cafetera, lavavajillas, microondas, etc) por otro lado cuenta con lavarropas y secadora. Los ambientes son muy amplios y cómodos. Tiene 2 baños de los cuales uno es de servicio (no tiene ducha) y ambos están muy bien presentados. El departamento también cuenta con parking (estacionamiento o cochera) sin cargo y con valet parking, por lo que se puede alquilar un auto en el aeropuerto e ir directamente al condominio. La zona donde se ubica el condominio es muy linda. Está a 3 calles de un 7 Eleven, a 5 de Walgreens y a 7 de Publix, los que facilita las compras si se quiere ir caminando y de paso pasear. La playa que da al condominio es una de las mejores que vimos (muy amplia, limpia, agua transparente y cálida). El gimnasio está muy bien equipado y la piscina del condominio es fantástica. Muy limpia, concurre poca gente y el agua es templada. No tuve el placer de conocer a Geidy pero sí lo hizo mi esposa y le pareció una persona sumamente agradable. Pasamos con mi familia unas excelentes vacaciones en Miami y no dudaríamos en volver a alquilar este departamento. Muchas gracias Geidy por tu hospitalidad y por ser una gran anfitriona.
