About Vivien Stevens
I am originally a Kiwi but sadly have now lost my accent having spent too long with the Brits. I am married to Rob, who after a long career as a Naval officer is now working in the Marine industry. We have two lovely children who are both married to delightful people. We have three gorgeous grandchildren who all adore coming to stay in Villa Farfalla
Vivien Stevens purchased this Villa in 2004
Why Vivien Stevens chose Torino di Sangro
Having spent 4 years living in Naples, we fell in love with everything Italian and couldn't resist buying our wonderful villa. We chose Abruzzo as we loved the idea of owning a house by the sea and near the ski slopes. The region is unspoilt by tourism so you will have a truly Italian experience.
What makes this Villa unique
Villa Farfalla has a phenomenal ability to relax you the minute you walk onto the terrace with a glass of wine in hand. There is something very special about hearing the gentle tolling of the church bells from the village whilst taking in the breathtaking views of the beach and mountains.

Fifth Year ☀️
As every year it was a beautiful Holiday - we enjoy two wonderful weeks on this nice place. 🌞
We had the most enjoyable stay at the villa. We arrived with grandparents and small children. It was the perfect spot for exploring on day trips or staying put and enjoying the pool/scenery. Something for everyone. Thank you vivien for sharing your beautiful sanctuary with us.
Thank you so much for your five star rating. We are so pleased you had a lovely holiday and we love your use of the word ‘sanctuary ‘. It describes Villa Farfalla beautifully. Thank you. We would love to see you again in the future.
Stunning tranquil location
We had a lovely time in Villa Farfalla. The property is very well equipped, our 3 year old especially loved playing with the toys and in the pool. We enjoyed visiting the local village, nearby beaches and relaxing by the pool while taking in the stunning views. Ana Maria and Domenico also provided us with a fabulous seafood dinner. Thanks for your hospitality, Alex.
Delighted you enjoyed your holiday. Domenico is an excellent cook and we love his lasagna too. We hope to see you again sometime and thank you for the lovely review.

Dear Nicky and Paul,
What a beautifully poetic review - we are absolutely thrilled that you enjoyed your stay, and you have captured perfectly the atmosphere and the beauty of Farfalla. I too love the scents that the lavender sends as you swim across the pool, and the lovely hum of the cicadas as they go about their day. We have just returned and it was a huge wrench to leave. The geraniums are at their best in September, when the heat of the summer has become more gentle and they can grow their flowers with an abundance not seen in August.
Thank you so much for choosing Farfalla and we welcome you back anytime.

Stunning Villa & location
We really enjoyed our stay in Abruzzo, Villa is gorgeous and the views are spectacular. Torino di Sangro is a typical Italian Village and the people are so friendly and polite. Beaches are spectacular with a visit to a local Trabocco a must, but be prepared to eat lots. My Mother is Italian so am used to the culture and food but this was our first trip to Abruzzo, we love it so much we are hopefully going to buy a holiday home in Torino di Sangro, Vivien you should start getting commision! AnnaMaria and Domenico who look after the property are also lovely and helpful. Not everything os open in October but a great time to just chill and the weather is still better than an English Summer. We had a lovely holiday, can't recommend it enough.
Dear Yvonne, thank you so much for your fabulous review. I am so glad you enjoyed your holiday - and rather envious you have an Italian mother! I love the Italians and their way of living. We would be delighted to welcome you to Torino di Sangro and I am sure you would love being in our special village. Thank you so much for staying at Villa Farfalla and I look forward to hearing from you if you need any help in your house search. Best wishes
A fantastic villa with stunning near 360 degree views whose owners are attentive and a pleasure to deal with. We stayed with my family of 5 (two teenagers and a 10 year old) together with two further adults: there is enough space outside to all enjoy the fantastic sea and mountain views and just enough space inside using a sofa bed for all to sleep comfortably. The kitchen is an adequate size and is well stocked with pans and utensils. All bedrooms have good beds and linens and there were numerous board games to supplement the TV (which we didn't turn on). The local village is near but the walk is not suitable for the aged / infirm / moaning teenagers who might view the steep roads as a chore! The local beach is well organised with loungers and has lovely sand and a calm sheltered swimming area. Local restaurants are of a good quality and reasonably priced (e.g a main pasta for 10 Euros, a meat or fish for <15 Euros, wine around10 Euros etc). Vivien the owner is a pleasure to deal with and we understand that she spends some time at the villa herself when possible - the place has the feel of a home rather than a straight rental property and is all the better for it. There is a games room with a table tennis and table football games for any rainy days (we had zero) and the pool is a really good size with offset steps and a fixed depth (about a metre?) For non-swimmers there is the attached spill over smaller pool which is shallow and would be great for little kids to splash in. The local management contacts are a pleasure to deal with and Domenico can be your personal chef if desired (he's an ex restaurateur from Milan!). Try to learn some Italian before coming to this area as it is very local but this was exactly what we wanted! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and its the only villa we've stayed in where we would seriously consider a return visit - highly recommended!
How lovely of you to write such a wonderful review. We are so glad you enjoyed your holiday so much in Bella Villa Farfalla. Thank you for your wonderfully apt description of the area, which you captured perfectly. You would all be extremely welcome should you wish to come back.
This delightfully tranquil rural area is very unspoilt and of outstanding natural beauty. The house sits on a small hill overlooking Monte Amaro, the old village of Torino di Sangro, and has views of the sea.
There are many festivals, and a wealth of small local restaurants. The wine of the region is excellent, especially the Montepulciano, and the beaches are pretty and safe. The local people are wonderfully friendly and helpful.
